      Notice that the fear of moving on only exists in Dallas. In the time Dak has been QB, how many QB's have the 49-ers gone through? Somehow they managed to trade and draft guys and when they don't work out they move on and some of those QB's they got rid of were part of teams that went a hell of a lot further than the Cowboys have.

      And i think he is good enough with the right set up. Dak could absolutely be a key part in a superbowl push. But the problem is that he isnt going to carry you to it. But in that same vein, no cowboys qb ever has. Weve never had a guy who could. Both super bowl era cowboys teams fortunate enough to be successful were achieved by everyone on the team being solid or better, so their was no such thing as "carry". There was leadership, which they had in spades, but no carry, as carry implies a severe Inadequacy somewhere that would constitute the need for another aspect of the team to make up for what was/is lacking. This is the major reason for our current playoff woes, not neccesarily daks fault entirely. Over the last 3 years with mike, we have had a decent football team whos been mired in severe team issues being buoyed by the fact that dak is absolutely capable of carrying us against bad football teams, and is the current best overall qb in our division. But when faced with stiffer competition, daks ability to carry wanes almost completely. Be it lack of discipline, or lack of talent, or severe injuries, there are myriad number of reasons why we have sucked come playoff time. But suffice it to say, if we want playoff success with dak, then we arent allowed to have a severe weakness in anyone area at all, offense or defense.

    @VTPSTTU 8 месяцев назад +1

    Thanks for the video.
    Chris Broussard's argument about the "guy who can't get it done until you get it done" has a few major holes. Peyton Manning was 3 - 6 in playoff games in large part because he kept facing the Brady/Belichick Patriots during their best years. Prescott is 2 - 5, but one of his two wins was against a team with a losing record. In seasons not shortened by strikes, two or maybe three teams have made the playoffs with losing records. That Prescott got his second win in this rare situation of playing a team with a losing record means that one of his playoff wins should have an asterisk. John Elway was a guy who didn't get it done until he did get it done because he was facing Jim Kelly's Buffalo Bills. I think Elway may have also lost a Super Bowl to Joe Montana's 49'ers. That's very different from losing to Brock Purdy or Jordan Love. Both of them may end up having great careers, but they are not greats in the way that the Jim Kelly Bills were perennial greats or Tom Brady Patriots were greats.
    The other problem is that Prescott really didn't have a great 2023 season. The win over the Lions was a great win. The Lions were a great team last year and were playing great at the end of the year. Without the completely wrong tripping call against Peyton Hendershot, the Cowboys run out the clock and the two-point conversion never happens. Otherwise, the Cowboys really didn't have any quality wins. The Rams were 3 - 6 before their bye week. They were 7 - 1 after the bye week, but Prescott's win over the Rams was when they were struggling. The Seahawks were a pretty good team, so the win over the Seahawks was a pretty good win. Otherwise, Prescott got to twelve wins by beating up on the Giants and Commanders, the Jets, the Patriots, the Panthers, the Eagles when they had collapsed, and the Chargers. He racked up great stats in garbage time or garbage games. He led the Cowboys to only one really great win in 2023.
    If Prescott were not taking the salary of a top five or top ten quarterback, a team could surround him with the kind of talent that might carry him to a Super Bowl. If he leaves Dallas and decides that he's going to take the kind of lower pay that would allow a team to surround him with that talent, he might end up with a Super Bowl ring. If we wants sixty million dollars a year, he's only going to get that ring if he gets very lucky. I realize that celebrities have expenses that the rest of us can't imagine. On the other hand, they are making money that the rest of us can't imagine. Whether he wants to go all-in for a Super Bowl is his choice. To do that, he needs to take a take a big pay cut and let the team surround him with the kind of talent that can carry him when he's having a bad playoff game. If he doesn't want to do that and the Cowboys want to win a Super Bowl during the next five years, then the Cowboys need to let him play out this year and then move on. If everyone can agree to a trade before October, then maybe they can get draft picks for him. Maybe they won't be able to replace him and be as good as they've been over the past three years. On the other hand, maybe they will be able to build a team that can win the Super Bowl.

    Manning was 3-6 but he'd taken the Colts to the AFC Championship Game in that and the Brady Pats DYNASTY stopped him. Dak hasn't shown THAT. Manning was 30 when he won a Super Bowl. Dak is now 31. And they WILL start saying that about Lamar Jackson, because he's now 2-4 in the Playoffs. BUT he's in his 6th season vs Dak's 8 and he's 2-2 in his last 4 Playoff starts, whereas Dak is 1-4 in his last 5 Playoffs starts. Lamar got beaten by the KC/Mahommes current dynasty - Dak got beat by a rookie (essentially) on a #7 seeded team.

      Maybe because Dak usually chokes in big games. Or perhaps because they think Dak is already overpaid. Perhaps they are tired of folks saying how great Dak is when the NFC East is a crummy division with weak teams where it's easy to pad your stats. If Dak was playing for $40 mil/yr or less ... Would there be this much interest in getting away from him? When you use the Big Money QB Model.. your team suffers. San Francisco went to the Superbowl this year .. looked very strong all year ... With the Strong Team/Fair to OK Quarterback model.

    Dak is going to get better than 12-4 in regular seasons. I am not paying him $60 mil I would tell him
    this what I am looking at $35-40 mil if he doesn't want to take it then let him walk or tell him find
    a trade you want to go to. Dallas can pick up draft picks for him. 8-9 seasons and the body of work
    Dak can't beat contenders in the AFC or NFC he should play another position maybe tight end or

    Trade dak to pats, 1st and a third. Trade down from that third pick to around 10th, Draft a OL( can even trade further down if they think the pick they want will be there). Get Baker or a game manager like Minshew, use the avaialble cap space to stack the team, OL/Defence/Barkley. Running game with a top OL and defence can win you a super bowl, you don't need a top qb.
