    What does it mean if my voltage is spiking? In my case the headlight bulb keeps burning out. I tested the connector at the light while idling. I getting 17 volts. I tested the battery charging circuit at the battery, it’s the same reading, while idling. The voltage increases when I increase the rpm. I have not tested the regulator rectifier or the stator yet.

      Sir thank you for your comment and to answer that question I think it's going to be your voltage regulator because at the voltage regulator it should not be putting out no more than 14.75 to 14.9 votes and you're charging system is putting out 17 too much voltage I would look at the voltage regulator too much voltage I hope this helps sir thank you for your comment 👍

      @@lp.670 You're spot on to what I'd suggest. The Voltage regulator isn't keeping a steady voltage from the alternator back to the battery. 17 volts is is even 3 volts too high for a pickup truck.

      @@lissettelopez8331 thank you so very much sir for your comment I'm glad to help 👍👍 and to I know a little bit about voltage regulators and charging systems and the list goes on and on and on

      Def your rectifier not doing its job. After 15 volts its supposed to have a diode that dumps any voltage over 15v to ground out to keep from over charging your battery and overloading your electrical system

    Did you put some RTV around the rubber oil seal where the wires come out of the cover? If that rubber seal doesn’t lie exactly flush with the edge of the cover the gasket will not seal completely. I thought it would be ok once the cover is bolted back on. I was wrong. The rubber seal didn’t want to sit in like it should and the cover didn’t seal just above that.

      No I didn't and I had a leak on it thank you for your comment

    Wow…. Mine is running on one cylinder and I’m wonder if the stator may not be working properly… probably a coil… what exhaust pipes are those called I like them

    • @lp.670
      @lp.670  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would think it is a coil not firing the exhaust I don't know it was on the bike when I got her I will look tomorrow and get back with you sir thank you for your comment sir 👍

      Thanks, I’ve been cleaning the inside of a fuel tank I picked up on EBay… it’s worse than my original. But I used Por 15 liner in it and it didnt hold up inside the fuel tank…😢

    Whats under the cover to the left of the stator? Mine has rattle to it and runs like crap at full throttle intermittently

      It's started gear's and if you are having problems at full throttle you might have a problem with your carburator

    Nice video gents.Got to replace stator on my 2003 Roady too.Did you have to drain engine oil or just catch some drips when you removed stator cover?Like Lug Nut was asking did yu use a oem stator or chinese knock off.If oem what did it cost?I'm in Canada so i'll get bent over for oem.Thanks for posting>

      Thank you for your comment sir on removing the cover just put a pan underneath it and catch the drip the drop some oil the stator that was put in I think was a Chinese knockoff with a regulator and I think he paid like 60 to $70 now regulator went bad so we had to put the original regulator back on but the charging system is working and two be very careful on them o-rings that goes in the side of that hose that goes bolts onto that to the engine you got two 5 mm allens just be careful on them o-rings measure the stator that you get and if it is thinner then the original one you will have to get three shorter bolts to make up the difference make sure you put blue loctite on them threads thank you for your comment sir 👍

      I drained the oil when I did mine because it was due for an oil change anyway. Just remember to put in the new oil before starting it up!

    Hope that wasn't a cheap ass Caltric stator...always use OEM Yamaha for electrical parts. Might be going back in the stator cover again!

      Are Caltric aftermarket parts really that bad? See alot of them on Amazon.
