I started to use fiverr because of you since almost one month.
My impression is: is my work so cheap?
I have been working as a full time video editor in Berlin for 2 years and at fiverr there are some people ask me to edit their vlog (68 minutes material) for just 60 euro. (After one hour downloading his material and communicate with him)
I am afraid because of the plattform like fiverr, we, the video editors, can only earn less and less money in the future because on that website you have to do the competition with the freelancers from the whole world.
Oliver U 100% agree. platforms like fiverr are making it hard for creatives to find good paying jobs. I personally think it is unacceptable to pay someone 70€ for a video that takes 5 or 6 hours to make. In the real world people pay 1000+ € for this type of work. So my message to every creative, especially those starting out: please don’t let someone take advantage of your creative skills like that! KNOW YOUR WORTH!!!
That's the reason I haven't taken jobs from Fiverr. I have a family to feed and after taxes and other costs (I also live in Germany), the remaining money wouldn't have compensated the effort. No thanks.
YDS Productions the problem is your fighting for a job with people from country like India that are willing to do it for cheaper. That’s the world we live in now.
You take things and you leave things, if you are a pro editor living in a advanced country it is simply, you dont need Fiverr, go and look for your customers, Im pretty sure no company will look editors on Fiverr, in the other hand if you are an editor living in a third world country, looking for oportunities to grow and generates some money in a hard to live environment so go and use Fiverr and you will be connected with people around the world, it is a symbiosis relationship.
I was just editing a video so I felt a sign of relief I was not the only one😂 I am just getting started so I give everyone else props.

It pains me to see a creative person using something like Fiverr. I used to work for myself using something like Fiverr, but you can’t make a good living doing it because there’s always someone who will underbid for a job (either because they’re just starting out and need a job, or because they live in a country where they can afford to get paid half as much) so you have to then lower your prices, which means you’re aren’t making enough money.
Because of websites like this, I simply couldn’t afford to continue working for myself. It kills the ability to work for yourself unless you live in a country where you can afford to work for $5 an hour. I can’t.
Please don’t use websites like this. The only people making good money from this are the people who own the website.
Chill out. This is a platform for people to make some extra money.
Sidney Diongzon Sorry, that’s just a (poor) justification for ignoring reality. You think everyone one that site doesn’t want to make a living doing that? And please tell me where it says the site is only for people to make extra money? They’re advertising freelancers. Of course the people are trying to make a living doing it. That’s the whole point in being a freelancer.
Being ignorant about it is one thing. But you’re purposely ignoring reality just to justify making a couple of bucks from them. You should be ashamed of yourself.

What kind of guarantee do we have when using fiverr about protecting the copyrights of the material?
we do have watermarks on fiverr, which keeps it from going out of the fiverr platform, also when a gig is published, it is verified by a team and they find out whether the stuff is copied from somebody else. If they fail to do so, still you can go to the idiot's gig and claim a copyright

Ngl that edit was basic af. Just simple cuts from I assume a few video streams with some coloring. I mean there's not a lot that could be done with it but I dont think it was worth the $75 price tag. I've been video editing for fiverr users for a few months now and I provide a lot more for way lower.

@@TheeApexPredator video editing isn’t always hard. More often than not it’s just tedious and long. And there’s also lots of little things you don’t register but the editing did. Like changing scenes on a beat etc.

My nephew creates pretty much anything Fiverr has to offer when it comes to designing, from Superheros to 6ft Happy Birthday Banner & Celebration designs, his stuff is sweet, he's been in this games 20 years and I recommend him, he will create anything and your sure to get what you want, as he has only the customer in mind,, as he's desperate for more his audience to be fully confident in his services, his T-shirt brand is already on page 1 of Google, he's created everything himself, just type in Google 'custom travel tshirts," if Jmcks Designs shows up that's him, am over in the UK, but it makes no difference he's up there, but he's now butting heads with the big boys, like Fiverr, Etsy ,

@@SidneyDiongzon that is why I thought about it when I was really busy, but things have slowed down now & I was with a company that did all my editing before & I felt like I was so far behind in editing, but I totally understand why you need to outsource your editing

Scott Kammerer - went through a few duds but found a few that have worked out pretty good and have worked for a year and a half now with them. I send a pre edit to them with my touch and style then they edit the rest.
@@ChrisMcKiernan thats good man. I've tested several up to $70 a video. I've found the best solution for a good video is to write your own script with 8 - 10 short lines and then have a $15 - $20 video editor build a video around it.
So did they do just the b roll for the 75$ or the entire video like whatever your project was about

How did you provide the source footage to the freelancer on Fiverr? I think thats probably the most time consuming part of it, especially if you have over a hundred gigs over multiple days.

I don't think I would risk letting someone else edit my event videos. Too much info about who is in the shots and what is going on that I would need to explain. I would use Fiverr for something like a voice over or maybe see if someone could sweeten/fix my audio track.

Shahid Ramzan Productions you probably just saw 20 mins of work. However, if you read more comments and replies, you will notice this RUclipsr has failed to make it pointedly clear that the editor was paid 75 bucks for editing a much longer piece. If this upload has nothing else of value, it has opened an important debate at the very least - something I don't think was intended; judging by his reply to @highdough's comment.
