    Current is depended on coil used. My coils output 3A each. Connected to a regulator/rectifier they output 6A. Also you should put feeler gauge across both mag poles when gapping. If you do one and tighten it, you will disturb your gap when you adjust the other side and tighten. Also, never impact gun a flywheel on. There are torque settings for a reason.

      I agree with everything your saying. The reason why I didn't put much effort into adjusting the ignition coil properly is because this engine is not being used for anything. So it's kind of a practice engine you could say. That's goes for the flywheel to. I appreciate the tips though.

    just watched your video and was wondering if I could do the same on a 13HP generator motor so it would charge the small battery?

    • @outdoormaniac4562
      @outdoormaniac4562  11 дней назад

      @realbusy you totally could. It would, however, it would require specific parts for that motor.

    How to connect coil wires to battery, or rectifier.

    • @TheCommo81
      @TheCommo81 Год назад +1

      Regulators usually tell you how to hook things up. Coils output AC current. Connect these to AC of regulator/rectifier. Bat + goes to bat + and if theres a ground that goes to ground. If its a 3 wire usually the case is ground. This will convert the ac to dc. With no load coils should output roughly 20-30v, under load it should be 12.5-14v.

    flywheels without the magnets around the inner ring will not charge. as this is not a key start flywheel, I would be pretty surprised if it made power. it will *not* charge with the magneto magnet as it is on the outer ring away from the charging coil. Most of the chinese knockoffs do not include extra magnets that would not be used without the coils, they never spend a dime they don't have to it appears. Insofar as the wire goes, what comes out of the wire isn't quite DC. The kits include a fairly large diode installed with the banded end away from the engine (non-banded end towards the engine) which provides pulsed DC, much as a riding mower has for low amperage charging. Installing two coils can be accomplished in the same way, but it's best to have each wire go through that diode, and then join at the banded end.

      Are you absolutely sure that connecting both coils (of a 2-coil-install) to the same diode is the best solution?

    • @RedneckRepairs
      @RedneckRepairs 3 месяца назад

      @@andreassittig2772 it should ,(as there are two kits) each coil goes through it's provided diode (non banded end) and the diodes are joined at the banded end. That's where the pulsed DC comes out
