The Vikings were the first to discover North America. Obviously, the Native Americans were here. However, everyone speaks as if 1492 Christopher Columbus sailed to America and discovered a new land. Hell no. It was the Vikings first.
It is not going forward with supernatural, this was a token of respect. It is meant to depict Odin who came personally to the family of Ragnar to deliver the news. You were spot on that the thunderstorm rolling in was the gods celebrating the coming of Ragnar Lothbrok. Whom is seen as legend among vikings and "bask in the tales of triumph". It is not so much related to retaliation which the brothers want to do, but purely the gods showing their respect to one of the greatest warriors of their people
I love Ivar. Hes ruthless like his father was.
The show literally started with Ragnar seeing Odin on the battlefield and dead warriors being taken to Valhalla though. And since he claimed to be a descendant of Odin, it's kind of fitting that Ragnar's story begins and ends with an appearance from Odin himself. And you can still choose to take the supernatural elements as literal or metaphorical, or remain agnostic about it like me🙃

I agree. They are still unable to pronounce the characters names. I love watching Vikings reactions, because it is one of my favorite shows. But these dudes don't do it justice. Lo siento Cruz Brothers. I'm going to have to unsubscribe. Best of luck to you.
How few reactionaries recognize Odin. Damn, I'm from Eastern Europe, Ukraine, but I know about him from world history school lessons. And this is quite a popular character. First of all, people learn about Vikings from childhood (of course stereotypical, with horns, etc.), then about Thor (a cool dude with lightning and a hammer), and then about the main features of Odin. And banal, different quizzes, riddles about the gods of different peoples.

After you're done with Vikings, you should react The Last Kingdom. the timewise, the story takes place after Vikings season 5.
