Bjorn's death was to me, easily the most epic and meaningful in the series. The man went out like a boss, and united Norway in the process.
I'd tie him for most badass death with Jarl Borg though. That guy took a blood eagle without making a sound. Gotta respect that.

    • @holysecret2
      @holysecret2 3 года назад +1

Ragnar's was badass as well. They don't deserve to be compared on a scale, each is special in its own way. But to me, Ragnar's was more impactful (emotionally), the crowning of the greatest part of the series of Vikings. Bjorn's death was really meaningful as well, but it's just surrounded by seasons I didn't like as much, especially season 5. That shouldn't take away from it, I can't help my feeling though. Regardless, it was powerful enough to pierce through my cynicism.

Lagertha's was my favourite personally, not the death itself but her fight against White Hair is easily my favourite in the series. And that funeral scene hit me harddd

I just watched this episode for the first time an hour ago. Bjorn Ironside.. The legend, the king of all kings, approaches an entire army. A dead king pierced by 3 arrows got them all rattled, shaking in their boots. Even their Christian god has left the battlefield! Non of them has seen anyone like this. They're witnessing a phenomenon..
That scene just now, got me covered in goosebumps with chills running down my spine.

In our culture, the Valkyrie are feared. They are both witch and warrior, sanctioned by Odin himself to pass judgement.
They brought Bjørn home where he belonged, Valhalla...
Those burial hills started with something called "Jættestue" which can be translated to "dwelling of giants" built circa 3.300 B.C.
They later evolved to burial mounds for famed and valorous chieftains and Viking kings.
There are around 500 of them in Denmark. As a child I saw one, and even now there's an eerie feeling about them. Almost as if you can "taste" the past.

Much love to you from northern Idaho, USA! I’m 21 years old this year, and started watching Vikings as soon as the pilot was released, which was when I was around 11 years old I think. I’ve always had an immense fascination in ancient history, from the beginning of the Roman Empire to the ‘Golden Age of the Vikings’, and when Ragnar showed up on screen in Vikings, I was blown away at how mesmerizing his character was... his interest in discovering the new lands in the west, and when he saw the Roman statues that the saxons believed were built by “giants” etc etc.... so many aspects of this show just drew me into it. I’ve been completely ensnared from the start, totally emotionally invested in this show. I know it’s not really technically historically accurate, but this show sheds a lot of light on this enigmatic, mysterious era, and the very real people that were apart of it.
Gotta admit, when Ragnar died, I kind of had a difficult time staying truly invested in the show. But after rewatching it again, and starting to watch your reactions & those of your fellow reactors, I fell right back in love with it again. Thank you for your heartfelt reaction to the send off of one of the last OG’s of our beloved show, Bjorn Ironside.

I’ve got a theory which contains both The Last Kingdom and Vikings. Anyone who has seen The Last Kingdom would know that Uhtred’s adoptive father is Ragnar the fearless and remember Ubbe and Torvi’s son is called Ragnar. Perhaps Ragnar the Fearless is actually Ragnar Ubbesson, son of Ubbe Ragnarsson. That’s just a theory but it would be mad if it were true. And we already know Ivar the boneless exists in The Last Kingdom world bc of his son, Sygtryggr of Ireland aka Sygtryggr Ivarsson. Also btw if any1 reading this hasn’t watched The Last Kingdom on Netflix, WATCH IT NOW!!!! It’s a mad tv show.

(unlike Game of Thrones) VIKINGS is one of my top 5 favorite series EVER.. thank you for all the work you put into these videos and reactions they are great.. ive been checking your page for days waiting for this reaction.. Just wanted to say thanks for the content. I found your channel off your Vikings reactions. I finished the series yesterday, I won’t spoil anything obviously, but it didn’t feel complete without your reaction. So it’s cool you’re back.
Btw, netflix picked up a sequel series to be based a century or so later. Should be interesting.

Great reaction and commentary like always bro. When you cry over these makes me cry all over again too, haha. I know Lagertha's sendoff nearly killed us both, lol.
Hey, in the painting in Bjorn's crypt scene ( 20:53 ) was that Ragnar behind Bjorn - in the same kingly pose?

Just finished the season and I cannot wait to see you finish this show out. You’re pretty much the reason I got into watching reactions as your Vikings reactions where some of the first reaction videos I watched. Now I watch a bunch but you’re still one of my absolute favorites. Also with the music I don’t like it either but I think they just wanted to do something different for the last ten to make it more dramatic. It’s a bit of a fail for me as I LOVE the original song but I’m pretty sure they just added like drums and stuff behind it to make it feel more heavy and dramatic like I said. Who knows🤷🏼‍♀️ thanks for the great reactions as always!
