This video is very original and prompts for some creativity thinking. Thank you, Gary!

Thanks for the video. I hadn't considered using an additional keypad for this.

Exactly what I bought one of the little keyboards to try and do.
I want keys to trigger events in a time tracking app.
And another use be shortcut keys for OBS scenes like the stream deck

I just thought about this exact method the other day, glad to know somebody thought about it too, also you can buy these journal stickers to mark the keys for a more stream deck esque

Thank you for going through this. I purchased keyboard maestro and it is amazing. But it does not have the ability to differentiate keypads and keyboards from what I have been able to find anyway.

Did you or are you planning to do a in-depth tutorial for the Karabiner elements? Thanks for the info on the additional keyboards.

Nothing in-depth, no. But I do mention it in videos sometimes: ruclips.net/video/36yrgeKAYTI/видео.html

Cool. You're making my billfold yell. I like the Touch ID on my compact keyboard, but; don't like not have a keypad. So, no point to keep beating around the bush. 🤑

The only ones I have tried are the full Mac keyboard with keypad from Apple, and the little MacAlly one I show in the video, which works fine and is cheap. But lots of others out there. Can't really recommend a particular one as I haven't tried others.

Four years ago a MacMost video explained how great it was that videos could then be embedded in Keynote. It was great; MacMost videos could be embedded just as videos from other providers could be. Now MacMost videos cannot be embedded; comments say the originator has prevented this. What has changed?

Kinda off-topic for this, but... I had to disable video embedding for my videos because RUclips was penalizing my site for some reason they wouldn't reveal. And so I read up on it, and among the many things mentioned by others was embedding could be an issue. So I disabled that. No idea if that was what they were penalizing me for, but I wasn't going to tank my whole channel just so a few people per year could embed a video.

@@macmost Thank you! Good to know why. I share the videos with our Mac Group, and they have been greatly appreciated. I can work around this. Thank you for all the information you share!

yes but I have found that the keyboard has to be connected with a cable for it to appear on Karabiner elements.
Whatever settings you save, will not work when you use the keyboard without bluetooth.
I don't know if I am 100% correct, but can anyone confirm?

I am definitely using an Apple wireless keyboard that is no connected via a wire and Karabiner works.
