lesson? haha. this is so funny because he came to the guitar college i went to back in 1999 and didn't play anything for about 45min, until i put my hand up and asked him to. he kept going on about his nut being made from dinosaur bone! amazing player and a genuine, humble guy.
Loved Jerry's playing and style since listening to a sublime little solo on a Fotheringay track called "The Sea"..about 40 years ago now ffs! His kind of seemingly effortless playing really throws me. You kinda think it's a God given unique gift. I can play stuff now that raises the hairs on my back (yeah) but it's not a slavish replica...and I do it on an Epi SG! Pedals help but use them sparingly. I use a Digitech processor although my Boss stomp boxes gave me the idea of a noise
Jerry is a legend and didn't seem to need the B-Bender did he
Perhaps the Lesson is in the background of his life and the decisions he made to get him where he is. Because anybody can play the notes, but can they play the concept....

Guitar lesson can also be a story. Donahue’s telling how he got to figure out things. And again - “even” today YOUR ear IS most important part of learning. Like this; whether it’s story of an accomplished artist or an actual note-by-note lesson. Just listen.

How does he get the E-string to keep the same pitch while bending in 2:00? Not having a tremolo?
Yes! Hard tail on tele. With no floating saddle or any kind of springs connected, the other strings will stay in tune.
Is there anybody who know the name of the song played between 2:03 - 2:06 ?
