That look of pure sorrow on Viktor's face when he sees his mom walked out on them again is so heartbreaking...
Morale is a very powerful thing. It's part of spirit, if you're demoralized that basically means you lost the will to continue spiritually. Your body can break but if the spirit is not able to keep pushing forward that is true defeat
Yes!!!!! It was over after that. 😢😢
I loved it! Remember what Drago said about Apollo?! Revenge is a dish best served cold! 🤣🤣🤣
I cried a little after Ivan Drago threw in the towel when he finally realized his mistake in using Viktor to stroke that long time bitterness he held towards Rocky. Then calmed an enraged Viktor down, hugging him, telling him it'll be alright as Viktor cried in his father's arms.
@@LuckoDaStars It's like Rocky Balboa himself said in Rocky 3: "Nothin' is real if you don't believe in yourself!"
This movie pulled off an impossible task: it made the Dragos human, relatable. I genuinely felt awful when Viktor looked up and saw that his mom had left.
If she leaves, she leaves! Way to go Creed! 🤣🤣🤣

Actually feel for the dragos in a way. Just because they lost they get shafted by everyone. Their lives are ruined over 1 boxing match its ridiculous.
@@kskrocksolid1948yeah, but its great to know that Donnie picked him up like, he promoted Viktor's fights i believe as we can see at Creed 3
This scene is amazing because you feel sympathy for the dragos and creed finally gets his vengeance, there both fighting for a reason, the dragos fighting to get back in their country, and creed because he wants revenge.
revenge for what? Victor didn't do anything to Adonis, that's the tragic thing. The real reason is the fact that Ivan Drago and Rocy are too manipulative "fathers"...they put their "child" on the fight because in reality they want to fight again to each others for no reason. Because they want to show off, they are sick fathers, that's why this movie has a so wrong message.

Ivan Drago learning the value of life and what is important in this fight alone is beautiful.
Not only does he throw in the towel to end the fight in which his son could get injured for life if the fight would continue.
But also defending his son when everyone else (including his mother) abandons him by throwing away his own pride to get back at rocky.
Catching him and bulding him back better in life as in boxing.
Say what you want about the character "Ivan Drago" but as a father he did what every good father should do. Swallow his pride if it can help save/defend his own kid.
so oxic players ur so toxic why i wirted this idk im so good
@@drakeazerty9983what?
The final scene is one of the best in the saga, as not only does it serve as a "revenge" for Creed, but the moment when Drago throws in the towel also serves as redemption for Rocky. Drago does what Rocky didn't dare to do in Rocky IV.
Actually, it was Apollo Creed who did not want rocky to throw the towel
@@99mrpogi I know, but if Rocky hadn't listened to him and been braver, Apollo would still be alive.
Also, just a nitpick, but remember how Ivan finally put Apollo down in Rocky 4? Rocky pretty much downed Ivan himself the same way in that same movie. Another point to ponder about.
It’s like the moment where Ivan’s desire to win back his wife falls away and he realizes/cares more about his son
@@NevadaEntropia True but then if he had Apollo may never have forgiven him. It was kind of a no win situation for Rocky.
It's incredible how this movie can shift your emotional state from adrenaline-pumping and triumphant when Donnie knocks Viktor down, to genuinely emotional and sad when we see the torture Viktor puts himself through, and how it reflects in his father's eyes.
I do feel some sympathy when drago got up and saw only his dad left, I did feel a bit sorry for him at this moment because he looked upset that only his dad was left

I ain't losing over here. I'm just eating me some pain.
The facial expressions of both Adanos and Viktor say so damn much. 4:48, The adrenaline is still flowing, making it easier for him to listen to his father. 5:15 Viktor fully realizes what he did and hates it, but also respects Adonis for being willing and able to get back up. 6:30 More than just facial expressions, but Adonis seeing his mom tell him to get up, when he said at the end that she'd kick his butt for doing what he was doing. This extra bit of approval at a pivotal moment helps him find the higher gear that the announcer mentions. 6:53 Viktor's respect for Adonis ramps up again, as if to say..."What more do I have to do?" 7:47 A mix of respect for Viktor and determination,. Adonis knows what he has to do and is prepared to do it. 8:21 Viktor starts to see things exactly as Ivan has talked about, sees everything fading away. He gets up for his father though, still wanting to truly win his approval. And finally 8:32 It's tough to say what Adonis is looking at, but despite getting his butt royally kicked, his ribs broken, and then being hospitalized after a cheap shot and a different pair of cheap shots earlier in this fight, a Creed genuinely feels sorry for a Drago. Adonis still knows what he needs to do, and feels bad that he has to do it.

I feel like a lot of people really overlook the fact that Drago actually does end up beating Rocky by being the bigger man. Drago overcame pride and saves his son... Rocky didnt and lost Apollo.
It was Apollo's pride that killed him, not Rocky's.
@@nuclearwinter391 I get what you are saying... but the person in the corner needs to overcome the fighter's pride as well. It is their job to protect the fighter... This was kind of apparent in that scene where Rocky was saying "I think he would have rather of been here to talk to you". Rocky knew he failed Apollo.
@@grimtrix It's not the same thing, Apollo was fighting that fight for Apollo in 4. He made Rocky, his friend, his equal, promise not to throw the towel. That was Apollo's decision to make to go out on his feet in the ring. When Apollo looked back at Rocky, he wasn't looking for advice, he was making a decision. Viktor wasn't fighting for Victor the was Apollo was fighting for Apollo. He was fighting for his Name, for his father, to gain something back that he hadn't lost, he was fighting for what his father had lost. And when Victor looked back he wasn't one man making his own decision, he was a Son looking to His father.
The situations are very different. When Drago throws the towel for his son he isn't being a bigger man than Rocky, He's being a better man than he used to be. He's choosing his son over his pride. It was his redemption, it was his humanity prevailing over his hubris. As much as Adonis was in the ring with Victor and Rocky was in the corner opposite Ivan, this fight wasn't Adonis vs Viktor OR Rocky vs Ivan. It was Adonis Vs Ivan. Adonis wins the fight in the ring, And Ivan wins the fight with himself. Its an awesome moment, But I don't think it has anything to do with Rocky vs Ivan.
@@evilclown019 I think that all of these themes could be true at the same time... and still believe that the cornerman's job is to overcome their own pride as well as the pride the their fighter, to protect them... meaning no matter what Apollo said to Rocky, Rocky failed him. There was even an earlier scene when Rocky was saying to Adonis "I think he would have preferred to have been standing here today" acknowledging that Rocky knew he messed up.

Creed's mama telling him to Get Up makes me tear up everytime. That's a mama's love right there. Compared to Drago's mama. Hell even when Donnie was beating Viktor in the final moments of the fight, his mama was grieving for Viktor.
Except she's not Adonis' mother - she took him in despite the fact that Apollo had an affair with another woman. She became his mother because she saw her husband in him and let go of her anger that Apollo had cheated on her.

@@pbdye1607 what purpose did your comment serve to the conversation? What a waste of everyone's time having to read that.
@@angusmarch1066 Well, I was about to make a similar comment, to highlight the fact that it proves what a vacuous bitch Ludmilla is. Mary-Anne's motherly instinct is so strong she used it to bulldoze through what must have been emotional pain of proof of Apollo's infidelity, on top of his still recent death, and give an orphaned boy a home and a family. Ludmilla was as shallow as a saucer and couldn't even stick by her husband and baby son because of something as ephemeral as losing a sports contest. 8:20 I honestly felt so bad for Viktor! He wasn't a Villain! He was an unfortunate pawn his father, Ivan's plan to restore his name to glory. And it's not that Ivan didn't care about Viktor but in that moment you feel heartache for Viktor who just wanted to be loved by those close to him and Ivan for once in his life be a real father to his son!
only if all matches could be this entertaining
Ivan throwing in the towel might have been the most unexpected and touching moment in the entire franchize. And was perhaps the first thing either of Viktor's parents or anyone else had ever done out of pure, unselfish love for him. Drago redeemed at last.

noticed how both movies follow a scene the Dragos stand up first in the beginning showing that they are bigger but as it goes on Rocky and Creed start to stand up first followed by the Dragos
The emotions you get from both fight scenes is amazing
When his mom left him it was very heartbreaking
Nah it was expected. she left them before and she would do it again.
I kidna feel for Drago because he was being used and manipulated in a political agenda by his government.
But what i dont feel sorry for is him killing Creed. Sure he beat Creed that badly, Creed succumed to his injuries but he felt no remorse or empathy for the act.
Rocky had no chocie to seek revenge, surely he knew that....thats kinda why I dont understand his grudge because his actions lead to his own downfall.
@@WaveForceful You don't understand why a man who was used as a pawn and then abandoned by his country & wife would hold a grudge? It was cold war politics so the despise ran deep on both sides, hell that in and of itself is what got Apollo killed (along with Rocky's misplaced loyalty to Apollos wishes) in the first place so for Ivan THAT night never ended in essence but only got worse creating a desire for vengeance.

The 1st round of this 2nd fight is absolutely amazing. Creed was clearly a different fighter than when he first stepped into the ring the first time with Drago.
Ah Adonis. His father always was susceptible to those body shots too. Maybe that's why Rocky had him blocking bombs with his face after all.
While i did root for Adonis his victory took a backseat to the Dragos in this fight, the amount of humiliation they must have suffered and Viktor still refuses to give up while Ivan throws the towel because he realises he can't lose his only son. This movie was marketed as a "revenge movie" but we got something else in the end and i loved it!

It is actually very heartbreaking how the mother walks away when his son seems to lose like she would not get a damn for his son's life but his victory and respect from Russia only. But the father who seemed cold-blooded at first but not at the end and rather broken too cared about his son and hold tight to his son - this was actually so sweet. This a good example of how females can be damn evil and/or carefree. I don't see a lot of protagonist men physically strong being sincere and sweet too in movies. This part of the movie like would add a bit of story for Dragos only and it is really nice to see. 😇

The storytelling is beautifully written in the Rocky and Creed saga's but in reality you would rather avoid that insane amount of damage in a professional fight that takes place in these films. Best not to have to retire because of life threatening injuries.

7:16 I love how Creed beat Drago so hard he gets to push Drago away just to make a perfect distance for his right hook.
I think this is what we are missing from the final fight of the third movie. Dont get me wrong, that final fight is pretty amazing, the choreography's great, the visual's great, and the anime style/references are also dope. But we didnt really get that emotional feeling like this fight. I mean, we already knew that Creed as the main character would eventually win, but we also felt the desperate emotions that Creed felt when he was down in this fight. We, or at least I didnt really get the same emotions and sympathy towards both fighters while watching the third movie's final fight, unlike while watching this one.
Very true. Not much emotion in the creed 3 final fight compared to 1 or 2.

Adonis his mom is rich remember?
Victor's defeat wasn't fact of strength, or speed, or determination. Compared to Adonis he was lacking only in the term of speed. Adonis individually won because of the scenario want him to win. Victor lost because of the honorless advices from his father and more than that, he lost because of his mother rejection and abandonment. Very unfortunate. This was the main reason i'm feeling compassion for Victor since the 1st time i saw the fight. Adonis was worth of the title just because of the cut scene in the locker room.
I desperately wanted Adonis to knock Victor’s lights out until I realized that that’s not really what this movie’s about
Oddly enough, in Rocky, Apollo could not put Rocky away no matter how much he pounded on him. And in Rocky 2, Apollo admitted to his wife that he was bothered (and scared???) that he beat on Balboa harder than he'd ever beat on anyone and couldn't put him away. Ivan protected his son.
Very good film 👍
