I cried a little after Ivan Drago threw in the towel when he finally realized his mistake in using Viktor to stroke that long time bitterness he held towards Rocky. Then calmed an enraged Viktor down, hugging him, telling him it'll be alright as Viktor cried in his father's arms.

revenge for what? Victor didn't do anything to Adonis, that's the tragic thing. The real reason is the fact that Ivan Drago and Rocy are too manipulative "fathers"...they put their "child" on the fight because in reality they want to fight again to each others for no reason. Because they want to show off, they are sick fathers, that's why this movie has a so wrong message.

Ivan Drago learning the value of life and what is important in this fight alone is beautiful.
Not only does he throw in the towel to end the fight in which his son could get injured for life if the fight would continue.
But also defending his son when everyone else (including his mother) abandons him by throwing away his own pride to get back at rocky.
Catching him and bulding him back better in life as in boxing.
Say what you want about the character "Ivan Drago" but as a father he did what every good father should do. Swallow his pride if it can help save/defend his own kid.

The facial expressions of both Adanos and Viktor say so damn much. 4:48, The adrenaline is still flowing, making it easier for him to listen to his father. 5:15 Viktor fully realizes what he did and hates it, but also respects Adonis for being willing and able to get back up. 6:30 More than just facial expressions, but Adonis seeing his mom tell him to get up, when he said at the end that she'd kick his butt for doing what he was doing. This extra bit of approval at a pivotal moment helps him find the higher gear that the announcer mentions. 6:53 Viktor's respect for Adonis ramps up again, as if to say..."What more do I have to do?" 7:47 A mix of respect for Viktor and determination,. Adonis knows what he has to do and is prepared to do it. 8:21 Viktor starts to see things exactly as Ivan has talked about, sees everything fading away. He gets up for his father though, still wanting to truly win his approval. And finally 8:32 It's tough to say what Adonis is looking at, but despite getting his butt royally kicked, his ribs broken, and then being hospitalized after a cheap shot and a different pair of cheap shots earlier in this fight, a Creed genuinely feels sorry for a Drago. Adonis still knows what he needs to do, and feels bad that he has to do it.
As a side note, that has got to be the longest 3 minutes that either of these men have ever experienced!

@@nuclearwinter391 I get what you are saying... but the person in the corner needs to overcome the fighter's pride as well. It is their job to protect the fighter... • @evilclown019
      @evilclown019 2 года назад +41

@@grimtrix It's not the same thing, Apollo was fighting that fight for Apollo in 4. He made Rocky, his friend, his equal, promise not to throw the towel. That was Apollo's decision to make to go out on his feet in the ring. When Apollo looked back at Rocky, he wasn't looking for advice, he was making a decision. Viktor wasn't fighting for Victor the was Apollo was fighting for Apollo. He was fighting for his Name, for his father, to gain something back that he hadn't lost, he was fighting for what his father had lost. And when Victor looked back he wasn't one man making his own decision, he was a Son looking to His father.
The situations are very different. When Drago throws the towel for his son he isn't being a bigger man than Rocky, He's being a better man than he used to be. He's choosing his son over his pride. It was his redemption, it was his humanity prevailing over his hubris. As much as Adonis was in the ring with Victor and Rocky was in the corner opposite Ivan, this fight wasn't Adonis vs Viktor OR Rocky vs Ivan. It was Adonis Vs Ivan. Adonis wins the fight in the ring, And Ivan wins the fight with himself. Its an awesome moment, But I don't think it has anything to do with Rocky vs Ivan.

But the father who seemed cold-blooded at first but not at the end and rather broken too cared about his son and hold tight to his son - this was actually so sweet. This a good example of how females can be damn evil and/or carefree. I don't see a lot of protagonist men physically strong being sincere and sweet too in movies. This part of the movie like would add a bit of story for Dragos only and it is really nice to see. 😇

The storytelling is beautifully written in the Rocky and Creed saga's but in reality you would rather avoid that insane amount of damage in a professional fight that takes place in these films. Best not to have to retire because of life threatening injuries.

I think this is what we are missing from the final fight of the third movie. Dont get me wrong, that final fight is pretty amazing, the choreography's great, the visual's great, and the anime style/references are also dope. But we didnt really get that emotional feeling like this fight. I mean, we already knew that Creed as the main character would eventually win, but we also felt the desperate emotions that Creed felt when he was down in this fight. We, or at least I didnt really get the same emotions and sympathy towards both fighters while watching the third movie's final fight, unlike while watching this one.

    Not gonna lie:
They really had the opportunity here to make a new music rendition of Vince DiColas "War" for this final fight.
More in the direction of an orchestral arrangement. That would have been epic and would have fit the context!

If you think about it the Dragos are fighting for each other. Ivan just wants his son to win and have the life he never had without realizing Viktor doesn’t really care about the glory and reputation, he just wants the love and respect of his father, which he fails to realize that his father has always loved him.

Victor's defeat wasn't fact of strength, or speed, or determination. Compared to Adonis he was lacking only in the term of speed. Adonis individually won because of the scenario want him to win. Victor lost because of the honorless advices from his father and more than that, he lost because of his mother rejection and abandonment. Very unfortunate. This was the main reason i'm feeling compassion for Victor since the 1st time i saw the fight. Adonis was worth of the title just because of the cut scene in the locker room.

Oddly enough, in Rocky, Apollo could not put Rocky away no matter how much he pounded on him. And in Rocky 2, Apollo admitted to his wife that he was bothered (and scared???) that he beat on Balboa harder than he'd ever beat on anyone and couldn't put him away. Ivan protected his son.
