It was an ok movie but everyone hates it because it was nothing compared to the original.
Lucky for you that I already have two video tape of GREASE and GREASE 2 and I have my own "T" Bird jacket

I never get tired of watching GREASE 2! I think I memorized most of the lines and the spectacular songs. Deserves more recognition. Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer had a lovely chemistry! Whole cast was prowlin’!!! 😍
This movie is so under rated its imo better than grease i want them to have a special edition steelbook with lots of cool features!!

Absolutely one of my favorite movies!! Just as great as the 1st one! Had the biggest crush on Maxwell Caulfield!
I just love Greace 2 and first time i watched it i was 16 years old , it was few years after Islamic Revolution and all western movies were illegal to be screened in Cinema's or even Television, these type of movies but was available in " underground" video shops , and used to be very hard to get membership in those video shops, but since my father was a photographer and connected to cinema and television in Iran we were privileged to get our hands on this type of forbidden Movies, I instantly fall in love with the story and its characters specially with Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield. it is sad thogh to see Micheal wasn't in this 35th anniversary gathering - she is not only beautifull and elegant but she is a real good actress .
This movie brings so many good memories. I remember showing it to my friends and they loved it . Loved every song and energy that everyone put in order to make this movie.
IMO Grease 2 was the best! Way better than the first. The soundtrack alone was incredible! So much energy, the cast was great ! My sister and I still sing all the songs word for word ! Just awesome ! ❤️🙌🏾

Grease 2 is a decent movie. In retrospect it’s getting a more deserved appraisal than it did at the time of its original release.x
I enjoyed part 2 so much more than the 1st.
Saw Grease 2 at the drive in multiple times in my Pontiac Sunbird .
Best movie of 82 , it was that damn et and fast release that took away from this wonderful movie.
This is amazing, to see the cast now. I love this movie a lot. Even my 14 yr old Daughter loves this film, and we both sing the songs all the time. This movie is so underrated. Thank you so much for sharing. 👍👍

Brilliant upload of this reunion. I absaloutly loved grease 2. Great songs and fun and high school laughs. I did not want it to end. Big chris mcdonald has aged well( goose). Johnny and davy thare, michael, sharon aswel. Shame michelle isnt in this, just because the film got bad reviews by the critics, who cares what they think. I loved it. And it is so nice to see a fair bit of the cast here. Really uplifting and brings back great memories. I would watch grease 2 anytime for a laugh and parts of it brings a tear. Just my feelings towards it.

@@cynthiatassi347 if you go to 4 minutes 53 seconds exactly you will see a great shot of some of the cast, if you look at maxwell caulfield in the middle, ( michael ) his left arm is round johnny's shoulder, and johnny's left arm is around (sharon's) shoulder, maureen teefy. Hope this helps you out Cynthia.
If not for Grease 2 Michelle might never have made it. That scene of Cool Rider, did everything for career. She owed it to them to be there.

And yes definately that cool rider song and dance helped her image massivley. She should have came just to show face and it would have been wonderful if she did. Cool rider brilliantly done but i do like louis dimuchi's "America is calling " in the bomb shelter with sharon. " And i'll win this War for you" Peter Frechetti was pure magic as louis. A loving super buzz of a film. 👍☺.

I didn't realize until recently that the Twins in the movie are the sisters of Katey Sagal. Awesome movie. I was 10 years old when I first saw it, I'm now 53 & still watch this movie often.....I even bought the CD soundtrack.

Maybe it's because the movie wasn't well received, and she felt like it would've stunned her career because of it.

Great movie! The movie DEFINITELY DID NOT receive the praise that it deserved. Among other things, the movie has a GREAT love story that takes place between Michael (Maxwell Caulfield) and Stephanie (Michelle Pfeiffer) that is very underrated. 😊. Great movie to watch anytime. 😊

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Michelle Pfeiffer hates this movie. I cant confirm this so dont take my word for it, but for some reason I feel like I definitely remember seeing an article or interview or something where that was said.
@@xxka0tikkxx Yes she is embarrassed of it now because of how famous she is but I bet when she got the part she was happy.
Caulfield hated the movie too for the same reason; it had a negative impact on his career, apparently it took 10 years for him to get over it. Glad to see he's now embracing the movie that made him famous in the first place. If only Ms. Pfeiffer did the same. Does she even have contact with her co-stars or anything??
Love this event and the films to bits guys. my only hang up with the movie was it’s a shame they didn’t explain where Frenchy went when she was a big part of the story in the beginning of Grease 2 :) I totally wish Didi Conn was at this event to for me she was wonderful in both films a wonderful cast member of the sequel to. Loved watching her scenes with Micheal:) great to see lots of people love the sequel to ❤️❤️

I loved Grease 2! Grease 2 actually had better music than the first Grease did, though the first Grease had great music too.

I love how all of themselves who played in this movie my mom liked the old one that came out in 1978 when she was elementary school during the 70s and she was born in 70s during those days when Grease cause she love John Travolta but yeah back in 78' so I mean I Olivia Newton John nice voice but I am thinking about Michelle Phieifer.
Like your mom, I too was a kid when I saw the original back in '78. I like the second but prefer the first.
Ernie Trinidad my mom saw Grease 2 when she was a little girl her favorite movie and she remembers songs from that movie like the actress was singing many songs she knows all of them she loves Grease 2.

I just watched this again tonight. Wow. It was nice to see the cast. I didn’t realize Michelle hated it. Why though?

@@katemaloney4296 Michelle specifically said it derailed her career for a year. Brian De Palma even refused to let her audition for Scarface initially because he had seen Grease 2 and didn't like her. You weren't in her shoes... she's the one that had doors slammed in her face directly after Grease 2. Maxwell also said many times G2 ruined his career and it took him many years to finally start landing roles again. There's many many soundbites and interview quotes from back in the 80s/90s where they both talk about how devastating G2 was to their careers at the time, all it takes is a simple google search. Michelle got lucky and came out the other side, but Maxwell never reached great heights after that.
It was both of their film debuts as full-on, leading stars, and it was a massive box office bomb. Arguably that's the worst time to have a flop because that's all the public knows you for and associate you with. People now underestimate how much of a bomb G2 was when it was first released. It not only tanked at the box office, but it was practically the laughing stock of Hollywood and was immediately considered one of the worst films ever made. And Michelle and Maxwell were the faces of it.
Michelle has said that she is proud of the movie.

People surprised or miffed that Michelle didn’t show up might consider that Grease 2 was a huge flop when it was released, at the time considered an example of a terrible sequel to a mega hit phenomenon. It tanked at the box office and the critics hated it. It didn’t achieve any popularity until released on VHS and even then it was one of those slow burn cult hits that took some time. Pfeiffer was a young up and comer at the time with mostly a little TV work and it was not good for her career at all, and in fact she was very, very lucky she was able to maneuver her way out of the shadow of it with some key roles in the ensuing years (Scarface, Married To The Mob, The Witches of Eastwick). She became an A-Lister despite Grease 2, not because of it. She also reportedly did not get along with Maxwell Caulfield (whose career by his own admission was very damaged by this movie). One can’t really blame her for distancing herself. But that said, considering how many fans love the movie, and considering how successful she became and at this stage in her career wouldn’t be hurt by the association, it would’ve been nice to see her at a reunion like this.
And how do you know all this? I actually saw an interview with her on a talk show and they ask her what movies do people come up to you and talk to you about most and Grease 2 happen to be one of them she said. She didn't seem too embarrassed about it then.
Nibora How recent was that interview? I’ve seen her mention it in more recent interviews like within the last 5-10 years. She’s at a different phase of her career and as I said her reputation isn’t harmed by the association because she has a body of work in A-list hit movies to outweigh any past flops. But earlier in her career it wasn’t likely to be something she or her agents and managers would have been talking up. Also I’m not pretending to know what goes on inside her head, I’m merely speculating based on the realities of the business and the place the movie used to occupy in her career.
@@zebrastreet9993 it was just back in 2019, but still Grease 2 is basically what put her on the map. I'm not saying it was a great movie not too many sequels are. Most actors don't have a whole lot of positive things to say about the very first movies they starred in anyways, but they have to start somewhere, and I'm sure that's what Michelle thinks of Grease 2. Could you imagine that movie without her??? People think it's terrible now 😂😂
Tons of movies are flops. And someone needs to remind her that, although, Grease 2 wasn't on the level of Shakespeare, it wasn't "The Swamp Thing" remake.

Now, can they PLEASE remaster and reissue the ENTIRE soundtrack?! I'm SO SORRY I didn't get to see this in the theaters in 1982, though, I was excited to see it. I can't remember why I was able to go...me being 8 years old probably had something to do with it, though I saw Grease in '78 at age 4 and LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. Also saw it every time it was re-released in the '70s and early '80s.
INCLUDING all of "Brad", which only came out on Japanese vinyl! (No kidding!!)

Actually, he torued with the Broadway revival of GREASE with Debbie Gibson as Rizzo and Sally Struthers as the Principal. Adrian played Danny and was excellent. I got to see the show when they came to San Diego back in 1995.

Michelle? Pamela? Lorna? Didi, Peter? Dennis? I know they were saying hi to Lorna so I am assuming she was on FaceTime or something like that. It would have been great for them all to be there, though. Grease 2 is awesome!!
They were saying “Lorna get better” at one point, so she was either ill or injured.
@@calisongbird Around the time of this reunion, Lorna was having some major health problems. She discovered a lump that turned out to breast cancer and underwent a complicated surgery to have it removed. Then it was discovered she also had a brain tumor--which was also removed. As of June 12, 2022, Lorna is in good health.
