Catholic Diocese of Youngstown investigates as priest resigns

- Bishop David Bonnar accepted the resignation of Father Michael Swierz in response to an ongoing internal investigation. It stems from what the Diocese describes as an issue while he was at St. Rose Parish in the late 1980s. Sydney Canty has more.
Odd how interested wfmj is in this story but didn't bother to dig for the details when a probably drunken judge hit my grandson on a bike and then left him lying in the road screaming in pain.
So he was jumped by thugs who stole his wallet decades ago and didn’t tell anyone?? Seems like a nothing burger to me.

Boy their digging into this story. Why didn't they ask so many questions about the judge hitting my grandson? The neighbors inside their homes heard my grandson getting hit, how could the judge driving the car not hear? Where was he before the accident? At a bar maybe? Why did he call an attorney instead of the police? Probably wanted some advice? Did he ever apologize? No, he didn't. That's the kind of man he is.
Sounds to me like someone has set him up. It's hard to investigate something that happened nearly forty years ago.
i think it is very important to point out that this investigation need's to be given a chance to be compLeted and this man deserves his day in court ...if found guilty he shouLd PAY.... but it also should'nt be unsaid that there are far more good priest than bad one's..in any instituionaL organization there are good and bad(*rotten) 🍎's... many blessing's.
Guilty of WHAT? Are you aware of any pending criminal charges against him? All I heard was that he violated a policy back in the late 80's.

The Church not only needs to allow priests to have wives, but to make it mandatory before you can reach the level of bishop and above. You know - obey scripture
