Man! Congratulations on the weight loss. I dropped 100 lbs about 7 years ago. Rebuying all your clothes sucks, but give the larger stuff to goodwill and you at least feel a little better about it 😜
HAHA! When talking about your books read, just the little "heh, nice" was perfect, I had to chuckle at that. Sometimes it's the little things that make these videos go from good to great :)
That’s awesome you lost 20 lbs-I wish I could stop myself from eating as I get full😂 Another thing I do(my father’s side of the family has all died from heart related issues, including my father) is fish oil supplementation and then I do beet root powder (I mix with some cranberry juice and a hydration stick to make it not taste like dirt). Fortunately, there’s science backing both pretty well. I’ll be leaving more comments below about your reading as I continue to watch!
How in the holy hell do you have time for all this!. I have 3 kids and work and I feel like I barely have enough time to read maybe 40 pages a day. You also coach kids soccer AND a part of local politics.
I always ask the same question every time I watch these weekly update videos. The answer is simple: Matt is superman. And I mean that as a compliment. ❤ Truly impressive and inspiring!
I know you don't usually read web novels but If I could recommend you one that I think you would love it would be Lord of the Mysteries, Its not a typical fantasy and it starts off pretty slow but once it gets going, it gets really going. If you don't mind a slow start and love mysteries, great worldbuilding and awesome battles I would check it out, this series is an absolute masterpiece. Just remember that if you do try it, Volume 1 is considered the worst of all of them.
I really need to continue Shadows of the Apt, was torn on whether I should re-read Empire in Black & Gold (which I read well over a year ago) or not but I've found a detailed summary. I can see it easily becoming a Top 10 Fantasy series for me.
Cool month! You have me HYPED to get into the Correia series, and I’m glad you liked Blood of the Mantis since that’s pretty universally ranked toward the bottom of the series for big fans (including me). Can’t wait to see what you think of bk 4 😊 I also enjoy Well of Ascension and I hope the finale still does it for you! Brutal how much you’ve changed on Riyria over time - you now have me scared to reread it since I also read it early on before most other adult fantasy series.
I need to read Shadows of the Apt! Maybe next year. I had other goals for 2024 and I can't add another big series for this year. Im about to start reading Pillars of the Earth, and that will knock down one more reading goal off my list.
I felt the same way about Elder Race. Like yeah, there’s something here, but it never really did anything that was amazing, and I was left wanting more. Also, 69 books read, nice.
I' be interested to hear your thoughts on Tchaikovsky's newer fantasy series, starting with "City of Last Chances". Its my first and only book of his I've read and I felt that his setting and ideas were unique and interesting, but his character work was lacking. I wonder if that is present in the "Shadows of the Apt" series as well. Solid video, hope your weight loss journey continues to be as successful for you.
Yeah it can for a lot of people. I've done a really good job networking over the years so I never really have to worry about that. I'm a pretty sought after person for politicians to hire.

Matt's kids watching the start of this video randomly when they're older "wait a second..."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

One big thing is that I really just don't watch any TV.

I think he listens to a lot as well, not always reading.
@@PreppinShootinLivin Yeah I listen when I am driving, doing chores, or playing video games.

That assassin na books sounds super cool
I mostly read comics, but I did start Rain WildChronicles and continued Wars of Light & Shadow with book two.

¡¡Tremenda sudadera!! Go Niners
Can working in politics, especially for a particular politician, tend to be an unstable profession? Always having to worry about reelection and such?

Ok, what happened to Wandering Inn? You are at Tears of Liscor, right? If I do say so. Must. Read.
Yeah I'll get going more on it soon!
@@MattsFantasyBookReviews It’s aptly titled and, unless I’m wrong, would SO change the top tiers of your ongoing Top 100 book series... ;)
