Hi Pete. Feeling Depressed will be a normal illness that can happen to anyone with your sort of problems at the moment. Clinical depression is something different and it's a chemical imbalance in the brain, in this instance you'll need antidepressants. This medication may also help short term if you 'feel depressed' but don't have clinical depression.
How to stop depression. Well, that's down to you.
In my life, I literally changed everything, Job, home, lifestyle etc...
I stopped worrying about money (and started with the courier work 😂) I was in senior management positions. I've stopped drinking any form of alcohol and caffeine. I stopped smoking, and stripped any stress out of my life.
I now work with my wife, we have no debt, no loans and live in a small house. We earn way more than we need to live, this gives us the freedom that's very important to have a relaxed mind and stress free life. The reason I'm telling you all this, is obvious, but here it is. De-stress De-stress De-stress. Find something you enjoy doing, and don't do it for the money, do it because you love doing it. The best job is one where you don't feel like you're at work, maybe turn a hobby into a job? Or carry on with the courier work but downsize, chase the peaceful life, not the money. Exercise, sleep well, eat correctly and you'll be surprised how your mood will be better.

Going through a massive move for my own business and I thought I was coping OK with it.
Turns out I've just been trying to mask the stress and depression.
    I'm fucking exhausted.
    Keep it going mate

    Hi Pete.
It's been tough for a lot of people lately. I've suffered a lot with depression in my life and the past few months have made that worse.
Just remember. When you hit rock bottom, the only way is up.
Stay strong, take care and take money!

Hi Pete. You have been a huge inspiration to me over the last few years. I have followed you and taken your advice as my trucking journey has evolved. Listening to this video has made me aware and be more self aware as I too have these feelings. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
    Take care Pete.

Pete mate, I'm not surprised with what you've been dealing with. Firstly thanks to you I'm now doing legal document courier work and it was yourself that made courier work seem appealing.
I suddenly came down with depression but more so anxiety in my case and like you I'm a jolly easy going bloke. I can't stress how well I felt after speaking to my GP, she put me on a drug called certralene on a temporary basis and it was very helpful. It has no nasty side effects and you can drive on it and it doesn't space you out like anti depressants of old. My advice is speak to the doc mate you will be amazed. Well done for the video cuz blokes need to talk about this alot more something I'm an advocate for, take care mate

Hi Pete, I suffered with very bad depression a number of years ago, and a doctor suggested I read a book by another doctor who’s name I forget. I am in Spain at present, but when I get home I will send you the details of the book. It really helped me to understand what was going on, and helped me improve. Hang in there mate.

I feel for you. I've had depression and anxiety for about 12 years now. Driving is the only thing that takes it away.
All i can say is speak to your gp. It may be that its part of something else and made worse or more visible to you because of the bad luck. And defo speak to a professional, it costs money but the investment is worth it as it may, like with myself, not go away and i wouldn't want you to do something to yourself (as silly as it sounds, I've come close a few times).

Pete. What you've got is burnout. It is classed as depression and you feel like a cloud over you. You don't feel like ending it but you don't get any joy from anything. I know exactly what your going through. 29 year old I got it big time. Businesses got too big to quickly and it screwed me over for many years. 7 years until I got back to normal. I suggest you stay away from alcohol completely. Don't take on anything stressful like contract into a commitment. Best advice is just do the minimum you can to survive. Certainly ppl are susceptible to it. Transport industry is hyper stressful especially when it's your money on the table

Extremely brave my brother - this video popped up on my feed as yours sometimes do. We are kids of the 70s and 80s who were brought up to bottle stuff up and crack on and it takes its toll. Maybe that’s why we partied so hard. Let’s catch up sometime - KES5

Hey Pete, after years of watching RUclips this is the first time I've commented on a video because I recognise how you are feeling, I believe you have burn out, I am 2 years older than you and I ignored how I was feeling for several years and it has taken me a long time to get over it so please do something about it sooner rather than later, I wish you all the best

Hi Pete been there on more than one occasion.
It was once called the black dog.
It is a dog that can bite, and the pain lasts a long time.
    Sometimes years!
I have been a business consultant for many years helping business get over the next hurdle.
Many of the owners go through this.
    My advice would be.
Stop trying to do it all alone.
Get help with your mind and the business.

Pete your such a good guy and you deserve all the success. You don't want lectures. All I will say it it will all be fine and it will go on the up and up. But don't lie down because if you fall into that black hole your fucked! Keep out of it. Could be like mid life crisis men can suffer with depression as they get older.

You're probably just physically and mentally exhausted after decades of 50-60 hour weeks like most drivers
Why not become a part time ebay reseller buying ornaments and vases from a charity shop and selling them on eBay as you used to buy and sell on the market etc
    Or try something new
Eg drive to a coffee shop and draw a painting of the view etc
Or join a walking group or possibly volunteer at a foodbank etc or start watching football or darts etc
Do what makes you happy 😂
