      LOL. I love it! I actually got inspired in this video to improve my aim. I wasn't sure it was my problem. I used to aim a little low on my targets but with this gun i don't think that's good. I have really been inspired to become a better shooter as a result of this video. thanks stevo

    I think these are great and very good value! Here are some items that will upgrade your pistol, Truglo TG231MP Brite site then you can add the Streamlight TLR-6, 69293 that fits the Smith and Wesson M&P pistol fits the 40VE/9VE and works great. I have the Streamlight TLR-6 on many of my sidearms and hope to have one on all of them. This model has a Laser and 100 Lumen light and it not too bulky and very light I highly recommend them and Fobus makes a holster RBT17 that works with this sidearm with a light installed. the CAA Roni & MCKs are great. CAA is an awesome company they listen to their customers they make great items. I would recommend having 2 pistols one to install in a CAA MCK and one on your hip and have a "Perfect Pair"(sidearm and carbine/rifle in the same caliber and even better if they use the same magazine also!) They are great to have! ruclips.net/video/vyax-Dcr2K4/видео.html

    I have the same gun. My first time shooting I realized that I was hitting low everytime. Use your left thumb and run it along the left side of the pistol just under the slide while doing a push/pull on the pistol for better grip. When you shoot here you are over-calibrating your shot. Do not pull down on the grip with your right hand too much. It took me a tiny while to get used to this gun and now I've become a pretty good shooter with it.

    Smith & Wesson high quality. I got the SD 40 in 2008 and had zero problems. This year I got the SD 9 and much the same, zero problems out of the box and not picky on ammunition. Is like getting something better than a Glock for 1/2 the price.

    It may have been said, But don't close one eye when you're aiming. It'll throw you off.

      @sbickmore15 10 лет назад

      It takes practice if you're not used to it. But shooting with one eye closed can strain your face and throw your aim off. This is especially true when shooting rifles. Are you right or left handed?

    • @PreventViolence101SteveNTravis
      @PreventViolence101SteveNTravis  9 лет назад

      I'm right handed man and lately i have been having a hard time shooting accurate with two hands. I was a better shot like ten years ago. I'm not sure if i need to get my head examined. Really its just that i don't get enough practice cause ammo is real expensive and its hard to get the range alot cause i am surrounded by homes at my place so its hard to shoot.

    Its actually really a fun gun to own. I really would only trust it for accuracy within 10 to 15 feet unless your a really good shot with a handgun!

    My son just bought this weapon. It's a great gun, he had to fire a few hundred down the barrel to get familiar and comfortable with it. Practice made him a better shot, you did ok for a new weapon. Good luck..

    Just got this gun and love it, worked with an instructor this weekend to clear up a few issue I was having. Noticed you squinting your right eye pretty hard, that means your left eye dominant. I am also and was struggling with grouping my shots/being on target consistently. Try canting the gun 15 degrees to the left so the sights line up with your dominant eye. It's helped a lot in the 150 rounds I've shot since. Good luck and keep at it

  • @pidevilpup

    Stop anticipating recoil and you'll stop shooting low/left. That's a result of you clinching your grip right before you pull the trigger

    Ok big guy. Great vid. The reason your feeling so much recoil is not the gun. Its the gripping method your using. The straight thumbs method offers far more recoil contol. Look it up and give it a try. Ull be shocked by the difference.

  • @nomaschalupas2453
    @nomaschalupas2453 8 лет назад +2

    a .40 shouldnt really be recoiling that hard for a man your size. you are not gripping the gun high enough to have proper control of the gun that's why it kicks so hard.
    you are also jerking the trigger so you shoot low and left. practice your trigger finger with some snap caps until you can pull the trigger without the gun moving so much or at all and the you will be way more accurate.

    Yea this is one of the snappier 40s I've shot. I can handle it with ease but I've owned 10mm and 357 sig guns. I have given this to a grown man inexperienced shooter and he could barely control it I had to take it away for safety. 40 s&w in a polymer gun def not for newbs.

    you concentrating on anticipating when your gun is going to go off! just let it be a suprise hammer fall as u squeeze the trigger...concentrate on your sights nd gently squeeze, after good long practice you can start picking up the pace on your speed and quickness.

    In a defense of the shooter, I have the same gun among many other guns. This gun kicks the most and simply is not that accurate. I have put thousands of rounds with pistols, but this one is a challenge. It almost aways shoots low left no matter the grip or anticipation. I am 230lbs with strong wrists so please do not tell me how my grip or wrist is the problem. The problem is this gun what was designed for a 9mm polymer but used for .40s&w.

    • @Irkenpow
      @Irkenpow 8 лет назад +1

      I just bought it and I am the same weight and have fired every 40. And have been shooting for years, you are completely correct sir, it shoots low and left covering the target with the whole front sight, I have learned to correct it and my groups are about 2" at 15 yards. It's a great pistol, it takes time to perfect and hone a grip on every pistol, and I'll tell you what for the money, stopping power, and aesthetics. It's the best 40. IMO.

      Gotta tell ya guy i have a SD40VE i have yet to miss at 30 yards not saying ill bullseye every shot but im with in a inch every shot i even take it squirrel hunting maybe the trigger pull gets ya? Sig acacademy teaches a method i think you gotta try chamber a round remove your magazine then shoot follow it with a dry fire trying to stay on target repeat a few times i bet you notice yourself pulling off

  • @poncoolride
    @poncoolride 10 лет назад

    Mine was a complete lemon. The chamber was machined completely wrong. I'm lucky the cases didn't rupture. I only fired five rounds through it and stoped to check out a casing and it (along with the others) was severely bulged! I showed it to the gunsmith at the range and he immediately banned me from shooting it anymore. Called s&w and they said it was normal!?!? And were argumentive and rude as hell! Id buy anything but a s&w anymore. None of my friends will either.

    • @Chieflywaze
      @Chieflywaze 10 лет назад +2

      You called S&W and they told you that was normal? Are you sure you called S&W the gun company or was it S+W carpet cleaners? I've had S&W products for decades and the 2 times I've dealt with S&W, they sent me parts gratis. S&W is known for their great CS and lifetime warranty. So send the gun back and let them "fix" it.

    • @TiredOfApathy
      @TiredOfApathy 9 лет назад

      Hahahaha how far back you shootin? It should be dead on at about 10-15 feet. Its meant to be a defensive weapon. You can find high viz adjustable sights for it or figure out your hold and get comfortable using your gun, your choice. Sometimes people anticipate the recoil and 9x out of 10 its the shooter and not the gun. Good luck

    • @garysnider5160

      this weapon is 18in to 2ft low at 10yrd my 4yo nephew is not that bad of a shot it is the weapon for sure I just need to know what it could be making it fire so low?

    • @TiredOfApathy
      @TiredOfApathy 9 лет назад

      Gary Snider In most cases a gun shooting low & left is due to the shooters trigger control. Since it is a new gun to you I would say that, that is a possibility. Try shooting it off of a rest or have a few other people shoot it to see if it patterns the same way. refer to this, this is helpful for most people: www.piedmontnrainstructors.org/resources/CorrectionChartRight.pdf

    • @TiredOfApathy
      @TiredOfApathy 9 лет назад

      TiredOfApathy if it still is the gun then change sights or file down the front sight some just be careful not to file too much or you will be shooting high. Oh and filing is usually done on metal sights so I am sure but I think the front sight on ur gun is metal. To do it properly you need to be able to put the slide in a vise so it can be held to facilitate filing the top of the front sight down flat. A good mill file or pillar file will work. The key is go very slow...a few strokes then go shoot to see how quickly it is changing point of impact and PLEASE sight it in at 25 yrds! Thats a standard distance. Hope this helps.

      Relax your muscles and tendency comprehension of the recoil, most shooters aim low with this gun .. Which isn't the case at all put a firm grip on it and relax your arm muscles aim just above the target your trying too hit
