      Thanks mate! We have been in the process of filming lots of upcoming videos and unfortunately we had an issue where some of the files went corrupt for this video but sorted now!

    Did you keep the same oil pump from your b18b1? And did you have to switch out the cog for a vtec one since the timing belt used is for vtec?

      Still running B18B oil pump, I am also running stock B18B water pump and timing belt. When I change the timing belt (soon) I will replace water pump with a B18C2 as it spins better at higher rpm and you’ll need to match the belt to whatever water pump you are running

    For anyone who comes across this video, do not put any sealant on the distributor where he did. Buy a new o ring, they are like $3

      I would recommend getting a new o-ring however a year on after this video I have not had any leaks or issues with where I put it.

    About how much did it cost to do the swap

    • @ValveHouseAU
      @ValveHouseAU  2 года назад

      I would estimate a total of around $2000AUD. Yes it’s expensive but it’s pure and looking back I wouldn’t have changed my mind

    did you do anything to the block or is it just stock block with a vtec head

    • @ValveHouseAU
      @ValveHouseAU  2 года назад

      Completely standard block, nothing was touched apart from the oil supply to the head.

    your vtec probably didnt end up working because its a non vtec dizzy

    • @ValveHouseAU
      @ValveHouseAU  Год назад

      Vtec engages fine, vtec has nothing to do with the distributor.

    I can understand doing things on a budget, but using sealant on the distributor and cardboard boxes for gasket is hack work man. spend 20 dollars on gasket material and an o ring. You cant turn the distributor to set timing nor did I see you do it in the video. These are the things you do to get your car home on a breakdown, not proper practice.

      Seal on the dizzy yes, probably not permanent fix but I replaced shortly after when I set timing. Cardboard box for TB gasket however, works perfectly and has never let me down. I am now running a skunk2 IM with 70mm TB with supplied gasket but the cardboard one lasted the whole time.
