Kurt Russell is correct. He has never taken on a role that would become bigger than himself. Movie Stars of that era didn't have that issue bc they were always working on new and varied projects. Stars like Tom Cruise, Arnold, Brad Pitt. It's more difficult these days do to the ubiquitous nature of comicbook movies. As great as the current generation of starts that we have are, many of them will always be tied with their Marvel counterparts. like RDJ and Iron Man.
Seriously, Elvis is one of his only films I haven’t seen. Matter of fact his only carpenter collaboration i’ve never seen either. That’s not to say I won’t ever see it or have no interest, quite the opposite, it does just go to show how his popularity/role as a somewhat “cult actor” evolved over time.
The movie was great , I remember when it came on *VHS, it's was a riot. Kurt talking about sequel, well it's a shame. The US did not like it a lot, in terms of box office. But I would have like a another film. Go Kurt!
Bad marketing and reviews people listen to back then if honest youtuber reviewers like critical drinker would have done great. Did great on VHS i remember
What kind of Chop Suey mess...?? Yup, that was a cringe-worthy and racist comment, folks. But don't think it ends there. Wygant used the identical phrasing with her interview with director, John Carpenter. Premeditated. But this lady was already pretty up there in years, and trying to stay relevant. I bet she didn't even care for the movie. Sad.
Calm down. It was the 80s. It’s not a Bobbie type of movie 🎥 but that’s ok, it’s for a new generation and it is a modern classic. Good thing Kurt understands the❤movie.
GTFO out of here, you little fruity wokester. Not everything is racist. It's dumbass comments like this that's the reason most of society is against your ideology.
I love that movie - criminally underrated at the time of its release.
Kurt Russell is a legend 🎉
Big Trouble in Little China, my numero uno action comedy of all time. Just love this movie!
Jack Burton is 1 of the best characters in movie history. ❤
You know what old Jack Burton says... what the hell!! 🔥😎😎
My favourite movie 🎥 of all time 🎉
And it’s a classic it’s in my top 5 all time in movies

One of my favourites, great movie.
Looking back now. He was wrong there because Big Trouble in Little China is far more loved than his Elvis movie. It's an iconic movie

One of his best

The only man to ever live who could pull off the mullet.
After I heard this it made sense.
Jack Burton was Kurt Russell version of John Wayne
Kurt Vogel Russell
17 de marzo de 1951
72 años.
So, their son Wyatt was almost named Henry. LOL, interesting fun fact there :)
interviewer is an actor too. got to get those cut away shots just right.
Everyone’s an actor, and the world is the stage.
One of my friends said, Kurt's character Jack Burton is an unlikely hero, who doesn't know what the hell he's doing! LOL!
Did you have an interview with him talking Escape from L.A (1996) and Soldier (1998)
It's all in the reflexes 😂
Fun movie to watch. The interviewer does not seem like she watched the movie or would.
Jack Burton. Han Solo. Indiana Jones. Overboard will always be #1 with Goldie❤
Well like ole Jack Burton used to say " They don't make em like they used to"....
Jack Burton and Al Bundy would be best buddies
That must have been a challenge. Carpenter obviously didn't want Snake Plissken or RJ MacReady.
A Jack Burton series would've been great, but alas...And I think he'll always be Snake Plissken to most people.
Dexter O'Riley
That is crazy. Even the interviewer is acting
Jack Burton the trucker version of John Wick.
country Wal-mart version =)
Jack Burton was actually quite incompetent, unlike John wick.
Almost like thats the point of the character
This lady is terrible

'Chop Suey mess' is only a racist comment to PC loving SJWs.
Grow up you man baby

Meh, my Mother says worse things about the "brown people" these days. I just focused in on Kurt's part of the interview.
Dude it was funny and relevant to the interview. It’s called breaking the ice. You should try it sometime instead of being so overly sensitive
"What kinda chop suey mess is this" 😳😬 Geeeeezus Bobbie. Thinking before you speak does wonders for that covert racism. Gawdtdamn
Stfu and stop being so sensitive
Phenomenal line
