    This is absolutely incredible. A real interview. No crass interviewer "comedian" interrupting every 2 seconds.
    Quality dialogue.

    Love Ermey… this is a great interview. I’ve never seen him so calm and level headed. A great man and true patriot. I miss him

    It's hilarious because he could act as the mean sucker he said he was but you really could tell outside of that he was a really nice guy. RIP Gunny.

    One of the great performances of the 1980's- he was so forceful in "Full Metal Jacket" I was afraid to laugh at his funny ab-libs for fear he'd turn to the audience and start yelling at me.

    Academy awards were reserved for the club members, not the masterpiece performance of this gentleman. RIP Gunnery Sergeant Hartman.

    Great life story. FMJ was a great film in large part to his chilling performance. He also had a nice small part in "Leaving Las Vegas."

      Agreed, he was fantastic. I remember seeing it on opening night and it was sold out. His first scene got some of the biggest laughs I've ever heard in a movie theater. Such funny, vulgar dialogue perfectly delivered by Ermey.

    I'll tell you all right now, the barracks boot camp scene's are/or look exactly like US Navy barrack's at Great Lakes, Il, bootcamp before it got torn down. The same three story buildings, the same sound inflection, the same bunks.

    Watch the Archive interview with Slim Pickens as well. He and Gunny were the genuine articles in a profession that at least today likely wouldn't know what to do with them.

    Yes! Just ignore them. I could have listened to another hour of this minimum. Only thing wrong with this is it was too short.
    Excellent interview that lady knows how to ask a question and then listen.
