i know it might sound stupid, but the video is right. it can be difficult for some people at first and they might need time to process. it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re homophobic/transphobic. they might be worried about you and the discrimination you might face, and there’s other reasons too. i think it’s an important thing to remember when you come out. sometimes people might not have a good reaction at first, but really they just need time to process and they will accept you. idk, i’m gay and it’s a comforting thought to me
@Ares yeah, obviously you should prioritize your comfort and safety, but if someone needs time to process, you should let them have that. society teaches people a lot of lies about people that are lgbtq and some people might need to unlearn those things first. it really sucks for us, but its a complicated issue and usually if someone really cares, they will come around.

Yess. I dream about the next generation, or atleast the kids of Gen Z being like this. I really hope the next generations won't have to go through trauma, like some of us, and won't have to think too hard about saying that they're in love. And I hope parents start speaking like- who's that perso your texting? Is it your partner 😏-(only an example) I'm currently 13 and I'm not sure if my parents are homophobic or not bcoz I've never spoken to them about this topic. I'm thinking about coming out to them when I'm able to support myself. Sometimes, I'm tempted to just ask them what they think, but I'm scared that they would scold me. Because right now, I REALLY love my parents and they also hope the best for me. I'm not sure how they will react and I don't want to ruin my relationship with them . Any piece of advice will be helpful. 🥲

I actually came out to my school as trans by telling my teachers to call me Mason and use he/him pronouns for me and they were all very nice about it. For example one teacher told me I’d be a great leader and hoped I’d feel more comfortable being out and offered to tell the whole class that I’d prefer my pronouns and name be respected and explain that I’m trans. It warmed my heart

An advice for young people who are still living with their parents who are planning to come out; if you are not sure about how your parents will react to the situation, please consider your safety first. There are extreme cases where families may even abandon their kids, or just simply continuing to live with your parents may become a nightmare. I suggest you to wait for a time when you can look after yourself in case you need to go somewhere else.

Before I came out to my mom I needed to come out to myself first. I wondered for months about being bi. I watched tons of RUclips videos about LGBTQ+ after I started to notice that girls were just as attractive as guys to me. But I was rather confident in that new side of me than scared. My internet friend knew way before my mom that I liked girls too, because we often chatted about girls. To her I never really came out, we just agreed that loving someone hasn't to do with their gender. But still, I was confused and unsure. As I came out to my mom, I was just a mess of emotions. I cried a lot and I still don't know why. I felt relieved, I felt good afterwards. It felt like it was the right thing to do. My mother is a really relaxed person, she fully supports me and didn't ask questions. It wasn't really like "Hey mom I'm bi" but I asked her in the morning to talk to me when she gets back from work with the intention to tell her. Throughout the day I hoped that she had forgotten my request, but she remembered and since I didn't say anything she asked: "Do you have a crush on a boy?" I shook my head, looking down at my feet. But the next question made my head shoot up. "Do you have a crush on a girl?" And then I broke into tears. Nobody else knows, but ever since chatted with my internet friend about girls I started dropping hints at my mom and friends. For example: "omg my classmate is sooo pretty" or I corrected her subtle: When she talked about me having a boyfriend in the future, I whispered "or girlfriend". My friends don't know because I still feel too akward to tell them. I drop hints at them too. Subtle ones. And because of their reactions everytime I say a hint, I figured that the most of them wouldn't completely understand. The progress of telling them will be way slower, or I won't even say anything: I have the plan to come to school with an LGBTQ+ shirt, where something like "love is love" is written on it. Then again, I am too shy just yet. Thank you for reading this loooong comment. PS. I am in High School and came out this year in summer to my mom. update: 4/2019 I'm out to a few friends, they don't mind, sometimes they ask questions, I'm over my crush, life is great. Be brave, whatever bothers you right now, it will pass!
Hi there, I read your comment, and it is inspiring. I'm so happy your mom accepts you, and hopefully your friends are just as awesome. If not, then it seems like you are better off without them. True friends love and accept you no matter what. Good luck on your journey, you are already so strong!
Coming out to yourself is definitely the first step. And it's okay if you're not ready to come out to your friends yet. There's no rush! But something subtle like a cute LGBTQ+ shirt is a nice idea if you're not sure what words to say. It warms my heart to know that your mom was so receptive and accepting of you! It sounds like you have a good person to turn to if you're feeling confused. :)
Me:I’m lesbian Parents: ITS THAT DAMN PHONE Edit: I came out to my dad and he just said some crap like “do you think ur gay cuz u haven’t found interest in boys yet?” “Why are you thinking about this instead of important things like school?” I was pi$$ed but yknow im kind of relieved. He’s been ignoring me for the past few days tho. Wish me luck-
I plan on coming out tomorrow. I am a christian gay myself, and Im going to tell my parents and then get baptized to prove to them that the two qualities can coexist. Wish me luck, ive never been more scared in my life. Some days I feel confident enough to come out right then and there, and then other days I feel like the whole world is against me. Im wishing luck to anyone else struggling to come out.
I did it the next day! I told them point blank. My dad's first words were "Are you serious" in a cold hard stare. With the shock aside, they dealt with it pretty well. My mom took ut amazingly, only concerned about HIV AIDS and my overall health. My dad is still just tryna figure out my type 😂. They both were concerned for my safety in the world, as I plan on piloting globally, which the world isn't too fine with gays. So they were super worried but I assured then that I've gone 18 years without ppl knowing, so I know times and places when to closet myself. But I urge any and everyone that is contemplating it to come out. It's the hardest thing I've ever done and probably will ever do in my life, but it was so liberating afterwards. I could breathe. I could express, I could finally be me, fully. I thought they'd kick me out or worse, so I'm sure that no matter what happens, it's for the better. Happy pride month, and good luck coming out to all of those still closeted!
Parents can seriously suck... I wonder what kind of treat I'll get🤔 probably that I'm talking nonsense and will settle down with a man. Even though I'm a lesbian
I really hate it when parents tell you that you're too young to know that you're gay, lesbian, etc. But if you say you're straight, they don't question it. If we are too young to know if we are gay, we are too young to know if we are straight, too. Edit: I've recently come to terms with being a pansexual trans demi-guy! :]
Thank you. This really helped I’m gonna come out to my parents as soon as I confess to my crush... it’s a girl that I have been best friends with for a long time... once she said “I wouldn’t date another girl, I’m not lesbian.” But she supports the lgbtq+ community and I am really hoping she feels the same way. (I’m pan btw)
My plan to come out Somehow fit myself in the cupboard Jump out and sing the alphabet with I'm pan in the middle Or I'll have my friend help me bake a cake with the inside being pink then yellow then blue But then comes the complication of coming out to her. Maybe I'll jump it if the cupboard for her and have her help bake cake for mom? Yes that is better plan.

from my experience, I recommend trying to casually talk about the LGBTQ+ community with the person first, to grasp a sense of how they feel towards it, and once you’re sure you’re safe and ready, come out to them! however, maybe don’t talk about the community for too long or too much before coming out, because the person might clue on that you’re part of the community and your coming out may feel rushed/not as you had planned :)

Coming out to yourself is definitely the first step. And it's okay if you're not ready to come out to your friends yet. There's no rush! Im wishing luck to anyone else struggling to come out.
How did it go?
How did it go?

But what if there's a mirror in the way of the laser
*gasp*
It *BENDS*
Omg I just imagined your pastor looking at you like "whaaaattt" 🤣
Me tho 😂
@@crimsonroses56 It went something like this XD
*Me talking to a friend:* Yeah, usually I'll listen to Metal, usually thrash through BM, and occasionally some rap.
*Pastor:* Scremo doesn't glorify God (-_-) it's all angry and people usually talk about bad stuff ( paraphrased )
*Me:* Actually... Not all of it is bad, Grave Declaration and Impending Doom are good bands, and in psalm 150 it says to praise the Lord with loud and crashing symbols *Long debate ensues*
Thankfully it wasn't an ugly argument, we ended up agreeing to disagree on some aspects, and agreeing with each other on others.
I'm part of his youth staff now and we get along well despite our different tastes :)
@@gatorcopter It was a figure of speach, but you are correct ;)
The best time to come out is April fools day cause you can tell your parents it’s a joke if they get mad
Good idea
Me: haha, you look like a lesbian
My Sister: says the girl who wanted to go to a pride parade once
Me: *nervous chuckle*
This sounds familiar😂 my brother once said to me "I'm still convinced that you're a lesbian", he was joking but I answered "Well, I'm bisexual".
That was epic
My dad: “Stay away from boys they’ll use you and then leave.”
Me: *comes out as a lesbian *
My dad: *N O*
lol
“wait so what am I then?”
“ACE”
Logic?
Never heard of her
PLS SAME
my mom told me that lol and I'm pan
I feel safer out in public as my sexuality than at home. I am BI🌈🏳🌈
@• アシュリー • Ashley • same
If you don't feel safe about being bi at home then...
RUN FOREST RUN!!
Cool
I'm transgender *insert support*
I'm also bi
it's sad i feel safer confessing i'm gay out to my friends rather than my parents
me: dad i need to talk to you about something
dad: what
me: ok so i’m non-binary and-
dad: what’s that
me: *explains*
dad: cool. i don’t care who you are, you’re still my kid. can you help me take in the groceries?
I don't know why this is so fricken sweeeet awe
Why can’t I have a dad like thks

Me, a masc girl
My mom: you need to like more girly things
Me: *starts liking girls*
My mom: *insert surprised pikachu*
Lmao
Mum: act boyish lmao that's kinda funny, ALSO FUCKING CUSS >:D
Me: omgoshmaybeIcouldfinallyleavethedeckyes *literally tries to cut hair to donate and buys boy clothes, acts as a boy (not trans)
Mum: yo, you a girl hun ._.
Me: yeah, the deck's comfortable enough to stay in.
Religious homophobic parents ain't the best to come out to
Yet my mum doesn't do some stuff that the religion wants lmao
I'll just tell her when I move to another country lol
So I had a family session today at therapy (and by family I mean parents and older sister) and when they finished saying their bs, I stood up and came out, as trans
- boyflux - god it was a pain in the ass but ok, expected it to be worse.
Proud of myself ✨
Me too, also yes, always try to do it in public so if things go wrong or get violent, people see and can help
How to come out to your crush/friend
“Hey could you pass me that glue stick and also I’m gay”
I saw that in a show
I found one you could tell/text your friends: hey let me get something straight... I’m not.
Then they are like "Yeah here it is also I'm gay too"
Edit: For me it was "Hey ________ I'm pansexual."
"Hey bro same"
"Also I'm non binary"
" Same"
" And asexual"
"S a m e"
My friends seriously don't care, for me starting off on classmates are easyer to come out to than family cause my family is pretty homophobic...
Now my parents don't seem really homophobic but my granny doesn't like gays at all
Huuuuum I'm a lesbian but I liked a girl. Turns out that he's trans so he's a boy. So I can't just tell him that I'm gay because it would means "HI I LIKE GIRLS SO I DON'T LIKE YOU ! OKAY BYE" so huuuum I don't know what to do... Should I come out to him ? Or do I wait ? Should I even tell him ?
Person: *Comes out as LGBTQ+*
Homophobe:
*YOU’RE JUST CONFUSED*
RandomKC It's stupid because, like, do they think people in lgbtq+ weren't confused for years before finally deciding? It's when they finally aren't confused and are finally confident enough to tell people and then those assholes try to tell them what they are and aren't.
The thing i find funny about it is just under one RUclips video there's probably thousands of poeple supporting each other os....what?! Love is love
My mom: It’s just a phase
Me: no, being straight was my phase.
I don't get why homophobes keep doing what they're doing and they think what they're doing is working but in reality we just don't want listen and not give a flying
CONFIUSON OF DA HIGHEST ODA
- once said Pastor Seempa
"mom i'm pan"
"what does that mean?"
"it means I can like anybody bc of personality not bc of gender"
"so you would like girls?"
"yes."
"that's a sin"
"haha just kidding mom"
-conversation from 2019 during roadtrip
doodlxes that’s what happened to me but I did not say it was a joke
Me reading this for the first time
"Mom I'm in pain"😂😂
Not hating,Btw thx for explaining better what pansexuality is bc whenever I searched for sexualitys I never understood pan.
well that was just a summarization but I really think of it as not seeing gender at all I consider people, people not a gender well that’s just my way of explaining it at least 🤷♀️
@@whizher4887 wait so then why does gender exist? ;-;
emily brown so people can tell who’s who ig? I don’t really know -.-
I've already come out to my little brother.
He understood why I don't want to tell mom
that I'm aro-ace because I am required to
marry a boy like everyone else.
I would be crying right now without my brother.
I hate how the norm is straight, why can’t people just see it’s normal. Why can’t they accept that being gay or anything like being gay is the same as being straight.
Ik they should have the same rites
Catalina Muñoz Agopian lol just make sure to not be too obvious!
Beacause they think that you become gay not born a gay
Channel Impossible bro that’s a dumb reason 😭😭 but thanks for telling me the reason
If anything, ppl should start off as bi or somthin, and then when they get old enough to comprehend relationships choose their paths
Me: Bro im a lesbian
Bro: I thought you were American
Gamer18384 😂 i love that meme 😂

@@xanthemothcat OMG right!
I finally came out to my step-mom she supported me
I’m crying from happiness
My `friend´ started yelling at me because `you're not allowed to be trans!´ she still wonders why I cut ties with her.
Wow, that's some "friend" ya got there
i bet theyre ur bff 🙄
Im happy you’re not in that toxic relationship anymore, you deserve better 😤
Can I slap some sense into them please
Some of my friends chant "girl girl girl girl" around me... I just came out as ftm. I understand how you feel :(
As I was watching this my sister literally yelled to me “Don’t come out!”. It had nothing to do with being gay (although I have already come out to her), but I was just thinking like “damn, ok...”
@A Person oof.... that’s sad, I feel you. :T
Me: *telling my mother that I’m Pan and that I dont like being a girl or a boy*
Her: Its cause of your gay/Trans friends at school
Me: *trying not to scream in Alien*
Alternate ending:
Her: IT'S BECAUSE OF THAT DANG PHONE!
Btw Me too NON-BINARY ASEXUAL PANROMANTICS FOR LIFE
*sighs in trans gay* relatableeee

Omg I’m pan and non binary to!
I told a friend and they just said they didn't care. That's probably the best reaction I could've got.

Niamh Mason same!!!
from my experience, I recommend trying to casually talk about the LGBTQ+ community with the person first, to grasp a sense of how they feel towards it, and once you’re sure you’re safe and ready, come out to them!
however, maybe don’t talk about the community for too long or too much before coming out, because the person might clue on that you’re part of the community and your coming out may feel rushed/not as you had planned :)
THIS HAPPENED TO ME LMAL
This is a meaningful comment but I'm focused on your profile pic xD (I love Dan uwu)
Sarah_bts _ aw same here
D.T.E. thank you! and yes I do too lol

I feel like I was influenced? When I was young I would always play these girl dress up games and I think that’s what made me uhh *gay*
I identify as an asexual panromantic lesbian - if that makes sense...
I also remember having a crush on Ariana Grande back in 2019 akakakakka
Aight I’ll go now and ik nobody asked, but just ignore my comment if you don’t want to read it lol
DAMNNN. THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT MY DAD SAID.
It’s also the reason why I don’t live with him any more 🤠👍
My dad didn’t believe me lmfao
Me: ok you can come out as nonbinary your family is ok with that
My anxiety: I’m gonna stop you right there
@Tropyckal Frogge sameee
@Tropyckal Frogge ya I was so close yesterday but I literally couldn’t say anything I even couldn’t breath for like a minute ( low key thought I was dying) but I’m still very alive and very non binary

Also good luck to anyone trying to come out, if the people you’re coming out to won’t accept you, don’t worry, there’s an entire community that will.
