really enjoyed your journey with this series. of all the marvel tv series, this one caught me off guard the most in a positive sense. really looking forward to the home alone finale
Yea alot of people were hating on thsk show but I actually really liked it. It's was not only really good it was different. Hope they make a seas two. But after the feedback from the audience... Idk..
Fantastic episode. The whole Partition story and Aisha was really well done. Kamala’s journey relies so much on her family. So many heroes don’t have a family to lean on. It’s a refreshing take on that trope.
Isn't it cool that Kamala got to save her grandmother as a child and crazy that she got to meet her great-grandmother, Aisha, even though it was very tragic that she had to watch her die? She got to experience her people's (and her family's) history across nearly 80 years.
I didn’t know how India and Pakistan became separate countries after British rule, it led me into learning so much about the history of the Indian subcontinent. It is sooo important to diversify shows and movies this way, we don’t even know what we don’t know in this world. It’s insane how the British capitalized the political fragmentation of the time to get power there. I am glad you are liking this show! I love it, I also love the marvels I don’t understand the hate tbh, Kamala alone makes it worth it!
The way they handle family in this show is so damn good! It's not often family relations in a superhero property actually feel believable, but here they absolutely *_nailed_* it.
I fucking love how they did a title card intro for this episode. Nice touch. What I love more is they provide a brief history of The Partition. We're learning something.
There were probably a couple reasons why the Clandestine were turned to ash and bone trying to go through the portal back home. One, they were exiled and probably could never return or two, they probably needed both bangles to make the jump. One bangle might be cheating.
That's the fantastic Fawad Khan playing the grandfather. He's also been in a few Bollywood movies and shows. He's a Pakistani actor. Unfortunately he along with many other Pakistani actors and singers were banned from appearing in Indian movies after the political standoff between the two countries.
I agree, I had forgotten it was him playing the grandfather, I was pleasantly surprised again. Also, just to be clear, there wasn't any legal restriction ever, or any permanent limitation of any sort of Pakistani actors acting in India. It was a temporary souring on Pak due to a terrorist attack on Indian troops. The movie Fawad acted in was released in theaters and he was well liked for it, as did other movies that featured Pak actors at the time.
I find it funny how they changed Kamala, from the comics, who was an Inhuman but they decided to, partly, use what happens to Inhumans when they change. They get covered in a husk and break out, which they used for their deaths, at the portal.
Homeboy really wanted a 16 year old to not want to see the good in someone!!? Her mentor in the mosque said that good is something you do!! I find that when people watch a review shows they don't understand the show is about how the characters would react in a situation not how they would react in a situation.
Quinn with 'KGF' reference line there hehe 😄 & cool flashback episode of Aisha & Najma seeing more backstory & Kamala was the legend it was all about wow! & touching moment of giving photo of Ammi to Sana, now we're all set for finale, like Quinn said, let's hope it's a good one!
18:50 she's a lot like Peter Parker when he was new to his powers. Always trying to save everybody, which, yeah, it's admirable, but you can't save everybody EVERY time. And just like Peter, she just saw it and I don't think that lesson totally sunk in.
As much as I love this series, I have one major complaint: making the Djinns and Najma act like caricatural villains. Najma had her son Kamran, 18 years before the start of the show. This little detail means something. And this could have left the door open for a story built in parallel to Aisha's story. In the past, Aisha gets to meet the love of her life, lucky lady. Meanwhile, in the decades that follow the murder of Aisha, Najma experiences nothing but hardships and awful experiences with mankind. Until one day, Najma finally falls in love with a human... only for this human to be a terrible person (or just to ditch her as soon as he learns she's pregnant, why not). This could have explained why, today, Najma gets triggered as soon as she feels even slightly betrayed: the one and only time she softened and opened up, she got betrayed and that scarred her even worse than decades of bad memories. And that could have pushed her over the edge and deepened her need to go home asap, no matter the cost. Not saying this would have justified her behaviour. But a story like this would have explained her attitude.
A few of the MCU TV shows suffer the same problem. It’s like they cut out important character development of villains to save time or money. But they should know from the success of the films that is an important element of story telling.
I'm the exact opposite. Comic villains are supposed to be mustache twirling evil. That's the only way the genre makes any sense. Super heroes literally beat up and blast them. And you want to see the heroes do that since watching cool fights with superpowers is awesome. To justify that, the villain has to be so evil as to never put the thought into your head that maybe the hero could have resolved this peacefully since that thought can ruin the experience. In recent series and movies they've tried too hard to make the villains be less evil and justify their actions. Take this series. Yes, Najma tries to kill Kamala, she's completely unreasonable, and yet... She just wants to get home. And maybe she doesn't really believe that her getting home is going to cause the destruction people keep telling her it will, and in the end, she changes her mind and closes the portal to save everyone instead. If she had stayed unreasonably evil the whole time we could feel good about what happened. But in the end we're left with vague feelings of "this should have gone a different way, everyone could have gotten along." This has kind of been happening to most of the recent villains in marvel shows and movies. Instead of ending with a "heck yeah! That villain got his butt kicked HARD. I got to see an awesome battle and everything turned out for the better" , we got "I'm not sure how to feel about this" as an ending. This goes double for the last episode of this series.
I would highly recommend that you look into the history of the partition of the Indian subcontinent. This is a story that not many people in the West are aware of. There have been several South Asian movies/dramas on this exact time period. All I would say is that it is is one of the most devastating periods of human history. The train scene that they showed in this movie is only a small glimpse of how bad the situation actually was. Millions of people were displaced from their homes and thousands were murdered as they were migrating from one part of the subcontinent to the other. There are still families who have old relatives/grand-parents that recall the horrors they experienced during the partition of the subcontinent.
I must admit that I’ve enjoyed all of the MCU shows so far, Ms Marvel was a great show. I hadn’t really read much Marvel since the 90’s but I’ve started buying the books again once the storyline is told. The only character that I haven’t seen on any of the MCU, and the ABC and Fox shows (before we started getting weekly shows direct to Disney+) is Blue Marvel (get The Answer to check the encyclopaedia) read him for the first time in the recent Defenders: Beyond story (not the Netflix Defenders related)
I really enjoyed this series but the biggest issue i had was it kinda felt like the major conflict they were building up the whole series was resolved in this episode. This episode feels more of a big finish than 6 does imo
I really hated the baddies in this series, thought they were the worst Marvel's done, but I loved everything else about the series. Kamala's family especially.
From my research after this episode, Partition was a horrible time much worse than what is displayed here. The show did a great job introducing a very bad time in history
Ms Marvel was a solid season, and could have been better with a season 2. But The Marvels is absolute garbage, probably the worst Marvel movie of all time. Even Captain Marvel was better slightly. Still i think they could have done alot more with Kamala in the MCU, well i have heard she may return in The 2 Avengers movies coming up. I don't know, what these directors are doing with this character in future projects, but a season 2 is needed.
The worst marvel movie ever is wild Lolol. Kamala khan alone makes that movie worth watching more than others and it’s a fun watch. Definitely not the best at all. But it’s not the worst
Thankfully they watch stuff without checking what social media thinks, which unfortunately often dictates popular opinion on these things. I’ve watched this with them for the first time without checking online and found it to be fairly enjoyable.

3:43 I agree Oak she has crazy beautiful eyes!!
I think she's drop dead gorgeous as a whole❤.
@@prathapkutty7407 yes I agree 💯 (✿ ♡‿♡)
Pakistani beauty
@@RandomzzOfficial yes she is 🥰
I fucking love how they did a title card intro for this episode. Nice touch. What I love more is they provide a brief history of The Partition. We're learning something.
Marvels Halloween special would be perfect for the halloween time WereWolf By Night
RUclips members already got it if plans didn't change. We'll likely see it soon.
There were probably a couple reasons why the Clandestine were turned to ash and bone trying to go through the portal back home. One, they were exiled and probably could never return or two, they probably needed both bangles to make the jump. One bangle might be cheating.
I think it’s probably a bit of both. It reminded me of the terrain mist from inhumans.
I thought this series was beautiful. Really in-depth conversation about a part of history we don’t learn enough about.

I'm glad yall enjoyed the flashback. Some reactors complained it was unnecessary/didn't push the plot forward
I was pleasantly surprised with this series. Coming off of She-Hulk and not sure where these Marvel series were going, I really enjoyed this series.
I find it funny how they changed Kamala, from the comics, who was an Inhuman but they decided to, partly, use what happens to Inhumans when they change. They get covered in a husk and break out, which they used for their deaths, at the portal.
She was feeling sympathy for kamran, not the mother
This episode was absolutely amazing.
10:30 I’m surprised no one mention that Harry Potter scene where he thought his father saved him but he saved hisself
Dude, she is *such* an attractive woman. Like, it should not be legal to be that attractive.
She looks like a supermodel❤.
Homeboy really wanted a 16 year old to not want to see the good in someone!!? Her mentor in the mosque said that good is something you do!! I find that when people watch a review shows they don't understand the show is about how the characters would react in a situation not how they would react in a situation.
I love how they show a bit of the backstory of the women who was tryinf to go home.
honestly my favorite episode!

@@Zamrod I like the "I'm not sure how to feel about this", it's feels more mature. Also there are still villains who are real villains.

It is because of this show, I learned about The Partition. I don't ever remember learning about it in school.
It’s the bootstrap paradox when it comes to one event causing a second event which then causes the first event due to time travel.
The railway station scene was shot in Atlanta. My friend was an extra.

in 1 hour, the AOT season 4 reaction premiers. I have my alarm ready, and my food is on the way.

I'm pretty sure they said at the time this came out that it was only ever going to be 1 season. This was to bring Kamala from the comics into the MCU
I love the mcu 😅but please don't get mad I find that show was plain out shit
🤮
im surprised you guys like this show. most people think its trash. nothing with the actress, just poor writing
