I'm bout to start fresh, i like the simple frame pillars like along the desert area, but i think around the main base and outposts i love that double rail design with the lightpost in the median. Was thinking making the "ground floor" of the main base a transport hub, and the tunnel designs would be fantastic for incoming and outgoing trains, and a sorting hub in the center to raise materials to the storage banks on the floor above OH GOD SO MANY IDEAS MUST GO PLAY
I like using the 2m wide concrete columns to support the rail every 20 or so meters and just keep it elevated above the terrain enough so the big animals do not clip through. it gives the rails a much more natural look as they gently wind through the terrain just like a real trail line would do but with the concrete pillars and track design giving it more of that classic monorail look which is very nice.
Do you have another video like this? I am trying to make an attractive train line that is on an arch (transverse, not longitudinal) so that stuff can go underneath it. The pillars holding up the center of the train line just gets in the way. This video didn't have any design like that, but it's something I know you could make beautiful and inspirational.
Considering I don’t have a lot of creative or architectural skills, I’ve gone with a simple, utilitarian look for my sky rails using pillars and metal walls to support my train lines.
Could you please cover "The Loop" in satisfactory with trains? I want to create a worldwide train network but I don't know where to start or where to go on the map. Thanks!
That kind of tracks is extremely tedious to make when not using smartmod. it would give you RSI :) I reserve that for train stations only and short runs near factories. I usually go with the shiny slender building pillars for supports. In the wild, as much as possible i do it freehanded trying to follow the natural 'roads' going through the biomes, using foundations when the terrain is too jagged or when building bridges obviously. Since i mainly use a single locomotive as my shuttle to go from place to place, I much prefer those train rides instead of long straight lines.
Awesome designs, all of them. I especially like the double streetlights with the hidden wires as I detest the need for power wires. Imho all aesthetics go out the window once you add the poles and wires. Foundations should automatically be connected to power, eliminating the need for spaghetti in each and every build or factory.
It takes a few clicks of placing and replacing them, but I get there eventually. Try to use a point of reference like how far the track is from the side of the foundation
It's X not Twitter ^^ :D (It's still Twitter to me too though) Great builds as always! Also loving your Enshrouded series. Hopefully you'll also play Nightingale, can't wait to see what you would build in that game.
I have taken to utilizing simple concrete or metal pillars as supports for the rails, BUT - I also use the architectural beams at very shallow, oblique angles to create super smooth, naturally gliding curves that look and ride beautifully. Once the track is laid and I'm satisfied with the angle, I can trim the beams down by changing the build mode to freeform and placing new ones inside the old ones, four units across so they fit neatly ontop of the small inverted pillar support, then remove the old beam. This method looks much more realistic, and lets you conform the rails to the terrain, rather than rely strictly on a large flat grid of foundations/roadwork. I came up with this solution because I strongly disliked how rails have to 'level out' when changing elevation, and at a distance it just looks ugly - but a smooth, gliding rail is elegant and adds to the aesthetic, I think.
Mostly they can be set up to automate bringing resources from elsewhere in the map. For example if you have a specific part being manufactured in one part of the map. You can use the train lines to move them to a central location or wherever you need them. However I mainly use them for personal transportation to get across the world faster than running or driving.
No offense, lad, but what you've done here is made electric locomotive look abit more 'steamish'. I mean, monorail concept was designed tp support itself, such an inner-framed pipe, without any additional foundations or excessive pillar setups (well.. except some fair anchoring, to hold the weight). It looks natural, being as naked as it is. That said.. i admire your building skills.
Let me know your favourite rail design and what would you like to see me cover in a future video?
My favorite is when the tracks are on pillar middles with the pillars expanding the further down they go

Comrade, I use nature
Really loving your rail designs, even if I don't really have the patience for lategame complex satisfactory builds right now
Could you please cover "The Loop" in satisfactory with trains?
I want to create a worldwide train network but I don't know where to start or where to go on the map.
Thanks!
Same
Figured it out?
@@sirpale Nope
just hypertube cannon all over the map to get a birds eye view of the topology (sorry your comment is 3 years old lmfao)
I absolutely love this, amazing looking setups. Good work
My friend and me used pillar middle- and tops as the floors.
At 2:00 how did you zoop across multiple lines? It's there a shortcut i missed?
this is litteraly the exact video I needed

I did the tube design with my hypertubes but I never even thought of using them with trains
I can see you making a suspension bridge when we get update 5 with beams :)
And there are my worldwide large rail who merges perfectly with nature
Just about to unlock trains for the first time so this video came out just in time to make my world great
I would love to see Coffee Stain add the double lights to the Game.

Power wires can be a lot of fun if they're placed right, with the Zipline tool
how do you paint the train?
You can't yet, but we're hoping for the vehicle update we will be able to
Love your videos, I get so much inspiration from them for my builds!
Also don't forget to make it two way because of the new train signals coming with update 5
Nice
Is that a mod that lets you build multiple objects? Or is that a base feature?
That's the smart mod
@@clemenswolfbartl5138 Thanks! Just got it on SMM.
Thank you for these rail tips and designs. I will make use of some of them. 😃
Gorgeous I love the designs.
Which mod are you using which allows you to lay multiple foundations at once
i wanna know how do you get the diagonal lines to be smooth and straight.. i always get them slightly curved
It takes a few clicks of placing and replacing them, but I get there eventually. Try to use a point of reference like how far the track is from the side of the foundation
@@TotalXclipse alright.. shall try later thank you 😊
5:55 But how do you make them clip, I can‘t figure it out😅

Great builds as always! Also loving your Enshrouded series.
Hopefully you'll also play Nightingale, can't wait to see what you would build in that game.
you know... would be kinda fun if they introduce optional structual integrity for us to consider, but fat chance for that ever happening.
Give me a reason to build things that aren't ugly and nonsensical? Yeah...
How do you get these video flybys in the intro?
Absolutely spot on.Instant sub:)
I got that game 3 day ago. So my question here, how did you build multiple objects in one row? Is that a mod or so?
That's smart mod :)
Inspiring!
What’s the zoop mod you’re using?
It's not a mod. Just change build modes
I refuse to build rail lines until they give us 45 degree triangle foundations.
I hate you, you made so damn cool builds. Great job.
I would like to see you revisit this after the latest updates. Rails have really changed.
Probably will happen 😉

I love the designs, but I like to see more stuff without mods and clipping.
So is this update 5 friendly?
Wath for a Building Mod do you use?
Smart!, if you use mod manager it should be easy to find it.
i know that section in the game is for the easy spam doing to the oil more close
is that a mod he is using to build like that?
Круто конечно строит!
I basically play this game in order to mess around with trains
Is that a mod that instantly makes the parts you build being painted in a color or black/white?
Change the first color in the color gun
10:38 you are RaysTrainlines
He's Raytracings brother
Another great idea m8
why do my rails curve all over the place regardless when placing a straight line of tracks??????
on which tier i can unlock jetpack to fly like you?
He’s using a mod to fly but jet pack is tier 6 and hover pack is tier 7

I love them
Since when do trains and rails exist! Sheesh maybe leaving the game to update a "little" for 2 years was an under statement
very nice
and now make video with the help of mods and trains. like the Structural Solutions mod.
What's the purpose of the trains? I ended up skipping them.
