If west charlotte wins state I think this wakes up a sleeping giant. I'm from shelby and remember west charlotte being the topic of conversation. So good game and stay hungry from one lion to another.
Hickory had a bad turnover game. Taking out the QB who can handle snaps in a close 3rd quarter game and snapping to a RB went totally downhill. That 1 yard line fumble cost them a score and being scored on. #5 Ellis Chappell for Hickory is a hell of a wide receiver and very fast. West Charlotte DBs were better than Hickory had seen in there 30 game win streak. They were the difference. Great year for both. Fayetteville 71st is a great running team. The title game will be 71st run vs West Charlotte defensive line.
I have heard rumors that both the 71st QB and RB/LB #9 both sustained injuries in the Jacksonville game and both have to sit out the title game against West Charlotte. QB with leg injury, #9 with hand/wrist injury. My source is very reliable but I dont want to believe him because I really want 71st to win. Anybody else out there that can confirm these injury rumors or at least heard the same?
@78dogrun I'd say there is a very good chance 71st wins. They have been knocking on the door the past two years. They are going to kick it in this year.
@PowidzMalwa West Charlotte just beat a team that was 11-1 by a score of 58-0, then beat two undefeated powerhouse teams, Dudley and Hickory by multiple scores. They are as hot as it gets and now it's on a neutral field. I believe they will win by 28 plus. Nothing against 71st, but it's just WC year!
@78dogrun I think its going to be a very good game. West Charlotte may very well win but not by 28 points. You say West Charlotte is hot, that's true, but 71st has been hot for 3 years now. Got to eastern finals in 2022, and state title game now 2 years in a row. They are tough, nobody is routing 71st.
@PowidzMalwa guess we shall see. I would argue that Dudley and Hickory are much better than 71st and they both got beat pretty bad. Should be a fun one to watch though.
@g-h-l it's true. I live in Charlotte and cover high school football. The way they acted at Erwin was awful, and Hickory was not much better. They are a great team but lack any class at all!
Dub C… You Knowwww!! My old high school we do this shit!
This program looks strong. Love seeing hardwork paying off.
West charlotte defense is legit af. Hickory qb is nice to. Them receivers at hickory hands made of stone 😂

Going be a good game against 71st high school from Fayetteville. It’s going be a show….

WEST CHARLOTTE STARTED OUT SLOW , HICKORY LOOK WELL POLISHED 1st HALF.
Why did Hickory stop running the ball?
71st will beat West Charlotte.
No chance

2 RED ZONE TURNOVERS COST HICKORY THE GAME
West Charlotte is really good but they have zero class.
Coach sets that example for players.
😭😭 keep crying
