      I just got a better rotary cutter and I think that could work too. You will be able to get more pressure by adding the Cricut heat press mat, but I wanted a really firm mat like I have on my other heat press so I ended up opting for the one from Amazon. Thanks for watching!

    Good idea on cutting the pressing mat to fit. I bought a mat a couple weeks ago, but haven't tried it yet. I have the light blue version of the HTVRont auto heat press and like it so far, but felt it needed a firmer mat. Going to go get a platen cover now. Love the tips!

  • @andreastewart4215
    @andreastewart4215 Год назад +1

    I'm so glad that I watched your video. I caused my pad to have a permanent dent from trying to sublimate on photo slate. I had bought a Teflon sheet for the upper platen and the bottom plate as well as the same foam pad you have in your vid. I still had some uneven spots for sublimation, but I felt vindicated that someone had done the same thing as well. However, you took it one step further and trimmed the mat to fit. 🤯Mind blown! Didn't think of that. I will try that and maybe I won't have the cool spots. So far I've added an extra mat for added pressure, and that has helped, but maybe I need to trim the mat so that my projects are on a flat surface. Thank you for sharing.

    We loved this press when we first received it in January 2023. We only use it moderately (less than 6 items pressed per use per month). Now it is August 2023 and it will not close. It heats up perfectly but when we try to press it closes and pops right back open and the controls start blinking. It has also started making a grinding noise. I contacted warranty support as the press is under warranty, they responded requesting videos of the problems, we emailed videos back, they responded with they couldn't open the videos (they are too stupid to download them and use a player to view them), we uploaded the videos to our you tube channel (cause everyone has one of those) and sent them the links....There response was to give them significant time to troubleshoot the problem and they would get back to me. I’m sure enough time for my warranty to expire. I asked them point blank to honor their warranty and replace the press…Crickets!!!! Others here have complained about these same issues in the reviews. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!! I'll update this review if something changes.

    Hi, Marilyn. Talk about DIY. Good to know if I ever invest in this press. I got the 12x10 Vevor you demo'd. I really like it. I didn't find an upper platen cover, but it's small enough that I could wrap a Teflon sheet all the way around and attach to the top with strong magnets. I'd seen another crafter do that. Nice to meet you, Marilyn! The fabric was cotton. I had cut up a gray t-shirt and it was part of the T-shirt.

    Hi Marilyn, I’ve only used my press three times. The last time I used it, there were like popping sounds coming from it as it heated up. Has this happened with yours. My mat is lumpy as well after using it only three times.

      I have not had popping sounds from this press. I have had some noise from my other press, but not loud popping noise. Does it still work okay, hopefully? Yes, that mat is problematic and in my opinion, they need to use different ones that will allow better and more even pressure. But then again, I'm no engineer:)

    THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!! I went round and round with them sending them the pictures they requested along with every other piece of information/evidence they asked for. When I demanded they either replace the unit or give me a refund they informed me that I had to pay for return shipping unless it was a quality problem. The fact that I couldn't make a shirt that was good enough to be sold wasn't a quality problem? I contacted my bank and disputed the charge. After 2 weeks the temporary credit the bank put on my account was made permanent. Evidently the company never responded to their request for information. So buyer beware. You could be stuck with a large door stop. I went back to my manual press so I could get orders out.

    I followed the link for the telflon top platen cover and it does not fit the HTV Ront heat press, they must have changed the size since 2022. when Marilyn put it on her machine it went on like a glove, not so with the actual cover, it doesn't fit and there are plenty of reviews on Amazon that say the same thing. What a waist of my money!

      Oh no! I hate that. I do see that two people said it didn't fit right. I would definitely send it back. Sounds like it is hit or miss. I'm sorry you had that experience.
