The woodworking is solid, but I was most impressed by your artistry, something that I feel is being lost in a lot of modern videos that copycat one another. This was a unique idea which took a unique mind to generate. Well done, sir.
You are the Rembrandt of woodwork !!! Dutch details and strong design ....the old table was upcycled to grace Buckingham palace for sure !!! Thanks from England TB
No homie... the LED strip looks perfect. To a child, it will look like a magic dust trail. You did an amazing job and i cannot wait to start my own wood working shop, thanks to the confidence your video has given me.
That's nice! Just do it! I found out, it's not about the place you have or the tools you have, it's only about the need you feel inside to create. Do it! 😊👍👍 I wish you all the best with it!
i like the fact that you made this from an old table, which is effecient & also the hanging light made out of that scrap & thanks you took time to go out & show your lovely spring...Never been to Netherland but that was a good gesture...thank you
The entire time i was watching your video, I was picturing my 3 year old granddaughters ballet class spinning around in their tutus performing the nutcracker for their Christmas Recital. I love your table! especially with the little girls dancing around it.
Seriously. This was the ONLY time I EVER enjoyed the music in an instructional video. EVER! 1) It wasn't too loud. 2) The song wasn't obnoxious. 3) The music wasn't being played over someone speaking.
So very imaginative, beautiful and cool!!!! The LED lights look like a trail of hot golden coals spralled out in a line amoung the rocks, like after someone stepped in each place they left hot golden embers behind!! If you want more of a glow maybe try dropping the LEDs down by adding one more and placing back to back and then up against the underside center with the lights facing out sideways, and then adding a reflective surface around the edges of the underside of the rocked area, angled up towards the strips in center of table so the light will reflect off of the reflective surface an back up at the underside of the surface from edge to center. I think that will light the underside up like I think you were expecting and wanted!! Wonderful build, I subbed!!!
Overall, masterful craftsmanship, very unique approach on restoring an old coffee table, and good use of their resourcefulness in not wasting anything.
This video is more relaxing then a meditation video. Thank you for making and posting these videos. I'm loving all your creative projects. Looking forward to what you do next!
I would love to do something like this with my gigantic (but all handpicked) collection of agate! Beautiful work! I do hope you were able to enjoy more of your Dutch springtime!
I'm a carpenter and that was such a cool idea. Many of my customers get rid of old furniture for new stuff after I remodel their houses so what a great idea this would be to reuse some of their old pieces to make new especially when they have sentimental value but they just don't match the new stuff. AWESOME! Thank you for sharing!
The past times where I've gotten sick brought pleasure than seeing somebody cutting unsymmetrical jagged a hole in the table and then fill it with epoxy and rocks
The classical music and the sound of tools running in the background, made me think of a psychopath having his way with a victim!!!! EeeKkk! I think I watch too many bad movies LOL but the table is beautiful Bravo
You can get a logo 3d printed, it just takes a bit of your time in sketchup, and if you design a bit on the backend where you can cut threads afterwards you can make a handle on it (by turning some wood) and there you go.
Nicely balanced and well done all around. And don't knock yourself....it couldn't have worked out better. Finally...THANK YOU FOR AN OUTSTANDING SOUNDTRACK....!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you... Sorry to disagree, but it could have been better - that's the way you learn. Now I would have poured the epoxy and sanded and polished it. The end result would have been slightly flatter and more shiny than it is now... Yeah I like Tchaikovsky too... 😊😊
@@Onrust1 Better ? Perhaps yes. But even Michelangelo was never completely satisfied with his work. Perfection is not for man. One's best at the time is admirable and speaks well for its maker.
Fantastic and very innovative project!!! Really enjoyed it!!!! Before i saw this, I was watching a woman from across the big pond whitewashing and destroying a wooden table with paint..... This is like from another dimension!!! Well done!! Keep creating!!!
I was just mesmorized with the finish piece. The part you cut out of the table I thought was the piece to bring the whole thing together and if really flowed together. Loved the idea of the LED Strip down the center and the dimming light. When you did the close up of the center I kept waiting for water to flow down with tiny fish haha. Took me back to fishing at a small Brook with those types of rocks. Thanks for sharing
Woah. Incredible workmanship. You are a true artist, my friend. Perfect choice of music. Seems to convey your heart about your project. Video and project well as executed. Bravo! 👏👏👏👍❤️
Very nice project in total. I like the idea of using the remnant wood as a lamp. If I would change something that would be the stones into something a little more transparent and probably add more strips of LED underneath
Firstly, THANK YOU! My most favourite piece of Tchaikovsky, ever! I loved every single second of this video. Your editing, was fantastic, I appreciate the little captions saying what you’re doing and saying when things didn’t go according to how you envisioned, I loved the shots of your “Dutch spring” and lastly, I absolutely LOVE the end result. I appreciate it was a lot of hard work, time and effort but it truly is a beautiful piece. Thank You so much for sharing.x
Love the table, that was gorgeous when you finished...but the overhead lighting from the piece you cut out of the table has to go..no good...not attractive at all. Lighting under the table to shine up through the rocks in the table, now that would be breathtaking. But good work my friend, I saw how much time and work went into that entire job. Thank you for sharing.
I agree, the light overhead was trying to re-use the cut-out, but it does not work, esthetically. The resin lake bottom with pebbles is magical, and the shape is not noticed because the pebbles are so dramatic. Then you see the shape of the light and it destroys the magic of the table. Sorry!
Great skill level! I watch these types of vids all the time to learn so I can soon make some pretty things of my own. I love the resin and the stones idea. I'd love to do it with cut bits of glass. As a woman I'm worried about how much some of these heavy duty tools are and if I'll be able to wield them for lengthy periods of time, but I'm determined to try. So anyway thanks for taking the time to make this vid. It helps some of us people who don't know how to do these things learn a bit of great craft from someone with a great skill level!
Kangsl is right! the lamp (or table) needs to be rotated 180 degrees! Look at the circles at the ends of the lamp: the right side has many circles while the left side has only one circle. Compare that pattern with the circles in the table and you'll see it's rotated!
You're all off. As you can see somewhere in the beginning, to prevent the piece of falling (breaking) in, I screwed a beam on top of it. Because of those three screw holes, I couldn't use what used to be the top of the wood for the upside of the lamp. So I had to flip it over and use the bottom side as top. Therefore it now never 'fits' the table anymore, no matter how you turn it (yes, if you let the light shine UP! ..LOL :-). I guess that's how you learn. I should have never used the screws, I could have clamped the center wood. But back then I didn't know what to do with it anyway....
I was so intent on watching the video, I kept forgetting to read what was on the screen. Then when I did remember, and read the question, do you remember the piece that was cut out earlier... I nodded in agreement, and said out loud yeah, I remember. Nice work!
Same here. I thought "Is he going to show the LED light in the table?"... and there it was. The streak of light reminded me of lava. Of course, the lamp, which I hated, was in the way so, I couldn't get a proper look. Loved the table. Well done.
At first I thought easter egg as in something hidden within the video, but i think he could be talking about maybe an actual easter egg hidden with the rocks
Hey Onrust, I like your work and i am into art and carpenting too. Just tell me, which profession you have learned to be that good in carpenting ?! Greets, your german neighbour
Well, I studied and graduated in construction, so that helped, but apart from that I'm really more or less self-made.. Learning by doing. It goes for this table too; before this I never did anything with epoxy resin. The bus gave me a creative way of thinking, and the lamp (see my other two videos) made me aware of that. Before that, I never considered myself to be very creative, as in being able to create things out of nothing. Yeah, so much to learn about yourself... and that on my age..! :-) Grüsse nach Deutschland zurück, nächstes mal ganz in Deutsch! ;-)
you basically did a Venetian terrazzo floor in your table! great idea and it looks great. Mine would have to have some organized pattern with the rocks but just because I need some geometry in the midts of free forming

Thank you! Ideas? The idea was too simple for words: 'let's put something in resin in this table'. Now what to put in? Must be small, and a bit diverse in color... I quickly came out at pebbles or shells, and in the end chose the pebbles...
awesome job on the table. I couldn't tell if the grain of the overhead piece was inline with the table but I thought that would be a great touch if it did. Really nice. Now Im thinking about trying it.
Nice to hear that I at least started you thinking about it... :-) No the lamp is not inline with the table - that was no longer possible because in the beginning (as you can see) I screwed the beam on top of it, to prevent it from falling / breaking in. So there were three screw holes in the top of that piece. Because of those the top was damaged and I had to turn it upside down, and therefore it never can match the table. Unless I put the table upside down too... ;-) XD
