That is so incredibly beautiful & how talented...!! I Am just awe struck by this & all the other epoxy resin designs. Its just like prophecies stated that around 1980 the world would become more & more inundated with Higher Intelligent-Gifted-Creative Souls and this would keep increasing as we go along. Just when you think what has been invented...or done...achieved could go no higher....it does...!!!!!!! Levels that how could we even conceived such things back when I was growing up. Well...there I Am...I have arrived...I sound just like my parents...when I was a kid....when I was growing up....we had to walk in deep snow..to & from school..& we.... *laughs w/her green eyes sparkling* thank you for sharing your video w/us

I think you should have powered it with a USB connection, a button cell battery is pretty impractical for a nightlight. But love how it looks like snowpeaked mountains.

I had woodshop class in highschool wish we did something like these we did cutting boards heartboxes derby cars and other small thing I did a set of pen and pencil on my free time. Wish there was a woodshop class in my area I'd sign up right away

Check your local college for noncredit/continuing education classes. Your local woodshop could be helpful in locating. I found one in my area and they have tons of wood working classes from wood turning to building a work bench etc.

Absolutely beautiful, I only wish I had the materials to do this! I'm such a creative creature. And also....I want one of those! Consider using a push stick when using bandsaw to give a safe distance for your fingers. Safety first.

Great job, excellent vid :)
However, as an electrician and electrical engineer, i feel like i need to point this out... you might want to consider adding something like a 100 Ω resistor in series with the rest of the LED circuit. The reason for this is just so that you don't flare your LEDs on max current all the time and as such you gain a lot more battery life in the process. Cuz as it stands now, you only have what little resistance there are in the wires alone, and (spoiler alert) that ain't much :P
100 Ω should do you fine, but if you feel like you're missing some "omph" with that, then you can reduce it down to a 47 or 51 Ω one.

There is also some internal resistance in the battery, so it's not so bad. Depends on the LED nominal drop-voltage though.
True dat, but usually that internal resistance is so low that i'm pretty sure he's blasting that LED with over 200 mA or something when all they really need is 10 - 20 mA.
@@Vivec92 lithium "coin" cell batteries have quite high internal resistance. I've found some tests with LEDs of different colors, will not post any links here, but you may google the title "Some thoughts on throwies". It seems that for white and blue LEDs the current never exceeds 15mA, which is lower than nominal 20mA, but for red and yelow LEDs the current may be over nominal for several minutes (because of the lower voltage drop of the LED). Also, the intensity of the light seems to decrease quite fast over time while the battery discharges. And the video shows two LEDs connected in parallel, which roughly doubles the power consumption.
Overall, now I'm not convinced that the schematics shown in the video are practical for everyday use. For show it works, but not as a night light or similar.
I hope that someday I will have complete equipment and be able to continue the work of my late father, he used to work as a wood craftsman for tables like that .... amen

This lamp looks kinda like a mountain.
Mainly because of the wood having peaks.
And the white resin looks like snow in the mountain.
I had the same thought, it looks like a snowy rock face or mountain peak
