That's the same as a band/artist/act saying "Fuck these haters" and someone voices their opinion about the band/artist/act has declined compared to their earlier work and their dick riding fans going "HAHAHA LOOK SONG IS ABOUT HATERS AND HERE YOU ARE". 10/10, The lyrics in this song explains how much I HATE the Metal/Rock community as a whole, it’s honestly nothing but bitching and complaining about who’s the “truest of the true” or “the bigger better guy” and people thinking that they’re better than other people just because of the music they listen to / “this is what we have become a self absorbed population of scum” great song, I personally am a fan of more than one genre, yes I like metal but my head isn’t so far up my ass that I don’t bother to listen to other genres like Rock/Punk/Hip hop (anything really) Seriously If I don’t listen to any rock bands or switch up my favourite music genres I will straight up lose my sanity. The elitists and “people who listen to nothing but metal” will call me a poser but IDGAF I’m my own person and I don’t need to keep an image.

Phil Bozeman is like the fucking EPITOME of death metal vocals and crazy enough in their newest album Phil can actually sing and and has a pretty stellar voice even during clean melodic singing. In addition to their music being amazing they are absolutely badass awesome live if you like Mosh Pits(and i mean real moshing not that hardcore dancing shit)

I'm a fan of Whitechapel and honestly this is one of my favourite songs of them. The great rusty feel of the guitars, the awesome clear singing, plus I like how the video is shot.

This could be an unpopular opinion but metal bands have been around for decades and they are bound to change!! So what if not every album is a chugfest of "br00tal" breakdowns and hardcore lyrics ? There are hundreds and thousands of deathcore bands that can provide that for you, you can go listen to any deathcore band and get your daily dose of brutality. They're humans not a machines that are programmed to produce the same thing over and over again. Can't a band experiment and just have fun? I think they've proved themselves and are simply sick of repetition . With that being said, I enjoyed this song, and that's only an opinion, my opinion. Sorry for my shitty English lol!

Got the new album around 10 o'clock the night before it came out because I preordered it and I must say I got chills listening to this. There is progression here. If any of you had an ear for music you could see that. I guess only a few can tell though. This is the most widely ranged album they have put out to date. Somatic defilement was straight 2007 deathcore, this is exile was the updated 2009 deathcore, a new era of corruption was a chugfest, Whitechapel was their innovative self titled, our endless war yet again made innovations and differentiated them from other bands, and now the mark of the blade is another step forward. There are songs that range from a nu metal sound to thrash metal, and even some metalcore. My favorite songs are the ones with the different sound, like bring me home and a killing industry. Overall this album is progressive and inherently good. So far it is my favorite. But I'm a little biased because Whitechapel is my favorite band.

Here's my opinion on this whole album. ive listened to this album quite a bit and i gotta say it's one of my favorite Whitechapel album. yes it may not beat This Is Exile or The New Era Of Corruption (sorry if i got the name wrong), but this is next to their self titled album which I thought was a great album, a mix of old and new. Our Endless War wasn't a bad album, but it was their weakest one I'll admit that. Mark Of The Blade I feel is Whitechapel repairing themselves from Our Endless War, and is a big improvement over Our Endless War. This album includes cleans, and I'm glad because it adds something new and it matches perfectly for the songs they used it on. I bet their next album will be better for sure, not saying Mark Of The Blade was bad, but it seems as they're struggling. just like what happened with Marilyn Manson. I think this album is great, and I think it'll hold up in the future. and anyone in this comment section completely ripping this album a new one, you're really ignorant for doing that and it shows how insecure you are about music. at the end of the day, don't change your opinion just because someone else says so (I know that sounds completely random but hear me out). make your own damn opinion. they feel lifeless, when they played deathcore they had such a higher energy, that's what drew me to this band. I don't care about anything they put out anymore even though I will still listen to it, it doesn't excite me

+OMGIDestroyedMatter to me MOTB was the sound they were going for in OEW it just didn't seem pulled off very well. It was like a transition album to a more "mainstream" sound I guess. But this album overall seems much better put together. Let me burn was kinda boring after a few listens but you get songs like tremors which are super heavy and similar to lmb but they are so much better in my opinion

I think it's mostly due to the guitar tone. The guitar tone on this record sounds really geared for hardcore style riffs. If you ever listened to band called 2x4, the guitar tone is pretty identical.

It's funny. All of the people in the comments don't seem to get what music is all about. Expression. It's about creating something for yourself to translate your feelings for others to hear. It is not about the audience. It is about the artist. When people say "Don't like it, don't listen." It is a very simple and logical solution. But i get why people are dissing them. Everyone has this sense that what they say is indefinite. Like their word is law. But everyone needs to realize, that it is not about them.
