Thank you! Yes, most will be very similar. Not much has changed in the way they do gas tank setups for many years. I know my 636 was set up the same way.
Thanks for the video. My ignition key fell out of my hand and slid under the gas tank. Is it advisable to only loosen the tank at the front so that I can get under it with a few fingers or hand or should I better not do that? Can the ignition key end up in a place where it can be harmful or dangerous to the engine?
You can take out the front bolts and lift the tank to get access to it. Just be careful of the hoses. As for the key - honestly the biggest fear I would have is it working its way down and falling out, then you lose the key. Otherwise I don't think it can cause any harm, but undoing the front too bolts and lifting the tank isn't a big task. You'd still want to undo the top fairing pieces so you can move them out of the way of the tank to lift it, which that's just the pop clip and one bolt on each side.
Excellent video, thank you. I have to replace my entire tank with a new one. I assume it's okay to removed the tank pivot bolt(s) instead of the bracket bolts, or would make the process more difficult?
There is no specific torque on those bolts. They are 6mm bolts, and the default torque spec on 6mm bolts from the service manual is 8.0 Nm, 0.82 kgf-m, 71 in-lb. I'd use good judgment on how tight you think they should be.
Unfortunately I do not. I haven't go to that extent yet so do not have a video. I may be able to offer some guidance though, unless you have already figured it out? I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
Thanks a lot for the videos. I picked up a 1000sx last summer and your videos have been great!
Great to hear! Thanks so much for watching - I hope they continue to help.
Very well shot video with a great step by step! Hopefully other Kawasaki bikes are pretty similar. I imagine they would be for a tank removal.

Good Job 👌✌️ Thank you for this video
Thanks and you're welcome

Should be about the same. Just be careful not to dig the tank on the bracket when reinstalling
Great video! But I have a question abort torque values on the front and real tank bolts ? :)

@@BlueEyedRider84 Thanks! 😊
Lovely video 😀 is it allright and safe to get my ninja 1000 tank repainted in neon color
You can get your tank repainted whatever color you want - whatever makes you happy!
Got anything on removing the fuel injectors? I'm lost at how to get the throttle body offf
