- What more can I say about Les Claypool? I just love his playing and fearless creativity. He's always looking for new sounds and exploring new things to incorporate to his music. He never ceases to amaze me. BTW, I love this song!

I totally agree, not a great fun of bass covers but this song has a magic and your technique is flawless.
As a professional bassist and Primus nut for 25 years, this is the ONLY cover of Wynona’s BBB I’ve found online where someone has gotten it right. Even really amazing players like Charles Berthoud don’t get it right. You have to use 3 fingers on the right hand. You can do the main riff close enough without it. But try the triplets over harmonics sections without it. I get *close* with 2 fingers but not quite. Those other players always skip it because they know it’s wrong ;)

@@jannetoropainen9865 oh I’m not. I’ve spent hours getting very very angry with myself that I can’t get 3 right hand fingers to be articulate beyond a simple triplet at speed haha.

watching you play makes me wonder how in the fk can Les not only sing but play the bass like a god at the same time. I've seen him live 10+ times and he's been incredible every single time.
Les can't really sing, he just talks really fast or raps verses
well he isn't a good singer but merely speaking on time while playing these bass lines is an achievement by itself

As a bassist myself, you are truly awesome. You definitely capture the quirks of Les Claypool's style that make him such a unique bassist.
And people say bassist don't put in work, look at his right hand.
I hate to be the guy who says “the people who disliked this are....” but seriously; the accuracy, the tone, and overall feel is insane...whoever watches this and dislikes this kind of talent is envious or just a complete asshole

You can argue whether he's one of the best bassists ever, but damn did Les write some catchy tunes over the span of time. No matter how many times you listen to his tracks, you continue to be mesmerized.

How long did it take you to get down that 3 finger triplet right hand technique? It’s genuinely crazy. I’m pretty dang fast with two fingers but it’s impossible to get the feel of this riff right without using the 3 fingers raking the string. You’re one of the few I’ve seen nail that technique. Billy Sheenan is one of the few that plays that way well too. He plays everything with 3 fingers

Whisker Whippers ™️ yeah, it’s hard to hear in the original recording because Les is a running through an old Big Muff or something and it’s VERY distorted. But you can really hear it on the harmonics in the breakdown, and it’s fast AF and super cleanly played
