Wide leg pants usually puddle on the floor in the ladies room so I stick with straight or skinny legs. All of your suggestions are fantastic. You’re a delight to listen to.
Just back from a 3 month trip (Jan-March): 8 days in London, 49 day cruise to Australia, and one month split between Australia and NZ. Took only a carry on bag for the whole thing. plus a shoulder bag for my laptop, travel guides and hardcopy confirmations etc. I always travel light, but this time required some extreme ninja packing to cover winter in London, many formal nights on the cruise, hiking in the Outback, plus general sightseeing in all the tropical islands along the cruise and in Oz and NZ. My system always involves starting with 10 tops and 5 bottoms and everything must go with everything. That gives me 50 combinations. This time I added 2 extra tops and 1 extra bottom because it was a somewhat longer trip than normal. Virtually everything is plain which means things are less memorable and can be reworn sooner. I take 5ish scarves to dress up the simpler tops. I also assume I will have to do all my laundry in the sink of my hotel or cruise cabin, so no jeans ever make the cut. They just take too long to dry. I've invested in several merino wool tshirts and long sleeve tops (all plain) and everything goes with all the bottoms. The black maxi skirt is useful for all the formal dinners on the ship, but with a tank top and flip flops goes to the beach the next day. I also wear the bulky sneakers on the plane, and several layers so I can peel off a few to get comfortable no mater the temperature. I love some of the combinations you put together, and they'd be nice outfits for my life when I'm home but for my style of minimal travel, blazers and jeans just aren't going to be practical from a laundry perspective. Love your channel because it forces me to consider new brands and combinations of clothing I mightn't have tried without your push.
Packing for a trip like that should be considered a super-power! WOW, Jennifer! Thanks for sharing all of the tips and tricks that worked for you for your travels. I hope you had an amazing time on that epic trip! xo
Hi gorgeous! I have found that when traveling I prefer to wear a maxi dress. When I use public restrooms, I hike it up instead of down where it can touch the floor, especially in front of the toilet! But I like the idea of a nicer sweatsuit. It gets so cold on those long plane rides.
I totally love the packing part of planning a trip too. It’s so fun to anticipate what we’re going to do and plan nice outfits accordingly. Allowing for flexibility and a reasonable number of options while not overpacking is the challenge. Wearing pretty clothes is an integral part of enjoying any trip experience for me! Makes me happy!
I’ve travelled quite a bit over the years. I start laying out outfits weeks in advance continually tweaking until I have pared it down to items that interchange with pretty much anything else. Always, it seems, there is one piece that I throw in at the last, thinking “I might need this”. Usually it is something that I can layer for comfort or warmth. For example, on a trip to San Francisco, just before I zipped my suitcase, I threw in a little fleece zip up. If you know SF you know that some days in summer can be freezing. That zip up was the piece that I almost never took off to the point of sleeping in it. My point is that with all the thought that you put into it, sometimes you just have to trust your instinct about what you might need. AND, I agree, it all looks better if it looks intentional; outfit, coat, shoes, travel bags.
I am from Europe but lived in USA for 10 years. I am smiling a little bit at your matching “sweatshirt-sets”. You say they look sophisticated but at a European airport, most people would be able to point out an American a long way! 😄 NOT that it is anything wrong with that (!) but I think a lot of Americans think they blend in, but it is just not how a European usually dress - sorry 🙈
I fly international for business on a monthly basis and lived in Europe for many years. I don’t agree that Europeans in European airports have a superior sense of style. In general, people worldwide have relaxed their clothing style and I see just as many sloppy Europeans as I do Americans.
It’s diff to blend in regardless of what you’re wearing. I don’t expect foreign visitors to the US to blend in, especially considering there are many cultures within the US and varying climates.
As a European living in North America and traveling constantly it seems to me that people in capital cities all over the world tend to dress more formally than their counterparts living in smaller towns. Not always but usually. Also, quick tip, I like to wear white so I use a scarf when I'm in a situation where I could get a spill, like a squishy airplane seat, or restaurant. Scarves are easier to clean up and you don't have to remove an article of clothing.
An essential travel item I've found to be a multitasker is a knit cashmere wrap. I use it as a blanket when on international flights or as a light weight wrap around my shoulders and chest if I get chilly on shorter flights (I tend to catch cold from those pesky air vents directed at you from above). I use it at my destination if I need a wrap when dining in air-conditioned restaurants and if evenings get chilly, or as a scarf if travelling in cooler months. I have different colours for different seasons so I know they will coordinate with my outfits. In winter I usually travel with a grey or taupe coloured wrap, and in summer I'll bring along a bright blue, apple green or light cream wrap, depending on my wardrobe colours for that trip. These wraps fold up nicely in your carry-on or hand bag without taking too much space, and they also make a decent pillow bundle in a pinch if you need one. A brand I'm particularly pleased with for its quality, size and customer service is The Travel Wrap. In fact, to whomever I have gifted these wraps, I am told they have quickly become a well-loved and well-used travel essential as well.
Love it! I've also found lately that I really like what I've packed so much more if I start packing like a week before - even just laying out outfits so I'm not trying to think of everything right before we leave.
Going to Canada for very short trip. Erin you are right about sports gear is only an American style. I told my son, you wear it when you are either going to do sports or gym. 💕
Shalom❣️Usually I like to wear my comfy rayon, nylon, spandex black pants from Talbots, a comfy tan or black t shirt, an open button down black shirt, black flats, and a black jacket if it’s going to be cold. I’ll put socks and a cashmere sweater in my carry on. Then the rest of my clothes in my suitcase will coordinate with my travel clothes. Pack light everyone‼️‼️‼️😀👍🏼✈️✈️✈️
Erin, you are doing a terrific amazing wonderful awesome incredible job. Could you please do a “High Style Wardrobe Checklist” for us ladies who want to have a blast!🎉
You are so pleasant! My favourite part of this is your commentary on your luggage matching your outfits… and making fun of yourself. You are not telling people what to do, you simply sharing your experiences and giving some thoughtful advice. What people choose to do with that is for them to decide.
I have been doing the outfit albums for traveling for a while now and it’s definitely so worth doing… It helps me save so much time and energy during my travel and I feel it gives me more time to enjoy my vacation as well…
I never wear heels on an airplane…if you have to emergency evacuate the plane it would be a problem in heels. I ordered Spanx perfect pant kick flare cropped in a tall…I’m 5’3”. I know it sounds crazy but I loved the shape and they ended up being the perfect length. They have become my travel pants. I photograph all of my outfits, it helps me not overpack and get dressed quickly when I may have been imbibing a bit too much. 😂❤
Taking pictures of your outfits is SO helpful! Really big time saver everyday, and especially when packing for trips. Thanks so much for watching, Cherie! xo
I admit too that I enjoy the challenge of figuring out a capsule travel wardrobe. Wouldn't do the sweats or active wear because I don't wear that at the destination; esp. if travelling for work or other special occasions. A tip I've learned: bring a few CLEAR plastic garbage bags in my personal item bag so I can put my nice trench/wool coat, scarf, etc in that to go through security, and not have to put dry-clean on only items in filthy bins. Also works for stashing my winter coat under the seat along with my personal item, if I keep the personal item to the size of a tote purse rather than a duffel.
I also travel a lot. My upcoming travel plans include Dominican Republic, Singapore, Bali and Japan all in colder months which is when we usually travel. I normally wear cashmere pants and a matching cashmere sweater. It makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a soft cocoon it's so comfortable but also looks nice.
Thank you and yes! Love my wide leg pants but they don’t work when using the toilet anywhere! I have to roll them way up and hold them so they don’t touch the floor. Thinking about bringing jaw clips or something to hold them up. Otherwise I will unfortunately be wearing leggings on the plane.😢
Fabulous video Erin. I travel to Maine every 3 months to see my kids. I live in California so it's a trek across the country. I never wear jeans it's always black joggers white t shirt and a black blazer or a long camel sweater coat with a scarf. Cashmere wrap in my bag too in black. I love looking chic when I travel. I learned this from my mom. 💓
I am probably crazier than all of you. I do an excel spreadsheet for my travel clothes and accessories, by day, evening, weather, events, etc.! In fact my daughter just checked to see if I’ve got my excel ready for our upcoming trip to Alaska. I told her, “Sweetheart, I’ve been working on it for months!” Lol
If you're crazy (for planning your travel outfits) then I'm a raving lunatic! For about a decade, I've been making a detailed list of outfits (complete w/accessories such as shoes and a bag for each) so that I don't pack too much and, most importantly, I don't waste time deciding what to wear and getting ready when I'm at my destination.
Then I am crazy also. I am laying everything out to the last detail. Just carry on and a backpack. I will be in summer weather, then fall, and back to Summer weather. Going to Italy, Greece, Turkey, then SE Asia for a year.
I do exactly what you do with the preparing outfits for travel w/ photos. Etc. I agree - it’s like my vacay is a month long even if it is a weekend b/c I prepare my outfits down to jewelry beforehand so I know exactly what I have with me to choose from and I never have to worry about what I’m going to wear. In a large group when plans are shifting- for the evening plans while we are at lunch/ I already have my phone out looking at my outfits. I created an album w/ the trip name. Duplicate the album and then delete from it was I wear them and keep the master album for future inspo and then what’s left and I don’t wear- helps me see what I may really not like. This has definitely changed my life. And I learn what accessories are my favs. I do this with swimsuits and sunnies. Etc.
Such helpful information! I agree with your ideas about spending time choosing the right travel “outfits.” It’s so important to have packed all the items that you need upon arrival at your destination. Shopping for something that you forgot can be inconvenient, expensive and maybe not even an option. Thank you!
Erin has a way of presenting her advice as if she is coaching you as a good friend or sister. She's so helpful in a kind way . . . taking care not to step on any toes.
Make fun of You? I adore you and sooooo thrilled to find my peeps and keep learning. Fashion has been in my bones since I was 2!! I'm almost 66. When I was 2 I would change my clothes multiple times a day and model around the house. Seriously ...it's in my DNA.
I love the look of the wide leg pants, however I find it is more inconvenient when using a rest room, especially on an airplane. I don't like them hitting the floor and feel I am always trying to hold them up. Just my experience
I'm short so have to take up the hems on pants/trousers anyway so I make a wide hem and leave a small gap. then when I'm travelling I add some elastic so they are tight to my ankle, no puddling on the floor in public loos and worn with a longer top easily pass as ethnic wear [mind you, I love wearing salwar kameezzes anyway ever since a friend introduced me to them] while also being stylish, comfortable and practical.
SO fun that I happened on this particular vid, today... while packing for a trip to NYC, early tomorrow a.m.!! I've done a lot of traveling, too, and I'm wearing one of my fave, go-to plane outfits--a pair of black straight-leg knit(!!) jean pants by Athleta (sadly, discontinued), with a 3/4-sleeve black boatneck tee by Three Dots (with a really cool, dark, almost-acid-wash treatment), an all-black leather moto (black hardware, too), and a waterproof black leather bootie from Sorel (sooo comfy, plus absolutely silent!), and a pair of black Kate Spade cat eye sunglasses and black leather crossbody bag. It's comfy as all get-out, chic, well-fitted, and wearable in multiple iterations with other pieces in my checked luggage. :)
Erin, I like how you mentioned wearing what makes you feel good. Based on planes falling apart mid air I’m wearing a parachute & a floatation vest…just saying 😂😜✈️
All pretty outfits Erin! I’m going to definitely get that sweat suit from spanx but for my regular life. I always wear joggers and a longer mid thigh knit zip up warm hoodie that I got years ago from Athleta on a plane. No wide leg pants as I don’t want anything dragging on the ground in the restroom. Yuck! I wore another warm shorter jacket with no hood on a longer Hawaii trip once and regretted not having the extra length and hood as I love to cuddle up, put the hood over my head and go to sleep on the plane. We take frequent trips to Hawaii and it’s always so cold in the plane. And definitely comfy sneakers. I can’t wait to watch your Africa video. We just got back from a three week long trip and safari in Africa as well. Can’t wait to see what you guys did.
Thanks so much for watching! You'll love this set! They have a cropped wide leg and a tapered leg version as well, so no worrying about anything dragging on the floor. Plus use code ERINXSPANX for 10% off! Cropped | go.magik.ly/ml/1w0uz/ Tapered Leg | go.magik.ly/ml/1w0v3/
Great video! This past year I added a cashmere wrap from Quince to my travel wardrobe. I absolutely love it! It can be styled many ways, it's soft and warm, and I love having it to cozy up with in a hotel room.
Love this video so much!! I struggle with putting together comfortable flying outfits. And as someone with a really casual lifestyle and living mostly without a car, layers are so important for me for day to day. This gave me a lot of ideas for outfits even for everyday!
I actually plan my outfits at home, and I use my cell calendar to save my outfits each day. Therefore, during my trip I don't have to stress about it, I mean, of course I am always open to make changes but for the most time I stick to it.
Love, love, love your tips ❤ You inspired me years ago to widen my warderobe to white and creme. I've never regreted. For my trips I always imagine what will I do there (highking, sightseeing, elegant dinner...) and depending on the activities I pack the clothes. So I try to avoid to pack too much clothes
I didn’t think that I could love you anymore than I already do….until you said that you match your carryon luggage to your outfit. YES! 🥰. That said, my hubby and I are heading to Greece in November and would love outfit and packing tips!
Thank you. I so relate!! Planning my capsule and imagining wearing those outfits in my destination are a great part of the enjoyment of the travel experience for me!! It’s refreshing to hear you speak to this. Always great content here.
Spanx Air Essentials ROCK!!! I love this line. I have the half zip top with jumpsuits, wide leg pant & leggings in all colors available. An absolute travel essential in every way… Chic, buttery soft comfort! Countless compliments as well as asks, “Where did you get that?” All shocked when I share, “Its Spanx.” Great video & great partnership. Love You 😘
Hi Erin, I got so much out of this and truly look forward to your videos; you are in a class of your own and so much work goes into these. I'm a jeans and blazer girl. I really loved every look and could see myself wearing them. Happy, Happy Travels! xo
Love this video the examples you have given me so many ideas how to dress on a 4 hour drive up the motorway how to be comfortable while driving and put together when we stop off on the motorway - thank you
I purchased some travel pieces, activewear from Old Navy. They have petites as well. They have the sweatsuit peaces and active wear in the regular, tall, and petitie sizes. Matching pieces as well. Thank you for your travel tips. Happy travels 2024.
Thank you so much Erin! I feel like you were talking to me! I’m actually starting to pack tomorrow for our trip to Africa in a week. Definitely dealing with the packing limit of 33 lbs and have gotten so much valuable info from your trip to Africa and fabulous video! Just ordered my spanx air essential set last night 👍🏻 Truly appreciate your time and effort in your helpful and inspirational videos!😘
Thank you for saving my wet Iberian Penninsula two month trip! Waterproof leather lug boots saved the day/month! Dry, comfortable, secure footing on cobblestones, stairs, paths. Best travel tip!
Thank u. LOVE travel tips, packing etc. Thanks 4 including luggage too. I personally like to dress "up" not heels lol but good while traveling in the airport.
I so get the matching comment! I even like my pouches inside my personal item to match. Getting ready to head to Europe. Going to use many of your suggestions ❤️
Thank you for the fun ideas. I layer in Merino wool pieces and am never again traveling without a light polar fleece layer - warmth is worth sacrificing fashion for on occasion. 😂 Wide leg pants would drag on the floor of the nasty airline bathrooms so I prefer straight leg pants or joggers. As an end note, you’re very lucky to have a husband who will travel.
This is such a great blog. Thank you. I am what you might call a “survivalist dresser”. I get by. I’m heading over to Europe (Greece then Italy then Walking Worlds tour in Croatia) for the first time . I think I’m more of a visual learner so just wanted to tell you how good I have found your videos. I won’t be the most chic traveller in 3 1/2 weeks before leaving but at least I will be on my way. Thanks!
Erin- I don’t what you do, but you get more beautiful as you age. Your hair looks so lovely/healthy too. Love your travel suggestions. You’re right about Denver Airport. 😉
My packing is simple. Years ago I was introduced to the salwar kameez by a friend from Pakistan and I love wearing them. I ensure that my kameez are usually patterned in a couple of colours and that each top has 2 or 3 salwar/pants/trousers that will go with them. Then I just pack 4 or 5 outfits and it's so easy to ensure that each top has 3 or 4 different bottoms and vice versa. Lots of different outfits, they are comfortable, suitable to wear anywhere from walking around museums and shops to visiting churches or castles. Lightweight but can be adapted with lightweight wool tops/leggings underneath if necessary while a couple of wraps add extra warmth but also extra style and can double as hair coverings in the situation demands [churches mainly, some are conservative]. And being lightweight cotton [I have one silk outfit for evenings out] they are quickly and easily washed, dry fast and pack taking up very little .room as well. Two packing cubes and I've a dozen outfits with plenty of room left for souvenirs.
Going to Iceland in the spring & would love some ideas for mix & match/crossover pieces that can go from hiking to casual dinner etc. Love your content!
Perfect timing! My husband and I are going to visit Venice, Verona, and three cities in Slovenia including the iconic Lake Bled. Thank you for all the helpful tips. Like you I will only wear shoes I can run in. I’ve had too many impromptu “workouts” while trying to make it to my next flight on time 😂
Great suggestions for travel day wear. I'm the opposite, as I'm always hot on a plane, so layers are important. I've also found, the nicer I dress the better service I get. FYI-note to your crew, the sweatshirt you're wearing, before you launder it, the front needs to be spot treated. Studio lights are brutal on exposing any flaws and the outfit is expensive. Thank you for another great video with awesome options.
So glad you enjoyed this video! Definitely important to adjust to your own preferences and make adjustments if you run hotter/cooler. Don't worry, I caught the stain on this sweatshirt! Thanks for watching. xo
My husband and I are going to Bora Bora in October. I recently purchased the Spanx air essentials set for the travel days, perfect comfy set. I’m already planning outfits!
Hi Erin! Thank you for this video. Your timing couldn’t be better for me. We are headed to Positano, Tuscany, Florence and Spain in 6 day…eeek! You’ve given me so many great travel outfit ideas and I’m sure will be incorporating some of your formulas when i travel next week. Love your videos…thanks again! ❤
I love the idea of the photo album of outfits. I sometimes forget what my thought process was while packing. I love jeans, t-shirt, scarf, & and a jacket when traveling. My next big trip is to thialand, Bali, Cambodia, & Vietnam next spring. Would appreciate any packing suggestions for that region. Your tips were helpful for my trip to South Africa last month. I actually bought a pair of banana Republic cargo pants from Ross and loved it. Thank you & bless you for your generous service.
Today came across your site, and am I thrilled 👍😁 We have a very similar taste in style... can't beat "classic". I do own number of good pieces of clothing, but it's always refreshing to learn something new. Have seen several blogs, yours however, is by far THE BEST... 🥰
Hi, Erin! Great video. I am finding that I like wearing a cropped boxy tee with girlfriend jeans when traveling by car. They don’t bind or cut into your waist or hips, and the tee doesn’t cling and I feel cooler in the car. Then my over layer will be a lightweight sweater or jacket (ie., shorter trench or even a shacket, depending on the weather.
Where in Sweden? Big differenses in temperature depending on the very north, middle, or very south! It can be -20*C and sunny/ blizzard in the north and + 5*C and sunny/ rainy/blizzard in the south the same day! Tip: check the weather forcast before AND bring layers! Warm welcome to Sweden!🇸🇪
I absolutely LOVE your travel videos! All of them. Packing, what to wear, when you’re there, your review and thoughts after. You are my absolute favorite person to watch. Thank you for all you do. I’ve learned to trust and respect you greatly! I also realized how much I buy from your opinions. In this video alone, I have the rag and bone jean sweat pants from last winter that your mentioned and I bought that Veronica beard jacket from your Africa video. We have 3 trips planned. Virgin voyages southern Caribbean cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary, Washington DC, and our first Europe trip with my kids next June to Italy and France. Thank you again, you inspire me in many ways.
Thanks so much for watching! SO glad you enjoyed this one and hope you are loving your new jacket too!! Very exciting trips coming up for you... Have an amazing time! xo
I absolutely love this video and your ideas. They’re very classy yet comfortable. I’m headed to Portugal in two months and I’m a little nervous about what I’m wearing, but after watching your video, I’m more confident in planning my outfits. Thank you.
I’m going to Dubai in April, Istanbul end of May and Bergamo for July and August. Haven’t even thought about what I’m taking! I’m glad I came across your video, really helpful advice, thank you x
I really like your lighter makeup. It makes you look younger, more rested, and healthier than the heavier makeup you wore around the time you lived in Europe.
Thank you for this video. I am going to Jamaica in December from Canada and always have a difficult time wondering what to wear leaving for the airport in freezing weather and landing in hot humid weather.
I LOVE your style and your videos! I travel a lot for work, doing over 20+ conferences a year and always have trouble "capsule" packing. I am torn between having to wear elevated work attire and wanting to workout/dress casually during my "off" time. I also like to pack color and prints to change things up. I typically will pick a base color (black, grey, white, purple, pink, navy, etc.) and then will build outfits around one solid color, adding in a print or two or pieces that can connect the look. I found that White House Black Market carries lots of great blazers and lightweight jackets (need these for my many trips to FL) that I can wear on the plane or in airconditioned hotels/conference rooms (which are usually freezing). I would love to see how you integrate dresses and skirts into your travel wardrobe. It's hard to find those pieces that 1). have pockets 2). pack nicely, 3). don't wrinkle! Dresses also mean you are only packing 1 piece v. 2-3 (skirt/pants, top and a blazer or jacket! Any advice you have to pack "light" but smart for conferences would be appreciated!
Erin, just like you, I have so many outfit albums on my phone! I have an album of new in pieces, spring/summer dressy and casual, fall/winter dressy and casual, one for each holiday of the year, weddings, funerals, etc. Then when an event comes up I scroll through to see what I want to wear. This is such a game changer! Thanks for another great video!
PS I match my luggage too and have inside toiletries/make-up bags to match each. I have a white and beige set, a pink set, and a navy set. The fashion part of travel is integral to my enjoyment of the trip too. When we travel by car, I am known to take several pairs of shoes for each day, with matching purses of course, a different bathing suit with matching cover-up for each day and naturally I dress up for dinner! I am sure most if your viewers are the same.
I fly to Montana each winter and wear a cashmere turtle neck dress and scarf (warm but breathable), tall Uggs (warm but easy to take on and off) and a full length down packable coat which I pack into its bag for the plane and minimal jewelry for the metal detectors.
I appreciate all the content and work put into these. Wow! You hit it out of the park!!! Thank you, you are a living doll! we are headed to Aspen in Sept., trying tp catch the yellow leaves at their peak. ❤😍❤
Great video! Heading to Jackson Hole, WY soon. Have my Spanx Air Essentials outfit + my all black outfit with my beloved Frame leather pants. Great styles and great tips! Have a great trip to Europe!
Very helpful video. I'm using it as a guide for putting together comfortable and functional outfits as a SAHM.. also. Your hair looks extra pretty in this vid.
Omg, we are similar in so many ways 😂, I love pink color since childhood, love to travel with chic clothing and stylish. I usually pack all nice clothes. I have a trip coming up to Italy. Hopefully I can pack only 2 carryons.
I am going to New Orleans in the mid September month. I haven’t flown since 2000. My last trip was to the Middle East. I have NEVER flown with just a carry on and am excited to see what I can put together, that’s stylish and comfortable in the still lingering heat and humidity of New Orleans. ❤
Have an amazing time on your trip!! Here's a few more tips specific to packing your carry-on that I think will be helpful for you... busbeestyle.com/packing-tips-2019/

All of the options you share are sensible AND stylish. Thanks again for travel style tips Do you use packing cubes? What does your hubby pack? Would like to know how your man packs for travel to look as stylish as you! Of course - the packing planning sets us up for adventure and prolongs the excitement of a trip. I get it!! ❤ your channel. 🤗

Thanks for this video content! I am looking forward to new travel outfit ideas for upcoming travel via car and plane at the end of the year and Spring Break next year. 😊❤️
Could you please do a packing video and specifically what you pack in your carry on for international flights? We are traveling to Germany in 4 weeks for our 20th wedding anniversary. I’ve never been to Europe so my anxiety is definitely ticking up, but I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and they are so helpful in planning my shopping and outfits. Thank you!!
I have some great packing tips for you in this blog! busbeestyle.com/packing-tips-2019/ I'm so glad my other videos are helpful as you prepare for your trip! Hope you have the BEST time celebrating your anniversary! xo
Just watched your “travel outfits” video ( 10/22/23) and really enjoyed your suggestions. I know the capsule wardrobe is key for traveling but I suffer from a need to wear a different outfit daily 🤦🏻♀️. I have a cruise next May along the Amalfi Coast , then4 days in San Sebastián, Spain. I’m 70 but a youthful version. 😁

Wide leg pants usually puddle on the floor in the ladies room so I stick with straight or skinny legs. All of your suggestions are fantastic. You’re a delight to listen to.
Quite true. As a nurse I always think of that and blouses with wide cuffs doing in every thing 😂
I was gonna say same thinb in addition to NEVER take your shoes off on the plane in case of emergency..
But, you pull the length of the pants up, as you pull the pants down. The legs don’t pool to the floor. Yuck.
Absolutely agree! I stick to my cargo pants💪
@@keeplifemoving If flying over 10 hours slippers are a good idea. Im going to be on a 16.5 hr flight soon, I couldnt bear shoes that long.
Couldn't agree more, Lynn! Thanks so much for watching! xo
…..and then you said the exact same thing…😄
I fly international for business on a monthly basis and lived in Europe for many years. I don’t agree that Europeans in European airports have a superior sense of style. In general, people worldwide have relaxed their clothing style and I see just as many sloppy Europeans as I do Americans.
Totally agree!
From a physician’s point of view, sneakers that tie snuggly are better for your feet in the long run. They support the mid foot better.
Thank you for recommending a great brand of those wraps!🌺
Yes. Thank you
I love pink too happy color!!!
Thanks so much for watching, Cherie! xo
I will be going on a trip soon so this video was very helpful. Thank you for all the great tips and ideas. 👍🏼
lol I love this!
Sweatsuits will never =elegant. Comfy yes, elegant no.
Genius!!!
Perfect go-to travel outfit!! Thanks for sharing, Julie! Your trips will be amazing! xo
Avoid wide legged pants when traveling on a plane, for safety reasons, and because they will inevitably touch the filthy airplane toilet floors
UGH, the dreaded airplane toilets yuck!!
I would just roll them up! Better than wearing tight pants 😊
I agree
Yoga pants are a no for travel either
Fabulous video Erin. I travel to Maine every 3 months to see my kids. I live in California so it's a trek across the country. I never wear jeans it's always black joggers white t shirt and a black blazer or a long camel sweater coat with a scarf. Cashmere wrap in my bag too in black. I love looking chic when I travel. I learned this from my mom. 💓
Perfect travel uniform! Thanks for sharing, Kellie. You've got this nailed down with that long trim every 3 months! xo
I love the outfits! And I love that you like to match your travel bags to your travel wardrobe!
I feel more comfortable in jeans a blouse and a trench coat. I really enjoy you helping learn how to style and put clothes together.❤
LOVE that organization! No time to waste when traveling. xo
Same here😂
Same!
Thank you!
Short day trips with the Senior Center. Lunch or Museum trip .And shopping tips. Love to look and feel great. Thank you, beautiful lady 😘
Thanks so much for watching, Barbara!! xo
My fave is long neutral linen blazer, jeans, T-shirt& Vessi sneakers.
Erin has a way of presenting her advice as if she is coaching you as a good friend or sister. She's so helpful in a kind way . . . taking care not to step on any toes.
Thanks so much for your sweet words! xo
Same, also ponchos and long scarves.
Perfect timing and it sounds like you've nailed down the perfect travel outfit for you! Thanks for watching...have a great trip!! xo
I have a lot of “basics” in my closet, but before watching your videos, had no clue how to put them together and get a good look. Thank you so much!!!
Erin, I like how you mentioned wearing what makes you feel good. Based on planes falling apart mid air I’m wearing a parachute & a floatation vest…just saying 😂😜✈️
Oh boy! Connie you are a smart woman! 😂 SO glad no one was hurt in that one....

Great video! This past year I added a cashmere wrap from Quince to my travel wardrobe. I absolutely love it! It can be styled many ways, it's soft and warm, and I love having it to cozy up with in a hotel room.
Great piece to travel with! Thanks for sharing, Jane. xo
Love this video so much!! I struggle with putting together comfortable flying outfits. And as someone with a really casual lifestyle and living mostly without a car, layers are so important for me for day to day. This gave me a lot of ideas for outfits even for everyday!
So glad this was helpful for you!! Thanks so much for watching. xo
I actually plan my outfits at home, and I use my cell calendar to save my outfits each day. Therefore, during my trip I don't have to stress about it, I mean, of course I am always open to make changes but for the most time I stick to it.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing how you stay organized! xo
This is one of my favorite videos you have done, so useful for everyday. I am going in my closet now to put together some of these pieces!
I'm so glad this was helpful for you, Jennifer! Thanks for watching. xo
Love, love, love your tips ❤
You inspired me years ago to widen my warderobe to white and creme. I've never regreted.
For my trips I always imagine what will I do there (highking, sightseeing, elegant dinner...) and depending on the activities I pack the clothes. So I try to avoid to pack too much clothes
Love that! I'm honored to hear that my tips have been so helpful for you!! xo
I didn’t think that I could love you anymore than I already do….until you said that you match your carryon luggage to your outfit. YES! 🥰. That said, my hubby and I are heading to Greece in November and would love outfit and packing tips!
Love that! Have an amazing time on your trip this fall!! xo
Thank you. I so relate!! Planning my capsule and imagining wearing those outfits in my destination are a great part of the enjoyment of the travel experience for me!! It’s refreshing to hear you speak to this. Always great content here.
Totally agree, Tammy! Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed this one! xo
Love You 😘
LOVE this line - SO glad to hear you do too! It's a Team Busbee favorite already too. Thanks so much for watching, Paige! xo
Great advice for outfits and packing. Heading to Italy in April.😎
Have the BEST time on your trip, Tracy! xo
Hi Erin, I got so much out of this and truly look forward to your videos; you are in a class of your own and so much work goes into these. I'm a jeans and blazer girl. I really loved every look and could see myself wearing them. Happy, Happy Travels! xo
Thanks so much for watching, Christine! SO glad these outfits spoke to you!
SO glad that my videos have been helpful for you as you start to pack... Hope you have the most amazing time on your trip, Mary! xo
Thank you for saving my wet Iberian Penninsula two month trip! Waterproof leather lug boots saved the day/month! Dry, comfortable, secure footing on cobblestones, stairs, paths. Best travel tip!
That's great to hear! I hope you had a great trip!! xo
Yes! It helps you feel all pulled together to have it matching. Have a great time on your upcoming trip, Sally!! xo
1/17/2024. E-bags has packing cubes and makeup and toiletries bags for up to 80% off I’ve had some for maybe 15 years and they still look new.
Lots of great joggers and straight leg pant options to swap the wide leg style out with. Thanks so much for watching! xo
Thanks!
My favorites are jeans and the longer blazer or trench. I also like to all-cream outfit. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for watching. xo
Very timely video! Thanks for including ‘similar for less’ options!!
So glad this was helpful for you!! Enjoy wherever you may be traveling to! xo
My husband and I are going to Bora Bora in October. I recently purchased the Spanx air essentials set for the travel days, perfect comfy set. I’m already planning outfits!
So exciting!! Have the best time on your trip this fall, Michelle! xo
Great video! Love how you chuckle at yourself 🥰. I’m an outfit planner too and enjoy my holiday much more if I love my outfits!
I love this video! Definitely the Sandro trench with a matching turtleneck and comfy bottoms.
Thank you SO much! xo
Thank you!! I really appreciate sticking to a color story when traveling!!!
It does make such a difference! Thanks for watching!! xo
Perfect timing! Have such a great time on your upcoming trip, Kelly! xo
Today came across your site, and am I thrilled 👍😁
We have a very similar taste in style... can't beat "classic".
I do own number of good pieces of clothing, but it's always refreshing to learn something new.
Have seen several blogs, yours however, is by far THE BEST... 🥰
Thank you...I really love your brown color ones. I'll keep a lookout for that color brown
Great tip! So important to be comfortable on those long car rides... Thanks for watching! xo
Traveling to Sweden in Feb. would love an updated winter video to stay warm but not overpack. ❤
I think you are awesome! I have finally found someone who likes to match everything in her wardrobe like I do! Thanks for all of your tips and ideas!
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed and found this helpful! xo
Paris and Italy next summer! Second time around. Hope weather will be great.
Have a great time on your trip!! xo
Washington DC! Headed there in September on a family ladies trip for my grandmothers 80th birthday! Thank you for all the tips!
What a sweet trip that will be, Kristina! Have the BEST time! xo
I love all these outfits...we are spending the New Year's Eve in Lake Como and then to Milan for 3 Kings' Day...❤❤❤
You look beautiful! Great tips! I love seeing all of your family travel photos too. As always, thanks for sharing. ☺️
I really like your lighter makeup. It makes you look younger, more rested, and healthier than the heavier makeup you wore around the time you lived in Europe.
I'm glad you like the lighter makeup. Thanks for watching, Kathy! xo
Thank you for this video. I am going to Jamaica in December from Canada and always have a difficult time wondering what to wear leaving for the airport in freezing weather and landing in hot humid weather.
Great outfits. Thank you and keep enjoying all the travels.
Thanks so much! It truly is a privilege to travel. SO grateful for this and for being able to share it with our kids. Thanks for watching! xo
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video, Aileen! It does make such a difference for planning outfits and staying organized. Thanks for watching! xo
I appreciate all the content and work put into these. Wow! You hit it out of the park!!! Thank you, you are a living doll! we are headed to Aspen in Sept., trying tp catch the yellow leaves at their peak. ❤😍❤
You are SO welcome, Pamela! I'm glad these tips were helpful, and I hope you have the BEST time in Aspen next month! xo
You do such an excellent job Erin. Thank you for what you do.
You are so welcome! xo
Omg, we are similar in so many ways 😂, I love pink color since childhood, love to travel with chic clothing and stylish. I usually pack all nice clothes. I have a trip coming up to Italy. Hopefully I can pack only 2 carryons.
Thanks so much for watching! Have an amazing time in Italy!! xo
Hi Erin! My husband and I are going to Antiqua this winter for our 25th anniversary and I would love if you could do a travel video to tropical destinations. Also, my husband is from France (we go quite a bit) so I always enjoy your nods to Europe! Thank you for your great style!!

As always Erin, you hit it out of the park! That Veronica Beard utility jacket - WOW!! Have on ‘notify me’ when a bigger size comes available. It is perfection.
Thanks so much for your sweet comment! SO glad you enjoyed this one. Yes, packing cubes are a must! Here's all of my travel must haves: busbeestyle.com/travel-must-haves/
I learned a long time ago, that I can't control what Chris wears...But I can always wear the things I love and feel amazing in! We don't always "match" but that's okay - the trip is always worth it. xo
@@BusbeeStyle haha that’s fair 😊 i am sure he looks great too. Lol. Thanks for all that you do.
So thankful I found you and the information is so helpful. We are going to Amsterdam, Prague and Vienna in late April and May. Need some Spring outfit travel inspiration.

Wonderful and useful sharing ❤, I am going to Paris next week, thanks a lot and wish you have a beautiful day 😘
Have an AMAZING time on your upcoming trip, Maggie! xo
Your hair looks great in this video
Could you please do a packing video and specifically what you pack in your carry on for international flights? We are traveling to Germany in 4 weeks for our 20th wedding anniversary. I’ve never been to Europe so my anxiety is definitely ticking up, but I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and they are so helpful in planning my shopping and outfits. Thank you!!
I have some great packing tips for you in this blog! busbeestyle.com/packing-tips-2019/
I'm so glad my other videos are helpful as you prepare for your trip!
