Whether he is solo, with the strokes, with the voidz, or with daft punk, all of his songs are so amazingly beautiful. This man is a musical genius.
You forgot Lonely Island.
this is a fact
+Mr. Loowiz I saw a Spanish guy doing the Bartman...
agree
Agree 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Honestly, Julian Casablancas is one of the best things that happened to the world of Music.
he's very underrated and not talked about as much as mediocre artists. this man is a musical genius and a perfect human being
Natalia Vargas Absolutely. "Thank you", music industry and ignorant audience.
Moonchild for real. He’ll be the next Edgar Allan Poe
You are so so so right
@@gulsumasmrtr6384 Thanks :) I feel that way, but it's also an objective opinion.
Also, there's a song for this, called You're So Right by The Strokes 😃🎶
"He's a rockstar in a world full of popstars"... love juli
This song is like a classical symphony, sped up and transmuted into a modern day format, receptive to the ears of the youth. The complexity, the build ups, the crescendos, the heart breaking chord changes.. Absolutely genius. There is noone else today that rivals this man's genius. He must be a reincarnation of Mozart or one of the greats. Love and respect Julian. I hope you can see all of these messages. ❤️
I swear he is the best lyricist. All of his lyrics resonate with me so much.
He's a rockstar in a world full of popstars and wannabe rockers. Because of musicians like him, I can feel confident when I say that there is still honest and real music being produced these days. Too often it's hidden behind the corporate money schemes many "artists" are today. Is anybody else sick to death of bands that sound like whiney 14 year olds and awful rappers "singing" about how much money they have or how tough they are?
Spot on man
Jordan W People have and always will create music because they love doing it, it's just finding it.
That's so true. I discover new music I enjoy, and occasionally love, all the time. Whether written in recent years or ages ago. Music is a wonderful thing, the greatest form of expression, to me.
Jordan W - I wish I could "like" this comment twice!
Rock on Brother
Alone, with The Strokes, with Daft Punk, that man fucking rocks!!!
and the voidz xD
Master of melodies
"I'm at your feet where critters meet" Damn that just hits the spot for some reason.
Since I was old enough to discover music, I've been (for lack of a better word) infatuated with Julian and his work.
No matter what band he sings for or if he is simply solo, I have never not enjoyed or appreciated his work.
The imagery is impeccable! He has so much to say, So much knowledge to offer.
The man is a genuine genius.
Never change julian. Never.
Mariah Marie imho the best part of the song
I can’t believe he says “critters meet”?! For the last 13 years I thought it was “craters meet”. I always pictured some epic end of the world apocalypse going on and Julian (Self Insert) risking it all to get to her to ask for one last chance haha. Like actual craters erupting from the ground, but nothing comes between me and my lady haha and per usual gets burned in the end… “is that what you asked for, cause that’s what we got…”
Probably should’ve looked up the lyrics. Fuck it, I like my interpretation ha… craters it is.
No other artist could pull this song off besides julian.
Pure authentic talent.
oh yah brilliance at 3.54 what an end to the song.
this is why to love Mr Casablancas - those sheer moments of musical harmony, hitting the peaks.
thanks Julian...
We might be in for a late night
Stuck in a lava flow of brake lights
I can hear a rattling bass drum driving back to where it came from
Sit back
I shop therefore I am the cause, protect me from what I was
Getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it
Getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it
Timing is everything, timing is everything, timing is everything, timing is everything
Timing is everything, timing is everything...
I'm at your feet, where critters meet
Who should be asleep and not crossing roads or highways
In the afterlife of super cities, rapidly devouring its outskirts
It's neon octopus arms redecorating late at night
Robot camp for kids who hate sports
Mothers crying at the airport
Finding the dreams you left behind to do, waving goodbye your young heart cries for you
Sit back
You're finding it hard to get very far
But we were born waiting in line
Grabbing the future by the eyes
Getting the hang of it, getting the hang of it, timing is everything, timing is everything
Getting the hang of it, timing is everything, getting the hang of it, timing is everything
Timing the hang of it, getting is everything,
Getting the timing of everything hanging is
Hanging the getting of timing the everything...
Like batteries we die, like rivers we dry
We fuel and recharge, that's humans and cars
My fun, my sun, be my homework done
Where did you go, you were my ride home
Is that what we want, is everything shot, is that what you ask for, 'cause that's what we got?
Nothing stands still
Nothing stands still
It’s neon octopus arms redecorating late at night 😍🥳
Love that song so much...
Gracias por publicar la letra
Is no one gonna mention how this is the best driving music?
I agree with my whole heart. This makes me drive like Rad Racer.
@@matthewhall4047 I lost my license 😭😭😭
@@vonvicious7737what happened?
At first I listened to his music because he is very handsome, but the real thing is that he has an amazing and versatil voice.
Lol
This and Out of the Blue are definitely my favorite songs from Phrazes For The Young.
Absolutely
dude, this song changed my life
+Angela Fernandez Julian Casablancas changed my life
+Natalia Vargas so true !!
agreed!
+Natalia Vargas same
no matter what julian sings, it always comes out amazing. his voice is perfect.
this song is overlooked. it is an accomplishment.
Ive come to fall in love all over again. I used to listen to this album on repeat daily.
Aaaand I’m back ❤️
I really love the riffs and the vocal melody during the “we might be here for a late night” verses, I like the chord progressions during the “getting the hang of it” parts. I kinda wished more songs both on this album and Strokes albums followed this sound
That melody and those lyrics are probably my favourite part of the entire album.
love the lyrics in every single one of his songs, with strokes or solo, this man is a fucking genius
And the Voidz.
Te amo Julian y soy hombre pero te amo, gracias por tu musica...
tienes toda la razón Julian casablancas es el mejor
jajajajaj lool
edgar duarte lol
:v
También los amo
lo que toca julian lo transforma en oro
Completamente deacuerdo
This song is so..epic. Best song on the album. One of my favorite songs ever. I don't know its just so good.
Me encanta esta cancion ❤
Honestly, this is by far my favorite song of his.
I listen to this song anytime I go to a new job
The chord progression from 3:40 to the chorus is David Bowie-level of genius
I was kinda six ten years ago...but I've been a fan for a long time now, and I don't care what brought you here. Boombox or not. I'm just glad people are appreciating and enjoying Julian's amazing music.
Geniallllllll!!!!!!! me encanta casablancas musica!!!!!!!!! un placer escucharrrrrrr
I was in class yesterday and realized that he had posted up a new song, so i waited to get home just to listen to it on my sound system. I couldnt wait to play the song! I rolled a joint and poured myself a glass of white wine. Since then I have heard the song more than 20 times and i just dont get it really, every time I play the song I cant wait to it finishes and then I start it all over again hoping to hear what he hears.
Happy birthday Julian!! You're amazing!!
this song hits me so hard in the feels and i love it(especially the last part he sings)
I love this song he needs more recognition, I wana do a tune with this guy
Ummmm he definitely has recognition
I know right! He's so amazing he can sing about really crappy things in life and make it sound beautiful *-*
I Love Julian Casablancas
This song transports me every time to the night I flew off for college.
The music sounds like something king crimson would do. I love this song.
Julian you are the number one ❤❤
Awesome songwriting. So interesting! Love the dark sound, and there are some really beautiful moments 3:50 - end is amazing.... JC's stuff and The Strokes is my favorite pop music by faaaaaarrrrrrrrr. His lyrics keep getting better and better. Amazing.
Julian and The Strokes are not pop.
Leyjam Touchie yeah they are
Leyjam Touchie I mean, they are not pop in terms of their place in the world of music. They don't receive radio attention like pop acts. But I would say that their sound is heavily influenced by pop music from the 80s and 90s (and in some cases, the 50s, 60s and 70s). I suppose "alt rock" may be a better classification, though. I guess I think of it as ear candy, which makes it "poppy" in my world.
***** Everything is everything
Tim Germain
Ofc, and death metal is opra XD
this is NOT crap. jeeze. Julian is amazing.
This song is always playing at my gym. My gym's the best. :))
reminds me of driving my 83` Pontiac Firebird through the city... this song rocks and flows! love him
Où ai-je erré pour ne jamais avoir entendu cette voix. Je découvre grâce aux Daft Punk. Je m'en veux terriblement. C'est vraiment un chanteur incroyable.
i like the way the guitar and the background sound when hes saying, getting the hang of it
Sequel to electricity scape, prequel to Johan Von Bronx
👀
i've listened to this album about 20 times yet i never understood the beauty of this song.
my eyes have opened now.... wow.
Legend
Legend ....
The 'getting the hang of it' part is so deep ...
I really love this song !
Wow just wow
WOW!!!!!!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!! REALLY GREAT JOB!
3:50 extreme goosebumps O.O
true for sure. but that one works with all of construction since 3:30 cheers
So many hours looking for this amazing song because it didn't come out of my head hahahahaha 💖
"like batteries we die, like rivers we dry"...wow
Man Julian you sound so good 🥹
my heart
Julian Casablancas, just the best thing that happened to the music
strange song, the first half, its boring and the second half is genius!! amazing
I don't really know much about him or his bands, but I like his voice in this song, it doesn't vanishes with the music. It's powerful. This one matches with the musical taste I had before, I would definitely have loved it if I would listened during my teenage years, but I'm here now.
Boiled. Goose.
XD
wow this song is amazing!
my favorite part is 1:02 to 1:24! i just saw julian live yesterday it was awesome :D!
this songs sounds like his new album with the voidz
it really does
yup, after 2:30 you can hear that
True
after i heard boombox,, it led me to find that julian is a good artist. i see how someone leads me to someone new and then i like them.
where did you go, you were my ride home...
nothing stands still
you know that him and the voidz are supposed to release the album tyranny this month right the release date is like the 20th or something like that
"like a lavaflow of brake lights"- It works perfectly with the preview video for Phrazes for the Young....one of the few musical genius' of this generation. Thanks Julian!
it's a prequel of "Johan Von Bronx"
This is a Great Tune! Its pushing a few boundaries, which is obviously unsettle even the sternest of fans. This is a bit of individuality from Julian ,abandoning the stock Pop song formula and creating something really special...the song just unravels and makes more and more sense as it grows! Can't wait for the rest!!!
Sounds like You're So Right off Angles
I thought that was just me who thought that 😂
I think everybody got there first, but Yes! He is an exceptional gift to music lovers. 🤩
te amooooooooooooooooooooo
Love this song. Last few lines are amazing!
This'll go a long way to filling the Muse shaped hole that's been left.
you have good taste good sir
+Saccharin3D Hahaha... we're the old Muse lover! I hate all the album after BH&R...
muse and the strokes are like the only bands that never made a bad album, everything from them is fucking gold imo
first impressions of the earth, past future present, comedown machine r bad
you live at once, is one the best songs they ever made, vision of division is genius, the rest ,m i dont like very much too!
I love how this song sounds like a precursor to the whole Voidz discography
Me: This music is awesome!
Friend: This sucks so bad?
Cop: So he fell out the window all by himself?
Me: yep
XD
please re upload this this sounds like a 2010 mp3
Kinda reminds me of David Bowie and Radiohead, but always in his own style
this guy has sweet talent. When i'm running, i only listen to this song. really gets you going if you like this type of music. Sing on man!
i feel his musical wrath!!
i wish i heard about you before the feature you did with boombox, you're amazing
1:02 Feels like I'm reaching the climax in a video game.
this song is amazing!!!!!! i want it soo badly!
The beginning reminds me of Little Girl
soooooooooooooo delighted he is comin to oxegen this year
Far better than drake as a music writer
Tony Salazeur yo you can't even compare the two. Julian is so ahead of him he's not even worth mentioning. I mean, drake cant even write his own lyrics to begin with. Julian is infinitely more talented
aberranT you right you right 😂
Nick Drake?
Throughout this decade I've seen people compare one rock band with a pop band, which is totally unrelated like comparing Coldplay with Muse, but to see a rapper being compared to a rock God like Julian? LOL
the chorus is just awesome, no one can deny that!
Whoa, this kind of sounds like Radiohead.
Luke Tia except a lot better
This song is oddly infectious.
I think this is an amazing artist. I cannot undertand why some people hate change. Just take it in,...this muic really touches me.. This man is a $#$%ing genius. the strokes and king sof loen are the best bands out there no matter what. its real music.
I think it's a brilliant song. I'm a huge Strokes fan, but I'm equally thrilled to see Julian exploring other avenues. I love the way the chorus escalates around the 3:50 mark. The best thing he's written since Reptilia.
IndieRockOwns, well said. It does sound a bit average at first. But this song really grows on you. I find it one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Very creative and profound.
Julian Casablancas is a musical genius. Very artistic and really expresses his SELF in his music whether it's via The Strokes or his solo stuff.
I read a recent interview in which Casablancas candidly described the Strokes making new music earlier this year and specifically mentioning intending most of these songs for a new Strokes album, but the other band members flat out rejected them, so he decided to release them as a solo artist. He also said in a few months the band will resume working on their 4th album.
I will be a fan no matter what Julian Casablancas. Every decision he makes with his music is brilliant and nobody tell me otherwise. I love every song he has been associated with. He sure has a way to make everything better
this is one of the greatest songs ever
This man is the most underrated musical genius of the last 20 years
this is like intense video game music.. I Love It!!
probably the most underrated song of the entire album...
i reaaally love this one because we get to hear the full potential
of julian's voice... just check out the chorus.
ahhh i need to hear MORE!!!!
probably the most underrated song in phrazes...
i reaaaally like it... julian uses the top of his voice in this one
