My life is so content right now, this new album makes life feel so complete. Even the void, the empty spaces seem beautiful now. It’s amazing how your music can fill me with so much joy
France Inter, the main French radio station, mentioned this new album by The Voidz this morning after a few years of absence. I admit that I didn't know this group which reminds me of New Order but more sophisticated. I rushed to research the productions of this group and this album is my quintescence of music. Thanks to Julian and his friends for giving us their album but I'm going to hurry up and buy the vinyl and CD in the store. Long live you, may God bless you.
I’ve been training my now 5 year old to listen to the voidz for years now, she likes the music very much and doesn’t know anything about what’s on the radio, so she’s gonna be the coolest kid at school
absolutely can’t wait to bust this one out on a road trip in 2050 just to turn around to my kids and be like “what the hell y’all know about the VOIDZ!?”
I just started relistening to a lot of the voidz old music so glad this came out. I used to drive around socal with my best friend listening to their music. She died a few years back so it's been hard to get back into it. Just wanted to comment to say thank you, the music rocks and I'm glad I'm here to enjoy it.
@@domestika12 same thought, it reminded me of several cuts from the "moon shaped pool album". I don't like that album much compared to other radiohead albums, but spectral analysis is great, much more stirring than anything on that album.

@@AngelGuzman-yl6it I was about to disagree with you, but then I magically acquired the best taste in music in the whole world, and now I totally agree with you.
First thoughts: About half the album was released as singles already. Overall, I really like it. I think it doesn’t match “Tyranny” but might surpass “Virtue” in quality. There does seem to be a vision here, creating consistency among the tracks. They are leaning into the microtonal Arabic rock with autotune, classical inspired chord progressions, and more guitar. The new addition seems to be that Casablancas has added an octaver pedal to his vox, going down an octave. “Overture” opens. Making the classical influence explicit. “Square Wave” Starts with a ‘riff’ lifted straight from Joy Division, but then goes into an Arabic autotune verse. The chorus is powerful, but I think it’s just the Strokes’ “The Adults are Talking” chorus. Both use a IV vii I progression and the drum beat is similar: highly syncopated, with the hi-hat opening on the 3rd beat. I wonder if this is tongue in check or an exercise in showing what his two bands can do with similar material. “Prophecy of the dragon” Fits Casablancas vision of having the third song on an album being driven by a metal riff. Released last year. The chorus is weird and unconventional. “7 horses”, released days before the album. Strong song, epic chorus, gives us what we want: those arpeggiated guitar chords with a cyberpunk synth sheen, Casablancas crooning in autotune. Has a baroque minor tonality, emphasized by the guitar outro. A good example of what the Voidz are all about. “Spectral Analysis” Human sadness part 2. No one can do it like Casablancas. Very stirring, powerful, achingly sad. Great chord progression. New sound for the voidz. Strong Radiohead influences, reminiscent of the songs on the “a moon shaped pool” album. Or could be a coincidence of both composers being influenced by classical. “Flexorcist” Fun song, came out last October. I think the originality of execution in a song like this is sometimes lost on people. It’s the genius of Voidz songs. Taken as a whole, it feels like a pretty conventional 80s synth pop song. But if you pull parts and look at them, they are odd/unique. “Perseverance- 1C2S” Beautiful song. Subtle, gentle drum groove with congas. Big chorus, but understated, heavily compressed vocal. Strong release because it’s a foil to the non-diatonic verse. Chorus is followed by a characteristic Voidz guitar solo, with light accompaniment from second lead guitar. “All the Same”. Released as a single 7 months ago. I didn’t love it then because it didn’t have that idiosyncratic dark and gloomy Voidz sound but put in the context of a Voidz album with some of those songs, it works better, it’s bright and sunny, (though the lyrics are not), and is a reprieve from the darkness. With that, it’s a good song with interesting ideas, a repeating guitar melody with a contour that creates a bouncy rhythm. The bridge goes minor and gives us a good distorted guitar solo, before transitioning with a Strokes-like alternating inversions of arpeggios, back to the chorus. “When will the time of these bastards end” odd song. Has a shuffle rhythm and downtuned vocals. The arrangement of the chorus seems almost designed to build up then cut off before arriving at the height. “Walk off (outro)” overture played on guitar, choppily. Overall: a great album, with great songs and I’m sure it’ll reward repeat listens due to sonic textures and artifacts buried in the mix.
Thanks for this, informative and interesting! If I were tripping, this LP would sound great. but I'm not. I like some of it, but overall, it's a *little* too chill and undernourished in parts...

Some songs from this album bring me a strong sense of nostalgia. Specially “Square Wave”, “7 Horses” and “When will the time of these bastards end”… Nostalgia from the time when I dreamed of living the life I have now. A new country, my apartment, my job… I thought about this back in 2018, 2019… And now, finally… I am living everything I once dreamed of.
Here me out: If Flexorcist, All the Same, and Prophesy of the Dragon were not released months ago and brand new to the release date - you would all be loving this album. That said, Square Wave, Spectral Analysis, and Perseverance are great! The only song I'm not enjoying is When Will the Time of These Bastards End. Also it's really only an 8 song album with the intro and outro just being short instrumentals. If they would have added Russian Coney Island, Did My Best, and the Eternal Tao 2.0 this would have gone down as one of the all time great albums. P.S. I could care less if the cover is AI art ... and I'm an artist.
This album would’ve had a lot more impact if either Flexorcist or Propechy of the Dragon had been saved for the album release. Great fckin album tho been listening to Square Wave, 7 Horses, and WWTTBE nonstop
Maybe I am reaching, but it feels like Jule's compositions are reflecting more on his struggles with divorce, broken up families, leaving his kids behind for the road, regrets, acceptance of and the dread of walking into the last half of life. There's also the issue of his sobriety, when you realize you're a person who is easier to deal with sober, that desire will never leave your bones. Maybe that's more of me and less of him, though.

Теперь когда я слушаю alien crime lord, human sadness, prophecy of the dragon, (идр, а также некоторые треки the Strokes) у меня физический болит сердце+пов ад, тем не менее, спасибо группе за столь эпичные треки под которые не оставляют равнодушными, square wave & whe will time...
On first listen I had NO clue what to think, only “this is weird as fuck” Now I have the Square Wave vocal melody going through my head nonstop. Also, Spectral Analysis has already become one of my top songs this year, such a unique track for then
Dude me too, when you listen to the tracks a few times. Somehow they transform. Sounds so weird at first then, its like listening to a whole new song and I cant stop listening.
If you think this record sounds discordant or is mixed poorly or whatever dork shit you're on, trust me, you just don't get it. If that's you, you can change that by not sleeping for 36 hours, then taking 3-5 reps of 20 minute naps on the floor of a library bookshelf aisle, and then sprinting to make it to work on time through the polluted downtown of some once great, now dystopian, city with this blaring in your ears. It will be the best music has ever sounded. Moreover, the first couple listens I gave this only yielded a tamely enjoyable, but not too memorable, account, but ever since that frantic but mediational listening experience, everything has clicked. Seriously it's crazy how much each song has INFECTED my mind with resonant frequencies. And every single note that may have confused you initially -the blunt transitions, the drowned vocals, the heavy use of autotune & synths- will eventually reveal unique sublimity The fact people are shitting on this disc with such glee and amusement after what must obviously be 2 or 3 listens only strengths my conviction in this gem. 91/100
i disagree, it sounds like the voidz, which is their established sound.. virtue had a different energy, a lot more vibrant for lack of word. this is definitely darker and gloomier which I don't mind

I remember blasting this album back then in the 3024 with my wife and kids, good and easier times in fact
thank you from the bottom of my heart, be well guyz
All the songs are growing on me already 😢 heeeelp
And every single note that may have confused you initially -the blunt transitions, the drowned vocals, the heavy use of autotune & synths- will eventually reveal unique sublimity
The fact people are shitting on this disc with such glee and amusement after what must obviously be 2 or 3 listens only strengths my conviction in this gem.
91/100
Heard mentality dude, it really sucks that one persons opinion chooses all
Bro it truly isn't that deep. Saying dork shit unironically... Makes you just that. I like the album btw
Pleaaaase... international tour NOW!
This is perhaps their most consistent album. I didn't skip a track, and it reminds me a bit of The New Abnormal.
i noticed this too, maybe i am crazy but on Square Wave there’s a lot of similarities with Brooklyn Bridge
7 horses reminds me of ode to the mets!!!
im happy to hear this and cant wait for the next one; sounds like virtue part 2 to me
i disagree, it sounds like the voidz, which is their established sound.. virtue had a different energy, a lot more vibrant for lack of word. this is definitely darker and gloomier which I don't mind
Woooo The voidz está de regreso
Emoción ❤🎉
I bought headphones just for this moment 🎉⌛
I actually really love the new album tbh.
you guys are so real for this
