The night walk looked really peaceful. They missed out on the opportunity to place easter eggs in Las Vegas and other major cities for those who like to walk. To be fair they cant even finish the core part of the game it seems lol.
Welcome to my part of the world! I live in Huonville, due west of Snug. This part of Australia is much greener than that in the game and with thousands more kangaroos, wallabies and pademelons per square kilometre.
I have to agree with Dirt. I was there in the late 70's, and I just can't recall the water flowing up at any point. But I did do a lot of acid in the 80s, so I guess anything is possible.
I was in Snug a year ago, and drove through New Norfolk. If you go for another day, you’ll hit some magnificent mountains - Walls of Jerusalem, Cradle Mountain, etc. I’ve spent a bit of time in Flight Simulator 2020 to the west of there - it’s probably the largest area in the English speaking world that has no roads but is NOT a desert. Pure wilderness, just walking tracks, and the odd dirt airstrip to get the hikers in or out if they don’t want to double back. Also when you got stuck in the first hills you went very close to a great lookout called Mount Wellington that does magnificent sunrises over the capital city Hobart. I’ve spent hours capturing simulated sunrises there in Flight Simulator 2020, tweaking the clouds and exact clock settings, to recreate the photos I’ve taken up there. It was incredibly successful and I’ll be publishing a video of that here (or on an alt channel that just does flight sim theatre and fun). I’ve seen another RUclipsr do a documentary about the famous bridge collapse that you can see from Mount Wellington - and in his documentary, he used MSFS 2020 to produce really excellent B-roll scenery of the bridge and river. Speaking of getting stuck at the bottom of the cliff - that scene looked almost exactly like the ending of the famous Australian movie “Picnic at Hanging Rock” where a bunch of schoolgirls in 1800s white dresses go for a walk just like you - in bush just like that, but west of Sydney, in the Blue Mountains - and they disappear up a cliff just like that. Spooky. I had the famous music from that scene in my head when you were going to vanish or die in that similar scene.
