  • This is an "Art swap" project with my friend Dana. She created a great spaceship cutout piece for me. In return, I customized this 1970 Ford Mustang fastback to look as close to her father's as possible.
I hope you enjoy this ASMR-style video of customizing this Hot Wheels Mustang fastback.
Bill started customizing and restoring #Matchbox, #Hot Wheels, #Tonka, and other #die-cast toy cars and trucks after reminiscing on his days as a kid playing, destroying, smashing and just being a kid playing with these great toys. After seeing Marty Matchbox Makeovers, he decided he could do that too. He jumped in headfirst and started making videos and learning new and better ways along the way to bring these toys back to life.
We hope you enjoy these videos, and please let us know what you think in the comments, all constructive comments are welcome.

nice work on all of the detailing. You should've included that in your video description, More people could find you much sooner. You've given me some ideas about the side marker lights. Thanks

Dry erase markers soften decals !? Mind blown! On a more personal note, a good friend of mine had a fastback from that same era ('67?) that he claims was one of two prop cars from a TV show pilot that never made it to air. That was a fun car to ride in.

I was amazed it worked as well. It did take entire dry erase marker to remove them. What was the better surprise is the paint look untouched.

Great work on removing those tampos from the casting! :) Did your use of the dry erase method affect the looks of the clear coat shine underneath the tampos?

Yes just dry erase, and it took forever but the paint finish was perfect.

Nice trick my frend. I have an idea, I usually remove tampons by rubbing them with eucalyptus oil or acetone oil. it works faster and instant. maybe you can try it.
