I'm a 80's baby and I always feel sad for my little ones because I look at them and know that many of the musical artists that are out now can't touch this level of musical talent. Music was one of the things that always inspired me to overcome hard times and enjoy the good times in life. It's like we all have a soundtrack to certain events or memories that occur in our lives. I know contracts and the industry has changed to keep real inspirational music out. My kids will know the new stuff but always hear the old too as long as I'm around. You don't know what real music is if you don't know the classics.

Yea cool!!
I'm so honored to be of that crowd
2023 and i still prefer this version ❤❤ raw emotions 😊😊 people actually sang about how they are feeling 🎉🇯🇲🇯🇲
Sorry Celine but this is Patti’s song all the way! She rocks it! No contest. ❤
Both ladies did amazing. Both brought something unique and beautiful.
Yes!
@@helixmoore7636 totally agree with you 💗💗💗💙💙💙❤❤❤
I disagree... I love Patti, but Celine's vocals brought this song the power it needed.
100%
are there any vocalists left?...i mean no ones voice blows me away anymore...the greats are leaving us too fast too soon...need more pattis and ettas and annies...
my sentiments exactly
I know what you mean. Search "Stephanie Mills - Home Live at the Apollo Theater.. It was 1980..She had me in awe..
Martina McBride's "Anyway"....is pretty powerful.....
Marta Wasyk i totally agree
Marta Wasyk Ill always Miss Whitney Houston
After hearing Patti talk about her sisters dying from cancer and the day she filmed this video...wow...this video and song takes on a whole new meaning.
I'll say it does
Yet another song written by the incomparable Diane Warren ❤
HAPPY 77th BIRTHDAY BELATEDLY (May 24, 2021) TO OUR WONDERFULLY OUTSTANDING SONGBIRD MISS PATTI LABELLE! MUCH LOVE 2 U MAMA P!👍
Who's still listening in 2020?? A timeless classic!

Me ..

Meeeee
DEFINITELY PATTI'S SONG. 👍👍☝☝💜💜💜💜🌹🌹🌹🍷🍷🍾❤❤
Loved this theme song from a James Bond Movie…. ♥️
That moment when Patti gives you life
😢😢😢😢
😆😆😆😆
When she kick her shoes off its all done job well done.
How can you not love this woman; She has been in every one of our sentiments , our "love losses" our heart breaks!
We grew up with her and my hats is of to this magnifecent lady of our times🥰
🌹 CLASSIC FOR ALL TIME 🌹
Celine's cover was wonderful, but this is Patti's song. Always will be.
This song alone made Patti an icon.
@FriedSpamable bad news. Patti was first in 1989, Celine in 90s.
@Brent Jones 👍👍👍absolutely.
timothy chung No, no, no---Patti recorded it first. Celine covered it and copied the exact way Patti sang it. Unfortunately white radio, excuse me top 40 radio didn't play Patti's version.
@@donnasharpe7344 you are so right.
She sang EVERYTHING that there was to sing in this song WOW. I love Celine DIon but this song belongs to Patti.
Well, now it belongs to them both.
patti is AWESOME but celine's has that IT quality that Patti's lacks.!!
Greg Ras If you seriously think she is lacking the “It” factor after hearing that come out of this song you really need to listen again. This woman is dripping in the “It” factor unlike now days back then it was the “It” factor that built the strength behind songs like this. A shame you can’t tell. Celine is one of the bests of best but this is Patti’s song all the way.

Nobody and I mean NOBODY could do this song the way the Queen does it. She has the fiery vocals that could unleash all the emotions in the song!!! Everytime I listen to this song..it feels...always...that the high heavens are opening and blessing me with this music...Good Lord Miss Patti you are a gift from above and your music is timeless ! Hail to thr Queen of Soul !
Celine better
@@goldranger5182 Excuse me? Patti should have sued Celine for covering this song, that is why artists ask permission.
Agree 100%

❤❤❤❤❤ I don't know what to say Patti LaBelle you are and I love your sweet potato
Love this song - between Miss LaBelle (losing her sister - R.I.P) and Celine Dion (for her love René Angéli - R.l.P), both had different interpretations from their times and sung it beautifully! Still powerful today.
I Love this Classic!! Such an Amazing Woman to have just left her sister funeral, God gave her the Strength!🙏🏽🙏🏽
Born 82
totally agree... for every song old song... is a switch to some distant memory.. that gets replayed whenever we hear that song
Thanks for sharing! We have the solution: Share, share ,share if we truly care!🎹🌈
I never knew she shot this video the day after her sister's funeral. Makes the video that much more emotional.
It's been a long time but I heard this on the radio today and had to play it when I got home. I love Celine as an artist but there's no topping this. Patti's voice is magnificent and her body movements gives this song Life.
Agreed.
Got that RIGHT
There is a reason that there are over 10 million views to this. It is a classic!
License to kill is probably one of the top soundtrack from a James Bond movie. Gladys with the title track and Patti at the end . That's really sweet.
Agreed!!
@@jeyfomson6364 Both of those songs are perfect.
My favorite post Roger Moore Bond Movie. Fell in love with Talisa and Carey in this movie
I discovered this song because of Celine, i love both versions. It is unnecesary the comparison, different voices and styles. :D
this song will never ever be forgotten. ❤️
Patti LaBelle owns this song. Love her forever! The hair is huge, but this was the 80s. 😀
I prefer this version Patti got the perfect voice for this song
I used to only know Celine's version but the day I discovered this till now it's been my favorite ❤️
