But no singer has her tone and resonance and that is what makes her really good and gains set her apart from many other singers. I have seen videos of Celine covers where the singer has really nailed the high notes and many probably thinks even better than Celine. But the tone or resonance hasn't been there which made it sound boring or not that good anyway. People are so focused on high notes so things like tone and resonance becomes forgotten.

Two different styles and songs, imo. In a case like this no one is better than the other if we don't use the original is the best by default. Patti is more soul or something like that and Celine is more pop. Both good in their own right so I guess it boils down to which genre you prefer. Soul isn't my thing so I'll go with the pop version as in Celine Dion on this one.
