Truly agree. I think Steve saw that himself when he said this was the best performance by a young person. Skype is an old soul. I pray God will give her 'friends that will stick closer than a brother'. I'm so glad Patti shared with her her experience and told her she didn't have to blow her candle out to use the gift God gave her. I pray Patti helps her find a vocal coach to protect her vocal cords. It almost felt like Patti was grandma #2..of course being Patti, she would be Glamma😉
This little girl has a talent beyond her years! The fact that Miss Patti, her idol, stepped out and she still didn't miss a beat is a testament to her professionalism and at only 10 years old! Wow!!

She’s amazing!! Full of confidence. Truly feels the music. I pray someone will connect her with a great vocal coach so she won’t damage her vocal cords by forcing her voice to do some things her voice can’t support yet, because that kind of damage is hard to repair. She is a true inspiration and has a gift!!!

Oh this is an old video. Skye has definitely been trained since then, she’s 14 now and was on Broadway for almost two years. She also played young Aretha Franklin in Respect. My friend has definitely had plenty of training ❤️❤️

Little kids stuggle with jealousy and being impressed. Those other kids are stunned, and they'll be the first ones to say "I went to school with Skye!" someday.
We all find our tribe at different points in life. It’s sad that little angels like this have to feel alone in childhood while celebrating a gift. But guaranteed when she finds her people, her life will take flight in ways the mean girls could only ever dream of. It broke my heart too but she has this moment to treasure for the rest of her life 💖🙏🏾
@grasspriet-84 I just posted about that part because in that moment her poise, vocal gift all disappeared and I saw a 10 year old little girl, sensitive little girl ~ I want her to be herself though let's remember she's just a child and so are those other kids and we know how insecurity in some children can act out in very negative ways. It would very cool for Steve or Patty to go to that school to talk to the students from that age group maybe the next age down & ask that ALL school staff from top to bottom & parents who are the caretakers of those children attend. NOT the whole school so it's an event. I believe Steve Harvey actually would be the best actually to do be the speaker. Whoops, I think I wrote almost my whole post. Sorry...take care ~

By looking at Patti LaBelle and the little 10 years old girl, I had tears in my eyes, and I felt like what it looks like to be in good hands. I still say to this day that Patti LaBelle has the best female voice ever. It's not about riffs, runs, high notes, screaming and yelling. Patti's voice is strong, powerful, and can make you cry. Also, this precious little girl has an awesome voice and she is so humble, just amazing!😊❤

There are many people such as Pastor Shirley Ceasar and Tamela Mann who has powerful strong voices so maybe you haven’t heard of my icon, Let me introduce you to her….Whitney Houston. In my opinion nobody had a voice like Whitney Houston. R.I.P Whitney 😢

I liked the end conversation between the little girl (Skye Turner) and the legendary Patti Labelle. That touched my heart 'cause I resonated with it. I had a special gift too when I was in school and college. I was a professional hip-hop dancer and a powerful b-girl. My friends knew I had killer dance moves in college. They would always opt me out of their groups just because I had something they didn't have. I realized that they were jealous of me. I saw them millions of times trying to blow my candle so that theirs could shine brighter. But eventually I won in the end, I knew that God gave me a gift and Imma showcase it to the world and that's what I did and I'm proud of it. My achievements were so great and I was so happy. I couldn't see my haters no more. They automatically disappear from your life and life gets so much better 😅💯👍🏼

Tears of joy when I hear her sing!
Had me in tears . I played that song for my mother's service . It was the words for me. She left me in foster homes at 6 but I wanted her to know it was her that I loved and her that I needed. I was 27 when she passed and I'm 49 now. Mommy your free now. The foster system molded me. I wouldn't be me if you wasn't you. Rest in peace mommy
I have to tell you something I'd normally never ever share with anyone who doesn't know me, and as a human who's surviving forcible adoption, and I'm speaking of my own child who the state of Idaho gave up for adoption after I'd truly done anything they asked me to do, but they still gave the baby I birthed up for adoption. However I also have a great many siblings who are legally adopted and otherwise, I have so much gratitude for I don't have words to be able to justly depict how relevant they are to my life and the quality of life growing up, and my baby was barely a year old I won't get into the details except it was crap and over a broken weed bong, however 15 years ago, and she turned 18 in January and I've been trying to find her specifically to be able to tell her she has remarkable siblings, and anything else she wants to know I do, but I have no contact with her, and I've not been able to help except feel like they didn't tell her, or she doesn't want to meet me, until I read ur comment and realize now she doesn't have to have contact with me to be loved or love what she might not know what makes her love it! Thank you!

My heart broke in two listening to this girl sing, she hasn't got talent she has been blessed with by God with the voice of an angel. When Skye told Patti she has no friends,not one single friend because they are jealous, it broke my heart. She's so articulate at 10yrs of age, she still is amazing now 14yrs old.

I am so proud of this little girl as if she was my own! She is so poised!! Really confident and controlled...some kids would just go crazy and mayb run off to hug Patti but she kept her composure! She acts so mature yet still has that childish humility....she is also conscious of the fact that jealousy is real because she is talented...talent beyond the ordinary! Patti Labelle was so right, there was nothing to tell her or coach her in her singing...her talent is directly from God! She must have humble parents or guardians...keep under the "Godfidence" she will be unstoppable! I just love it!❤🎉
