u guys r funny. how u people got involve in Indy Racing anyway, while most accross the pond wont even consider this racing.love ur passion for 500. Long live Indianapolis
We had kind of drifted in and out watching the 500 for the past 4 years or so but last year with lockdown we decided to properly watch IndyCar and we fell in love with this great category in Motorsport! Then we had been doing F1 RUclips and realised there wasn't a lot on IndyCar outside David Land and thought we could do our little bit to help the sport grow! 😊long live Indianapolis indeed!
Thanks for the feedback Matthew! I think all the ones with notable best finishes were on the cards and others were mentioned but a category on the cards may have been a good option! Thanks 😊
Thank you!! Practice was sweet today. All 35 cars were out there. Top Gun racing had mechanical trouble. Bourdais’ engine caught on fire. Hopefully Top Gun gets more laps tomorrow. 👍
No problem at all! As always thanks for supporting and taking the time to comment! Yeah was a great race and great to see Rocket Rinus get his first series win!
I would (jokingly) argue that Charlie Kimball's biggest moment was that he was the (very) slow car that Hildebrand slid into the wall avoiding in the 2011 500. BTW, Charlie's father is longtime F1 designer Gordon Kimball, who was involved with the creation of many successful cars, notably the all-conquering MP4/4 in F1 and the Chaparral 2K in Indycar. Still pulling for Newgarden, it seems like his season is building to a great (winning?) run this year. I have s soft spot for Ed Carpenter, and if he were to win, it would surprise no one for him to retire in victory lane a la Sam Hanks. Also, nice work on the new graphics.
Oh poor Charlie! I thought it was definitely nicer to bring up his Chip Ganassi race 😉 and wow I knew his dad was a race car designer but I didn't know he was that good of one! Brilliant! Yeah in rooting for Josef, just feels the last little piece of the puzzle for him to complete! Fingers crossed for him in 2 weeks time! Thanks for the feedback on the graphics Scott and also as always thanks for taking the time to comment!
@@IndyFanatics I don't think Gordon Kimball was ever the head designer in F1, so that blunts his reputation a bit (that and the fact that there were two other Gordons that designed F1 cars, Koppuck, and Murray), plus he walked away from the sport some years ago. I do believe, that he was the main designer for the winning Wildcat in '82 (driven by another Gordon funnily enough). I'm still trying to process the fact that after 5 races, Penske hasn't won and Andretti doesn't even have a podium.
Thats a lot of Gordon's 😂 I know it's mad isn't it! Shows just how competitive the grid is this year in the sport! You kinda hope when you predict this could be a really great season it comes true, but yeah with this start it certainly has the promise of being a fantastic season!
Thank you for this thorough and easy to digest overview. I am already an Indycar super fan so not too much of the info is new to me but I think a fresh viewer would have no trouble understanding this video.
Thankyou for the comment 😊 yeah we try and balance the content out from stuff Indy Fans would enjoy and content that hopefully encourages new watchers! We're glad you think it would be easy to follow for a fresh viewer though 😊
Honestly, I'm shocked that Jimmie isn't in the 500. For someone who has bossed NASCAR, you would think he'd be chomping at the bit for the marquis race in INDY.
Yeah as a driver it's shocking but think his wife and family played a big part! He's not the spring chicken he used to be and driving single seaters is a whole different ball game! I'd be very surprised if he's not in it next year though!
I know it's the month of May and the hot topic is the 500, but if you could do one of your "who is" videos on Bobby Unser, it would be fantastic. He was not only one of the best drivers in Indy history, but he was such a great spokesperson for the sport for such a long time a tribute would mean a lot
Will see you on Friday! The video was definitely going to be on a legend of the Indy 500 and with Bobby sadly passing he definitely is the man we will look at.
Great to have an all-in-one guide to the runners and riders this year although I'm gonna die mad about the pronunciation of the hard "H" in Helio Castroneves' name 😂
@@IndyFanatics Ah, it's cool. I love what you guys do, and I've been broadcasting (either on radio, RUclips, podcasts, whatever) for 20 years - sometimes it helps to have someone give you the little nudge in the ribs to point out the little things. Good to know you guys can take the nudge without stomping out of the room!
@@ChasingLamely ah thats awesome you've been involved in the business for so long! Glad you like what we do as well 😊 Haha yeah we go into this very green in terms of IndyCar with it being our first full time season we watched last year! So we know we have a lot to catch up on and always appreciate the help people like you offer us in the comments 😊
@@IndyFanatics no worries! I've just joined your discord, so if you ever want me to go through some stuff with you to tighten things up or whatever, feel free to hit me up :)
So the maximum cars that cam enter a race is 33 and rarely do other races get close to that number, just the 500 draws those entries because the prize for winning as a stand alone event is so great! There are 35 guys who will try to qualify for the race next week and bump day is quite an interesting shoot out to see which will be the 2 in this case who'll miss out! Hope that helps and glad you enjoyed 😊
Indy 500 is the biggest pay out all year so that's money and glory as you get your face sculpted and put on the trophy. So you are immortalised for the sport. For overall championship it would be the glory as compared to other sports indycar isn't that great pay! But you get the Astor Cup!
Yeah it does atm which seems a surprise! But hey could all change the rest of this month and if one of the Penske drivers win the 500 it would be no surprise....Well unless it was Scott McLaughlin of course!
Hello, I'm Japanese.
As a Japanese, I have high hopes for consecutive victories. Of course, Takuma Sato!
Hi! Well Takuma looks very quick again there is every chance of back to back wins! So a good pick for your national driver!
This hype for the Indy 500 is the top moment of the racing year! Greeting from Brazil!!!!
Greetings my friend! Exactly the greatest spectacle in racing is almost upon us!
Such a great run down of all the drivers 😊 Thank you! As expected I love Jack's card 😉 Well worth the wait 🙌 Bring on the 500!
No problem at all Kaitey 😊 glad you liked the Jack card 😊 bring on the 500 indeed! Cannot wait!
33 cars/drivers, and I don't think its to far a stretch to say 20-22 of the have a legit shot at the Borg Warner trophy!
Absolutely crazy that isn't it! Such a competitive field! Brilliant to have that many competitive drivers on the grid!
Here's hoping Takuma wins his 3rd Indy 500 this year! :)
Would be a fantastic achievement and hey the guy is lightning quick so always stands a chance!

Something I would have liked to see in that video would’ve been their best finishes
Thanks for the feedback Matthew! I think all the ones with notable best finishes were on the cards and others were mentioned but a category on the cards may have been a good option! Thanks 😊
Sweet graphics! I honestly thought Sebastian Bourdais was posing in front of a french flag for a minute lol.
Haha thanks Bob 😊 glad you liked them 😁

No problem! Thanks for watching! Yeah was great to see all 35 cars out on track 😊 fingers crossed for Top Gun tomorrow!
I would like a Deeper Dive in the 3 Near Comebacks of the 103rd Indianapolis 500: Alexander Rossi, James Hinchcliffe, and Santino Ferucci.
Will definitely look to do a video on that in the future! Would be a good one! 😊
Thanks for the comprehensive look at the entry list. Was today’s Indy Grand Prix great, or what ? Keep up the great work.

Could be his year!
HELIO NO.5 COMING SOON
Go Scott Mclaughlin

What you say about Castro Neves again???????????Unlikely ????????? hahahahahahahahahaha

Learn to pronounce the names, ok?
Hi Tim, thanks for the comment, we've been corrected on Helio, is there any other names that needed correcting for you? 😊
