- Quick and easy Butter Pecan Ice Cream is creamy, crunchy, sweet and salty! So heavenly!
Ingredients:
Ice Cream Base-
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup whole milk
a couple dashes sea salt
2 cups heavy cream
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Candied Pecans-
1 cup pecans
3 Tbsp butter
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 Tbsp brown sugar

I used this recipe to make Butter Almond ice cream, replacing the obvious and OMG!!! I also used butter almond extract and vanilla extract - Wow! Thanks for the recipe!

Thank you for watching! I'm so sorry, I totally spaced on this one. I think of it as "no cook" since I don't use eggs and need to cook the ice cream base, but I totally forgot about toasting the nuts! 😆 My mistake, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway.

My fifth time making this!!! I wanted less pecans so I only put a tablespoon or 2 and kept the table spoon of brown sugar, but used 1 tablespoon of butter....i wanted less in the ice cream😊😊

Can you make the pecans ahead of time and store them in the fridge or do you recommend adding them to the ice cream base right away?

My most favorite of all is Mayfield southern butter pecan. I notice itctastescso much creamier and better than the rest. It says it has buttermilk in it. Would you have an idea how to make this with a buttermilk recipe? I bet this is good cause there ain't a bad butter pecan, but If I could makecit like Mayfield it sure would save me some money lol.
Hi there! I have never made ice cream with buttermilk, but my 1st thought is that you would use it to replace the milk? I may have to look into it and try that sometime. If you try it, I would love to hear about your results. Thanks for watching and giving me a new idea!
@@HappilyHomecooking I was thinking the same about replacing the milk. I've never made ice cream at all so thank you for showing me it's not as hard as I thought it would be. I've tasted many different butter pecans, and Mayfield is just so differently delicious I started comparing ingredients lists. Its the one that uses whole fat items and buttermilk. I wouldn't say that you HAVE to toast the pecans, but I just generally do out of habit, since it enhances their flavor and texture in my opinion. But I have never tried it without toasting them and it may taste exactly the same for all I know.😆 If you try it, I would love to hear how it turns out!

What if you don't have an ice cream machine?
I have never tried making ice cream without an ice cream maker, but I know there are definately methods out there for that. Sorry I can't be of more help!
