"WOW!" was my expression all throughout this demo, Jasper. This was the first exposé of this plugin that actually revealed to me the deeper benefit and power of my purchase. Haha... I had previously purchased it because... Sonible. Now, among many other uses, I know how to, ahem, "borrow" elements from recordings when needed or desired. Thank you!

That's wild. One of those occasional plugins that changes the game.

Great work on this! Honest opinion... I'm considering getting this for podcast. My cohost and I are in different cities and with the service we use to connect, I find we have a lot of (often mis-timed) bleed in each other's headphones.
Would that help here? Caveat... I play news clips in show. Would this still know those to be speech? What about if I played something with a music bed?
    Is this pretty CPU heavy?
Appreciate it! It's Total Babble Podcast, btw.

Be careful buying sonible plugins as focusrite use their tech for their take on these plugins. Not overly happy both focusrite and wonible didn't make this *VERY* clear

Thanks for the tip. I assume you're referring to the FAST suite of plugins bundled with the Focusrite Scarlett line. I looked into that just now based on your comment. I'll be acquiring a Scarlett soon, so I'll be experiencing that overlap with my Sonible smart:bundle + gate suite. ...
In my case, I'm not phased (EDIT: 😂 too much music production on the brain - FAZED) by the overlap because I started with Sonible first, without any awareness or intent at the time that I would look to Focusrite as an interface option. Certainly, the situation would be different had I started in the other direction - purchased Focusrite first, then bought Sonible. BUT that would clearly be my bad because I would be knowingly buying software nearly identical to what I already had - knowledge from plugin descriptions alone, regardless of any awareness or non-awareness of the FAST collaboration.. ...
The burden for making the shared tech "VERY clear" to consumers falls plainly and completely with Focusrite: Sonible sells plugins to everyone regardless of interface - it would be too cumbersome for them to warn in every ad or demo NOT to buy their suite if you plan on buying a Focusrite unit. On the other hand, Focusrite should make it clear, if not explicit, that the technology behind FAST is licensed from Sonible and duplicates their plugins' functionalities; therefore purchaser, you might not need the Sonible suite if you're satisfied with the elements included in the FAST suite. Again, that burden falls completely with Focusrite. ...
I'll send Focusrite a message requesting this explicit notification on behalf of future Focusrite buyers who haven't yet purchased Sonible products. Perhaps you should do the same.
A great public/customer relations approach for Focusrite would be to offer a rebate for Focusrite Scarlett purchasers that can supply Sonible proof-of-purchase(s) through Plugin Boutique or other outlets at the time of registering their Focusrite hardware. However, as I see it, the FAST suite, like most plugin bundles included with other manufacturer interface hardware, are not considered part of the retail cost of the hardware unit; they are bundled in to make the hardware unit attractive over other manufacturers' units that may come with no software bundle. Of course, over time, all interface manufacturers will include plugin bundles to stay competitive, so plugin bundles simply become a de facto part of an audio interface purchase. Meaning, though it would be great for PR/CR, I doubt Focusrite would ever consider such a rebate.

@@BigMTBrain war and peace is *SHORTER* . end of the day, sonible and focusrite ain't 100% with this... annoys me grately

@@fogvarious2478 Haha... good one on "war and peace". As my novel explains, the fault and fix is on Focusrite alone. EDIT: BUT, if someone ordered, received and used their Focusrite unit and software first, THEN went forward with ordered Sonible products, the fault is theirs for buying into a software suite that obviously duplicates what they already had acquired with their Focusrite unit.

this is, sorry to say, rubbish. It is not better than any of my current gates. Looks marvellous, but that doesn't help when its performance is mediocre. A shame, I wanted this to be good.
