    Thank you for the very informative video! I have the osmo pocket 3 and the image quality is very good and overall the convenience factor is off the charts. I also own a few lumix S1 cameras as well as a FS5ii. I shoot real estate professionally but I also create real estate content as a licensed realtor myself. Ive often waffled between solely using the pocket 3 for my content because it just makes things alot easier and makes it more likely I’ll shoot content of models homes and neighborhoods etc. However, the wide angle lens for it is so distorted that I have to correct the video in post a bit. I’ve thought about picking up a zv-e10 for its size and flippable screen for the exact same purpose even though it’s a bit more cumbersome to use than the pocket 3. Would you say that the pocket 3 fov with wide angle lens is as wide as that sony 11mm after the proper lens distortion corrections? Or is there a noticeable difference in width and height with that Sony 11mm? I’ve compared fov of p3 to my full frame camera with a 14mm lens and there’s a significant fov advantage of the 14mm. Wondering if p3 gets close to the fov of that sony 11mm or if you have a sigma or sony 10-18mm that it gets close to. In a nutshell, I might pickup the zve10 if I can get a significant fov increase for my real estate content videos. Your best insight is much appreciated.

      When shooting at 4k The field of view you get with the 11mm on the zv-e10 is only marginally wider than the pocket 3 once you have added the 1.5 crop of the APSC lens and also the 1.2 crop of shooting at 30fps, so it ends up at about 19.8mm. If you shoot at 24 fps there is no crop so you get an 16.5mm with the 1.5 APSC crop, but then you can’t slow the footage which is usually needed for real estate.
      If you’re happy to shoot at 1080p then you don’t get the added crop so it is a wider field of view.
      Because of the convenience of the pocket 3 and the fact you can shoot 60fps at 4k with no crop, and it also has 10bit colour over the Sony zv-e10’s 8 bit colour, I would go with the pocket 3 if choosing between these two cameras.
      I will do a comparison video in the new perhaps.
      Also, I have just purchased the Sony ZV-E1 and I have been using the 11mm paired with this cropped in to about 15.5mm as it’s an APSC lens but with the no image quality loss. It works great and a super lightweight set up with an amazing sensor! If you have the money, I’d definitely recommend getting the ZV-E1. I’ll be doing videos about this camera for real estate and also paired with 11mm in the new year.
      Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

      @@jonathanshilton Sorry I should have said that I shoot 1080p for my personal RUclips videos because I like smaller file sizes. I’ve thought of the zve1 before as well but just seems to be alot bigger of a setup especially if paired with a FF lens. But it if it’s small enough it could serve as a great cam for client work as well as taking it out for RUclips stuff. Would you say the zve1 is practically (close enough) as small as the zve10 now that you have both? I don’t mind buying either really. For my RUclips stuff I don’t need 4k or 10bit because I just don’t have the time to color correct since it’s really just side work for me outside of my client work. But if the size difference between zve1 and zve10 is discernible, then I might go that route instead. Because really my goal is small, compact, ease of use with the ability to go wider than the pocket 3.

      The ZV-E1 is a little bigger than the ZV-E10 but still smaller than cameras in the a7 series. With the 11mm APSC lens it’s pretty small, but as you say the full frame lenses would make this bigger.
      If your fine with shooting in 1080 to 60fps, then then zv-e10 would be fine paired with with the 11mm or 10-20mm lenses. Small and cheaper.
      I’ll do a video on the ZV-E1 in the nee year.

      Hi how do u correct the distortion on your pocket 3 wide lens

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@ChoyPH27 I use the distortion tool in Premiere. By the time you have got rid of the distortion, you’re nearly back at 20mm, so I tend not use the wide lens much now as it distorts too much.

    Hi😊, I have A6400, do you think I should replace it with zv-e10 for real estate video (the screen rotation advantage confuses me)

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  4 месяца назад

      If you already have the a6400, I would probably stick with that, as you also have the view finder which is handy for when shooting outside, as it can be tricky to see the screen on the zv-e10 on bright days. So I’d say having a view finder outweighs having a fully articulating screen. This is more helpful if you are filming yourself.
      They have the same sensor, so there’s going to be no difference in image quality.
      Hope that helps, and thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hello Jonathan ,thx to explain everything about ZV-E10. Between ZV-E10 AND ZV-E 1wich one you recommended , to have quality for cooking video or Real estate. like27

      I would say if you are just shooting cooking videos for RUclips, the ZV-E10 would be absolutely fine and is a lot cheaper. If you are going to be shooting real estate too, then I would say get the ZV-E1 as you need a camera that has a good dynamic range and good in low light, and this would then do you well for both cooking and real estate.
      Hope that helps. Good luck and thanks for watching and subscribing. Really appreciate it!

    Great video. Question. What do you mean by “standard color”?

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  4 месяца назад +1

      When I say "standard colour" I am refering to having no colour profile on, so it's just the colour mode that you get straight out of camera without selecting any colour profiles. I use it to shoot some of my RUclips videos when I am talking to camera and it looks fine. I hope that helps and thanks for watching and taking your time to leave a comment.

    One thing that confuses me about the specs is the 8 bit photo versus the 12 bit video color. Are they different meanings or does video really have the better color depth?

    • @jonathanshilton
      @jonathanshilton  2 месяца назад +1

      I might have misunderstood, but the video on the zv-e10 is 8 bit colour not 12 bit, so if you are shooting in slog, would would want to shoot slog 2 instead of slog 3, as the colours may fall apart a bit in slog 3 with just 8 bit colour.
      I hope that helps.
      Thanks for watching.

    What’s your settings?

      Hi, if I were to use this for property video I shoot in SLOG 2, I have zebra’s on and set at 95, gamma display assist turned on and then I shoot all my property videos at 1080p (zv e10 only does 4k up to 30 fps) 50 fps, shutter speed at 100 and adjust the f stop and the ISO accordingly, keeping as close to the base ISO 500 as possible, not going above 6400 as the image gets too noisy above this.
      FYI - I use my ZV-E1 for shooting video now as this shoots 4k with no crop at 50fps. Even shoots 4k 120.
      Hope that helps
