For behind the potting shed, against the wall, you could put your espalier pear. It looks like it would get enough sun

I have such an incredibly hard time looking at a blank space and designing it. I have to look at photos of other ppl gardens, and of course, watch what you're doing and get inspiration/copycat your amazing ☺️ layout ideas. Thank you so much. I live in Las Vegas, so get that same heat and high winds. I know if what you plant can survive it, it'll definitely make it here too.

What about a grandmothers garden surrounding the flower shed? Hollyhocks, foxglove, feverfew, forget me nots, lily of the valley, etc. it would be
So pretty. I know the wind maybe hard, but against the shed it would be lovely.

Here’s another idea for the front of the flower shed. I love the flagstones you temporarily set. If you have more of those, extend them all the way across including the pots on the corner of the shed. Like a little patio. You could then use some of those beautiful concrete planters you said you were going to take away from the front of the greenhouse and make a sweet grouping around your bistro chairs and table. A pot garden of sorts. 😊

It so good to see you loosening the edges of the planting hole in an irregular pattern for the new crabapple. The augers make light work of digging for you but in a hard pan area like yours it also polishes the sides of the digging hole which encourages the roots to grow in the same circular pattern as in the pots

Good Morning Garden Answer friends! I am in zone 5b, Traverse City, MI.. We had rain & snow mix yesterday & snow falling again this a.m. 😢 This is after hitting 80 last Saturday. The phantom spring/summer happens every year, but its so sad, once everything is stretching & trying to bloom or has already bloomed. I left leaves over my stuff, while neighbors have been busy bodies clearing. I did some raking of leaves from the lawn but really nothing more, cut some very evident dead branches off of old perennials. Laura, Seeing your green & the stone pathway of your area, with the arch...oh my lord that is a wonderful addition..I am in love!! .& your excitement Laura is contagious! I am excited for all of your space to come alive and thrive. Have a great day all. I am off to work.

I bought several perennials on clearance last fall and they all over wintered so nicely in their pots and all have put on some green growth, but I’ve put my 2 lilac bushes and a Czech Mark Trilogy weigela in my garage (they are still in their greenhouse pots also) I’m hoping everything does ok this coming week, we have poor weather scheduled all week. One warmer day but it gets cold the night of… ugh, Michigan false spring- every year! I bought my first house last October, I have a giant back yard but zero garden beds yet. That’s why I purchased all those clearance plants! I hope they make it! Have a good day at work! 😊

I was in love with the old space where you put that pondless water fall. I was sad to see it all go, but I can see your vision now and how one day this space will be lush and full too. With pretty spots when it all matures.

Dare I suggest grape hyacinths for your orchard? They multiply year by year and are such a glorious shade of dark blue. We are in the UK and in a rented property. We inherited an old garden, which has little to commend it, but I live for the grape hyacinths, daffodils and snowdrops each year. We also have an ancient greengage tree, which gives us a ton of greengages each year.

I think the mix they did in the orchard did have some muscari or grape hyacinths in it. I agree though that they are beautiful and they need more

@Moira Haarhoff ~ Hello from Arizona, USA! I am a fan of grape hyacinth, too! I recently found some (on clearance, of course😉) and planted them in my flowerbed. Therefore, no show, this year. But, I am sooooo looking forward to seeing them perform next Spring and for years to come.🥰🤗🤗

I had never heard of greengages and looked them up online. Zones 5-9, hot summer days and cool nights; sounds perfect!

Hi Laura! I appreciate you showing the orchard with the flowers that are in bloom. The arbor on the stone pathway looks good, as do the boxwoods and crabapple tree. Thank you so much for sharing!

You should have a small flagstone patio built right in front of the flower shed and a few stepping stones coming of of yhe patio into the orchard.

Love the updates. How about some espaliered fruit trees against the back of the flower shed? I’m looking forward to seeing what you plant on the gothic tunnel. It will be amazing to take a stroll thru that when it’s covered!!

Behind the garden shed an espalier underplanted with lavender would be amazing! It would be a neat little surprise to be walking in front of the shed smelling lavender and not knowing where it was coming from. A little secret garden.

I think some Purple Hyacinth Bean Vines would look so beautiful on the arbor. Its has such great foliage and the most beautiful purple flowers and the purple bean pods add such wonderful texture as well. Im hoping this season I can get an arbor and grow some viney plants 🙂

Well Laura, I have planted my first cut garden. It’s only three short rows but I have a few dahlias planted,a few iris and a few asiatic bulbs. I really planted for me and my granddaughter. She likes to make pretty arrangements in a vase. I so enjoy your videos. I’m an older lady but you have inspired me to plant that cut garden. Thanks for sharing your videos and knowledge on gardening. Pat in North Carolina
