Samsung appliances are total garbage. Our new Samsung $3k fridge went out exactly at one year old. We called Samsung and they said they would take care of it since it was so close to the warranty date. After 5 weeks of runaround, we were informed that they had no service in our area, and they would give us a refund. We said great, but after another few weeks of runaround, they told us "Some decision board" had declined the refund. We contacted a local appliance service to repair, and they said it needed a new mainboard for $1200. Our previous GE fridge made in America lasted 22 years. Samsung sucks!
Thankyouuu so much from India 01 April 2022 time 1:10pm 😊
Thanks so much for putting this video clip together. I was able to replace my Samsung fridge defrost element heater myself without calling in an expensive repair person. Great instructions and now I have a fridge that works just like the day I bought it. *****
So, the problem with this refrigerator was the heater? If the evaporator coil is leaking, you replaced the whole assembly ?
It is going to depend on what the issue is with your fridge? What is the model number of your fridge?
Great educative video. I have a Samsung side by side. Only half of my evaporator is frosting. The other half has not cooling which is affecting the cooling in the fridge section(43 degrees). The freezer section on the other hand works fine. What could be the cause? Thanks.
Sealed system leak
And if I found leakage in any evaporator can I seal with any 💯% sealing solution on copper or aluminium so no need of Weilding which solution is good pls reply 😊
You should always wear gloves during all repairs, especially this one!
Yes absolutely wear gloves.
Sir if internal body conceal condenser and Sun condenser is leak can I fix external condenser and what effects will come and how much condenser required in meter or feet for SUB Condenser and conceal condenser pls answer 😊
This is a heater replacement, thought it was evaporator replacement, which is a different story :)
Samsung RS263TDPN refrigerator, Freezer wont cool, fridge side is working, no frost formation on freezer or fridge coils. Sir what do you think the problem is?

Dear fitter,
Thank you for a knowledgeable video.
I noticed when you were refitting the fridge heater element, the defrost heater temp. sensor, the foam sensor part needs to sit behind the evaporator coils (as I have seen in many other vids) instead of behind the heating element (bottom right hand side) otherwise it will pick up the temperature too early & cut out at 80 degrees risking partial defrost of the evaporator fins.
Why do you take it all apart and not just replace the entire assembly...?
@sakle This is very interesting. In this discussion someone asked if it is necessary to top up the gas after such an exchange. The answer was that there was no gas there. Can anyone explain us exactly why you need to buy the whole part for $ 100 and use only a tiny part of what we bought for this repair? For what we can not install the entire purchased part.
Awesome awesome awesome video! Is there a video on testing the defrost heater like that one? Can we test for continuity in the wire harness and if it’s working it is continuous?
Unfortunately, we do not have a video for that yet. You can test the harness for continuity with a multimeter. You can test the defrost heater for resistance. You will need to locate the tech sheet on your unit to see what the resistance reading should be, it's usually around 35 ohms, but check your tech sheet to make sure.
@@appliancepartspros thank you!!!!!
You're welcome!
Çok teşekkür ederim çok güzel anlatıyor sun eline sağlık
Excellent man. Good job. Romualdo from BRASIL
Grazie! Sei stato bravo a spiegare
¡De nada!
This part is available for sale?
Part number DA96-00020Q is no longer manufactured and there is not a replacement for it. You can take that part number and check around to see if anyone still has some stock left.
Good👍
Awesome.
Very useful.
Thank you
Fantastic
Uo
great video . i think it would be better next time to drill out 1/8 pop rivet holding bottom drain heater tray and replace with new pan, that way you dont have to fool around bending heater hold down clamps. but other than that great video. i was a commercial refrigeration serviceman for .hussmann for almost 32 years great job
Henry - I have a rusted tray and need to replace the tray only but can't find that p/n, any help on that would be appreciated
Looks like the same fridge I have except Stainless.
Do you know the exact part# for just the Defrost Heater by itself?
I have had problems with my Samsung RS267lash Fridge over
freezing and causing inside middle vent hole and fan to eventually freeze to
point of no airflow , then fan grinding eventually to a halt from being frozen.
When I force the fridge into defrost mode, it does not seem
to melt the ice either.
*Theoretically, if I force it into Defrost mode, the heating
elements should come on and should be able to test 110V Correct?
Don’t think it’s a bad Defrost heating element , last time I checked this it showed 96 ohmsDefrost sensor (yellow) was +- 2K at Room temperature.
Thermal fuse (Red black /w white foam) = 0 ohms
Not sure what to do now.
The defrost heater on this particular model number was only sold with the complete evaporator assembly. I don't have all the specs here you can post this in the repair forum and they can help you out! forum.appliancepartspros.com/
It's thermostat that is the problem
I really can’t thank you enough for this video as there are so many heaters and I could not figure out what to do. My only question is...how do I know what went bad, the heater or the sensor?
Failed to mention details: Fridge is the Samsung RS2544SL and it was not getting cold enough. I opened it up and the entire evaporator was iced over. I defrosted it with a hair drier and also removed the water from the rear pan. Trying to figure out what part I need now,; the sensor, the heater and sensor, the thermal fuse?
Need to put it on force defrost and check if the heating element gets hot
Thank you sir
Very nice
Hi - is it possible to replace the entire unit - would a professional be needed to re-gas the fridge after?
You would need to hire a service technician in order to remove and replace the evaporator coil, unless you are EPA certified to work on sealed systems.
i would have just changed out the whole evap
That's always an option too.
When we need to change the whole evap
Great idea! I’ve found a defrost heater replacement for this, but it is only available in UK voltages. If replacing the sensors doesn’t work, I’ll be giving this a try!
I don't think voltage would make much difference for a heating element. I once had a Whirlpool/Hoover clothes dryer that ran on 120 V. It had the same heating element as a 240 V model. With 125 V, I think it would just draw a higher current or take longer.
sir ji iss frigde ki under ground paiping k bara m btaya
Hi I'm looking for the defrost heater like that model without evaporator
Wouldn't it be easier to just change the evaporator unit completely?
I had an appliance man solder one on, but he got the thing red hot... I don't think that was good. Got any ideas. The fridge doesn't work.

Thank-you. this must be my problem. Now I understand I have to buy the complete unit to replace the heater In the fridge. Many more thanks.
Glad we could help you out with your repair!
After installation again we need to fill gas....?
These are just evaporator coils, there's no need to fill any kind of gas as a part of this repair.
this model different
Hi, very nice vtutorial!
could it be possible that the problem i have is just a defective defrost sensor? how do i test this sensor to know if it is defective or not before i replace the difficult defrost heater. the thermal fuse, if defective what is the symtom? thanks.
Without knowing what you have, I would suggest posting the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem. forum.appliancepartspros.com/
