- Diamonds In The Rough was originally released on CD in 2008 as part of the DVD+CD release “Live in the LBC/Diamonds in the Rough”. It is a compilation of b-sides recorded during the making of the band’s self-titled 2007 debut, rarities, covers and other non-album tracks. The 2020 vinyl and digital release of the album has been remastered and is expanded by 5 tracks, featuring the unreleased track “Set Me Free” (recorded during the “Hail To The King” sessions). It also includes other hard-to-find tracks such as the fan-favorite “St, James”, “4AM” and “Lost It All”. The 16 track album also includes the band’s cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”, which originally came out in 2009 on the Warner Bros album “Covered”. The vinyl is released on limited edition clear vinyl.

Boy, I was so young when this came out. I'd really like to make sure that this band knows how much good they've made in my life.
Y'all can hop into the avenged sevenfold subreddit, r/avengedsevenfold, Matt himself goes there frequently these days to answer some fan questions! Last he did it was a week or so ago if I remember correctly, it's pretty surreal. I personally haven't had a chance to "talk" to him since he only answers questions for about an hour and I always arrive there too late, but it's cool to know that M regularly browses reddit and actually sees the posts of the superfans there. He sometimes even comments on some random posts and discussions, it's pretty fun!

Fun fact: this songs inspiration was when Zacky was driving home listening to the nightmare album, and felt alone without Jimmy. The time was 4:00 A.M. So he decided to make a song about this feeling. Also the line "Just one more chance to die" was made by Jimmy. The songs idea was from Zacky which is his currently his only song he wrote
Yes! I was looking for this comment. I read somewhere that jimmy came up with the line “its 4 am, got one more chance to die” but i wasnt sure. I didnt know that line made it into a song until now. Although its some dark shit still feels good to run into the things related to Jimmy. Forever missing him.

When Diamonds in the rough live at lbc came, I just fell in love with this song. This was many many years my all time favourite and like 8 years my phone's ringtone. Then I changed ringtone to Afterlife and kinda forget that this song even existed. But oh I am so happy that this album was released again (and with new song! Set me free is SO freaking great)!

None of these songs are new you can tell all of the drumming tracks are from the rev, arin, and Mike portnoy. And Matt's Voice is different
