- I´ve improved my diy heavy bag stand, here´s how.
Heavy bag workouts (e. g. with additional rope skipping) are great for overall fitness, and they are fun too.
Such a mobile outdoor-stand shines at two aspects, first it is unbeatable silent. There is simply no structure-bound sound in your house at all. Although there are some commercial vibration absorbers out there for wall-/ceiling bag mounts, they only reduce a small fraction of the total structure-bound sound imo. And second, this setup allows, no, invites you to move 360-degree around the bag while exercising, without having to worry about stumbling over base plates, supports and so on. That really matters: Watch good heavy bag instruction videos, all agree that a good boxing bag workout requires you to keep moving around the bag.
You can even practice if it´s cold, dark or windy outside. However, when the ground got wet outside, it´s over, because you need a secure stance to practice.
As one piece, the stand would be obviously way too cumbersome to handle, but because of it´s separation in two parts, it can easily be stored in a corner on the terrace.
My punching bag is on the lighter side, because I want to emphasize footwork, permanent distance changes, hand-eye-coordination, timing. And it spares your joints, wrists and fingers as against to really heavy ones. Развлечения
Appreciate this looking forward to making my own! Also awesome technique, you move better than some guys I know at my gym
Great set up, great work.. you can't beat good solid fundamentals 👊
Super impressed by some actual clean boxing here
Thank you, Sir ;-)
thanks for posting
Sharp looking boxing my friend. I want to say you like Arturo Gatti haha
Oh, thanks. And thanks for the hint to Gatti, I havn´t seen that boxer. Till now.
Great video! Are the boards 5cm thick or 10 cm thick? I am wondering if they will support a bag up to 68kg.
Could you list the materials?
Double up on the jab.
Whats the total lengths for the 4x4s?
In fact I had to grab a tape measure and go outside to check it (I forgot the dimensions): The upper part is 240cm, the lower part 150cm. The longer part just fits in the corner of my terrace, behind a garden cabinet. 390cm sounds pretty tall, perhaps. But I like the more "natural" movement of the bag. And for the double end bag its better too.
