I cannot imagine how these wretched people exist. The only thing that I can assume is that they are cowardly people who are not allowed to speak their opinions in their day to day real life. It's so easy to voice negative nasty opinions when no one is capable of speaking back to them and putting them and putting them in their place. I suspect they are jealous of your beauty.

I can't recommend enough having an inexpensive wig to practice alterations on. I bought a $40 wig and use it to practice using thinning shears, adding rooting, cutting side-swept bangs, cutting long layers, tweezing the part, thinning knots on the lace front, using a steamer, and more. If I screw it up, so what? I buy another $40 wig and keep on practicing! You can also buy second-hand wigs for this same purpose. This has given me much more confidence about altering my more costly wigs. It's no-pressure and really fun!

I have now purchased 2 lace front wigs. The Belle Tress Dalgona and the Caliente in Champagne with Apple pie………I love them…… you gave me the courage to just start wearing them. I have close friends who havent been able to tell even after I told them its a wig!
On your suggestion I ordered the roll on liquid “It stays”. I live in Alaska and believe it or not in the summer we get into the 80’s and higher. I also sweat easily. So the glue will fail after I’ve gotten too warm and start to have forehead perspiration. Ok so a brilliant idea struck me…… put some of my gel antiperspirant on my forehead! Then when dry I place the roll on glue so far so good!

    Great Tips Taz!
Would like to share my tips to help someone as well.
Two great ways to lighten or darken roots and or crown areas.
The powder Root Cover up in blonde to soften roots. More lasting is Loreal Magic Root Cover UP ..comes in a spray with needle point precision. Using the Light Blonde shade will work beautifully for highlights or Dark Blonde to Brown for low lights. Spray with placing a sheet of paper to block off area you wish not to color. Using a rat tail comb ..pull out the strands you want to spray. As you get good at this method free hand spraying without paper guard can be done. Remember it will wash off with shampoo or just water not to fear messing up the wig. This has really brought my wig to a more natural looking ware.

    This was great!!
    I loved your ’Ideal’ lace front/mono part!!👐
Although your so right about no such thing as utopia LOL,😆
Im still urked about manufactures charging more for lace fronts and especially mono parts and not delivering on our expectations😒
Simply don’t sell them as mono parts and charge so much more. This dishonest in my opinion. I feel they know better, I mean how hard could in be to space out the part line??😳
Also may I suggest buying non rooted colors and adding them in yourself? This I have done and then your not stuck with look of knotting and that god awful dark rooting on paler skin around the face. That to me is a dead giveaway to have a perfect dark line around the perimeter.
And I agree with the person who said they hope the wig makers are tuning in to your channel and take some pointers🤞 Thx so much Taz🫶

All great ideas, Taz. The only problem I ever seem to have is with the lace front "line" being visible. I have a couple of my favorite Renau wigs that have this problem. I have used foundation along the line to disguise it. Typically, I couldn't pink the lace front because it is already trimmed so close to the knots, and Renau uses such a fine lace, I would hate to ruin it. I had not thought of cutting and pasting baby hairs -- done properly that probably makes the wig look very realistic. I am going to select the perfect candidate and experiment, lol. xoxo

A word on Ellen Wille - Ellen Wille lace fronts are hit and miss.. when they are on, they're ON, but I have seen some that are thickly knotted and many instances where the lace does not lay flat against the head.. the caps can have some strange shapes at times that create gaps in the lace. XOXO

The ones I've had are really good, but I've only owned 2 of the lace front pieces and 1 that had no lace front. What I don't care for are the mini-lace fronts they came out with..what the heck was up with that? LOL

I so agree with you on Ellen Wille. I've had quite a few of her wigs and most are wonderful but some are really bad. One I sent right back without even trying it on, the lace front was dreadful. Sparse and evenly spaced with terrible knots. Belle Madame is almost always perfect.

I got the RW Editors Pick in average, it's my 2nd one but I think the lace front might have been an error on the manufacturer. I didn't send it back & kept it. Then when I put it on it was sticking straight up! I've taken it in as far as it will go & it's still to big. It was my fault. I should have tried it on when I first got it but being that it was my second one I wasn't even thinking. I ordered some It Stays that you recommended in another video. Hopefully I can try that. I've not been able to wear the wig yet. I'm just crushed that I put all that money into the wig & it's so wrong. Valuable lesson learned though so for EVERYONE!! CHECK YOUR WIG FIT AS SOON AS YOU GET IT & BE PREPARED FOR IT TO BE DIFFERENT!!

Not necessarily a tutorial but maybe just telling us about the foundation you wear and the way you apply your eye makeup... I can't tell if you use anything on the lower lash line or not and I would love to know what lashes you are wearing. Oh....and also lipstick and blush. I am lucky enough to have enough hair around the sides and back to pull out of the wig and blend in with the rest of my wig. I have a rather large head and have a hard time finding a wig that doesn't fit me like a baseball cap as it is, so this helps a lot. I wish the wig makers would make the caps stretchier. I've had one wig that I was able to actually feel comfortable in that was human hair, which is all I buy now. I am so very careful with them and have had them last up to two years, so well worth the money. My most favorite, natural looking wig I've ever had and am wearing now is the Nicole by Estetica. It doesn't fit as well as I would like, but with a wig grip, and being able to have my own hair incorporated into the wig, it's almost undectable. This is the first time I've EVER had a wig that I was completely confident that nobody was looking at the top of my head. You can tell when someone is noticing that you're wearing a wig and when they are completely oblivious to it. I wish all of us who are forced to wear a wig for confidence, the absolute best in finding that one wig like I finally have after years of searching. We deserve to feel beautiful!

    • @TAZSWIGCLOSET
      @TAZSWIGCLOSET  4 года назад

Hello! I do not know of a way to soften a scratchy lace front.. each lace front is made from a monofilament/lace material and depending on the thickness, grid size, etc, you can get a stiff or scratchy lace front. I would avoid using softeners or conditioners directly on the lace front.. it will not help soften the material, but it may actual loosen the knots. XOXO

  • @rootsrocksfeathers1975

I'll offer my take on some of the brands. I think the best so far are Tony of Beverly, BUT there is that issue of them rarely ever being on sale. RW, Gabor, Estetica, Henry Margu are all great as well. Not a fan of Belle Tress, but if they had unrooted colors in blondes, maybe they'd be better. We do have a lot of good choices in lace fronts, don't we? TressAllure's line of former Gemtress French lace fronts are soft (too soft, very fragile, but very comfy), but do not extend far enough. Their other ones are so-so, IMO, but acceptable. I think Jon Renau has definitely improved their knots, but on occasion, they will fray too easily, not sure what's up with that. Some are like iron in their durability, some just seem to fray at the drop of a hat, and I'm very careful with them. When I pluck, I now do it from the underside, seems to work a little better, just get hold of the knot itself with sharp tweezers and pull out the backside. Thanks, great video again, Taz! Have a good weekend! Still waiting on my SUWAT to arrive...~Cyn

Great comment!! I find that Belletress is starting to use lighter, finer knots blended in up feont like many of the RW and Gabor pieces do. (Ex: Rose Ella and Lemonade in Butterbeer blonde). Perhaps some hope that the manufacturers and designers are listening? Fingers crossed!🤞🏻 Don't you just wish that Jon Renau would get it together on their lace fronts? Hmmmmm

I just received my estetica ocean wig. It’s very nice but I have a darker olive skin. Because of this, the lace is slightly lighter than my skin tone - which causes a slightly lighter line across my forehead upon closer look. Should I be cutting that closer to the hairline of the wig to reduce that line? My wife thinks I look like a rockstar with it on but I’m not brave enough yet to leave the house until I can fix this issue. Right now I might feel good about this with a bandana on but as a man, there is a whole new level of realism I have to have before I can personally leave the house. It’s great fun to try on in the house though!

@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thanks for the tip! I went out today for the first time - using a bandana - and it was soooo scary but so cool at the same time. Bought my first pick comb in twenty years and someone said, “Hey Bro, cool hair. Are you in a band?” - Passing the “bro” test gave me a good indication I was fooling most people. Some men unfortunately could not carry this off but it works for me because of my pretty boy rockstar looks so yea, this was the first day I felt like my glory days in my twenties and early thirties.

Great tips, Taz! I really needed this. Sometimes I’ll trim some baby hair then gel them down using a tooth brush. I’ll do the same with my sparse bio hair when not wearing a wig or topper.

Quick question...on this video as I am watching on left side second row at the end....is that a lavender/purple wig? What brand, style and color? Thanks for another great video!!!

Hi Lisa! This is Jon Renau January in the color Flurry (plum and silver mix).. the color looks more intense than actual due to my camera adjusting to light in back of room. This video may help! ruclips.net/video/wHWNYLMC400/видео.html

    Hi Taz,
Love & blessings from Great Britain. Why oh why, don't you set up your own on line wig company? Your wig knowledge is second to none. I just know that if you did, you'd be inundated with customers. I for one, would be a returning customer & would go nowhere else, cos I trust your knowledge & integrity. As a wig wearer yourself, you'd know exactly what we'd like & need. Please do consider this. I think you're brilliant & so approachable.

Thanky you so much for the kind and thoughful comments:-) There is a lot more involved in creating a wig line that one thinks..lol. VERY VERY expensive! But, that would be a dream! XOXO

Use Got2b glue gel and spray from Schwarzkopf that solves all your problems

I personally like the Ellen Wille lace fronts, IF they are one of the more extensive ones, though I don't care for their fibers (not a popular opinion, I think). I've had United and Elite and felt they were fabulous lace fronts.

I have not yet felt a ‘lace front ‘ that doesn’t feel like chicken wire on the forehead. I have just bought a gorgeous expensive wig I really hoped would be soft and lace like - but scratchy and sore as always. Please help someone. From the UK

Maybe condition the lace. I've never had that problem, even with cheap wigs.....
