I couldn't edit my last message for some reason, but had to add that I wore one of my wigs out for the first time on a visit to the Dr. the other day. The nurse immediately complimented my hair! I thanked her and then told her it was a wig. She couldn't believe it and then admitted that she too had thinning hair, but had been afraid to try a wig. She then added that I was "really rocking it!" I have you to thank!! So a huge "thank you" !!!!
Thanks Melissa. Now when I get those questions, I can send a link to this video..lol. Somehow, many viewers still think I spend hours and use tons of product to get my wigs to look good.. nothing is further from the truth! Hugs! XOXO
Taz, could you do more of these kind of videos? I need to take my wig from “Gramma” to “girlfriend” I think watching from box to fixing it and seeing your trial and error would be so helpful to me.
Hehe..Thanks Lisa! Based on the comments I normally get, ladies think I have a huge secret or that I am working on a wig for hours and using product behind the scenes.. that saddens me because it really only takes a few simple things to bring a wig to life! Hugs! XOXO
Thank you!! LOL.. If I am out and my wig just needs a freshening, I will go into a restroom, take my wig off and shake it out aggressively, reapply and strut out with a smile..lol! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Billie! I was the same way years ago.. then I saw Pattie from Pattie's Pearls whipping her wigs around and they turned out fabulous and natural! It inspired me! XOXO
This is great info..some wig reviews are sadly so disappointing. RW wigs for me are so hard to figure out, as they seem to be so over styled in her..glad you used one of those! Fortunately, after 10 yrs of wig wearing and watching YOU, Pattie, ( and her 'shake the tar out of it'), and Jill Lynne, I can look at a wig and compare the measurements to my own-to figure out if it has 'potential' for me. Sometimes I make mistakes, but can usually dive in and make it work, after I think on it a while. Your info is GREAT!! Thank you for sharing! 💗
What an excellent and much needed review. I was a hairstylist back in the day and worked with wigs as well. Your perception, tricks and experience is spot on. I’ve seen women with wigs on that look plastered to their heads and I want to always say, please let me show you how to make the best of that gorgeous wig. As always Taz…thanks for sharing your expertise on wig wearing.
It took me 4 tries! My main issues are length because I didn’t realize my face is very petite and they just looked crazy! I literally would bust out laughing! I had to go shorter and use clips to hold the some of the side hair back and little by little I got used to all that hair. Don’t give up, you will love the results when you find “yours”!
It always had a knack for hair. When I was younger I wanted to be a stylist. Through the years people have said “oh I love your hair!” Whenever I tell them what products or tools I use they say “I don’t want to do all that” 🤣 I think it’s similar with wigs. Your simple tips have helped me to adjust to wigs and get my fluff on. lol. My biggest wig problem child is Arista. No matter what I do the front looks like a stringy mess but I’m not giving up! I will conquer her 💪. I hope you and your family are well, Taz 😘
So true Sharon! Thanks so much for the comments! I am VERY impatient. I don't have time to alter wigs, use product and all that.. if I can't make it look good using simple and quick techniques I give up on it...lol. Stay well and happy! XOXO
I too have Arista. It was the first wig I found that had a gorgeous color for me (sumptuous strawberry). But I CANNOT get that front to stop being stringy either. I’ve tried crisscrossing strands, lightly backcombing, and in desperation went to product and steam, but to no avail. I always have one or two chunky strands falling in my face. So it sits on a shelf staring at me. Hopefully someday there will be a fix!
So helpful! You're so right on the wig photos...they look anything but natural...too shiny and almost greasy for lack of the right word. Thank you, TAZ ❤
Great tips Taz!! As a fairly new wig wearer, I learned to lightly finger flip the strands from you! I do it all the time and it absolutely does make the wig look realistic!! Love your videos!! 💕
Hi Taz- thank you for this video. Do you shake, shake, shake long wigs too? Could you possibly tell me the name of the wig behind you that’s labeled “K”? I would truly appreciate it.
Hi there! Yes, I do the same to long wigs. I don't whip them in circles as if to cause tangling, but shaking them while upside down really does wonders for all wigs! K is Ellen Wille Lola More in Sandy Blonde Rooted. Here's the review:-) ruclips.net/video/DwGRT2CO5q4/видео.html
So it was YOU!!..lol! Trust me, my inbox is full of those questions..lol. Yet some people just refuse to believe that this is it.. simple stuff! Hugs! XOXO
SO beautiful in all of your wigs, and your reviews and tips are always helpful! I really want to know what brand that SWEATER is your are wearing in this video though! I absolutely love it! : >
Hi Phay! There is nothing that beats the look and feel of a brand new heat friendly wig right out of the box.. the fibers feel luxurious and it moves so nicely. They require some special TLC, but I love heat friendly fibers! My favorite heat friendly fiber is Belle Tress, then Raquel Welch. XOXO
Thanks so much, Taz! This video is very helpful and one that answers the question for many. I like to shake mine as well and never add product or steam prior to reviewing. It's just not helpful to anyone. I'm posting it on our FB page; some seem to think that our wigs are pre-styled so that we can review them. LOL, wouldn't that be nice? They didn't realize our wigs come from the manufacturers just like everyone else! XOXO
Hi Mar!! Thanks for adding this information! YES - wouldn't it be nice if wigs came already pre-styled for our tastes and preferences..lol! It cracks me up when I get comments like that. I wish they would believe me when I assure them that my wigs come to me fresh in the box, unstyled, like everyone else! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Taz. Have been watching you for a long time, but have yet to get my first wig You’re the BEST! Could you tell me names of wigs J and H please. Maybe I’m getting close to a decision
Excellent tips... shake, shake and shake some more. Shaking makes a world of difference. Like you, i like my hair fluffy and unstyled looking and i love a little permatease for shape. I need to go play with my wigs!
Hi Moni! I do this to my wigs, get them all wispy and pretty, but then we don't go anywhere for me to where them out..lol. But its fun to try them all on at home too! Hugs! XOXO
Very helpful. Amazing what a little shaking & combing can do. I'm new to this and really see how it's pretty much the luck of the draw on wigs...same styles can look very different out the box. They can react very differently with wave direction, strands that don't want to do anything but lay flat on your face (bangs). I'm thinking in my journey I will probably be returning wigs that have an odd wave pattern since those are pretty much permanent on a synthetic, non-heat friendly wig. Also, imo, women with an average-petite head circumference make great wig models as evidenced w/Taz. Smaller head sizes, 21.5 - 22 can wear virtually any wig and look great. I'm learning that with a 23" circumference it's not going to be so easy finding attractive wigs.
I love the idea of regarding your face and the wig as a blank canvas... so artistic! Also a great way of thinking of the wig and making it your "own." What is the wig B behind you, please?
I've seen you show somewhat similar tips before and I use them daily. Makes a huge difference! My question is: How do you get your new Going Places to look as good as the PS blonde one you had on in the opening? I returned my Going Places immediately bc I had no idea how to "organize" the wave pattern to look sane. So I guess the questions is: THEN what?? Thanks so much!!
Hi my friend! I just continued to fluff and separate each layer. As I fluff, I scrunch it up one layer at a time. The RW heat friendly fiber seems to respond very well to this type of manipulation. The more I mess with it (pick and fluff) the better it looks! STILL.. the 2 Going Places look very different. The latter one doesn't have nearly the curl..:-( We have to work with what we have, right? Hope this helps! Wouldn't it be great if we could all meet up once a week and work on our wigs!..lol Hugs! XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET thanks, Taz!! And yes, that would be a total blast!! Kind of like a wig version of a quilting circle!! Gab fest and coffee get-together - with wigs!! Hugs! Stay warm with this crazy weather! Xoxo.
I love it when I see your photo's of the wig on simply wigs! I'm a plus size girl so I still usually have to go see if I can find a plus size gal wearing the style. But I always look for your review first!
Hi Taz great presentation. I can tell the difference from the before and after. Awesome job, so helpful. Thank you so much for always taking the time and sharing. Have a wonderful day Taz! 🥰
Yeah, you always look so good!! I'll look up the same wig and it looks radically different on other youtubers. These are very simple and easy tips, too!! Thank you!!❤
This video was perfect Taz! Thank you for showing us how you bring them to life. I always say “customization is the key to realism”!!! You look fantastic!!!❤️❤️💋XoXo
Thank you so much Taz for sharing this “how to” video. I really love your hairstyles. I’m hoping that you will do more instructional videos in the future. I would like to see you completing that great look with the products you use. All of your wigs look so beautiful on you. ❤️
Hi there Susan! Thanks for the feedback! I am not a fan of products in my wigs.. products attract dirt and requires more frequent washings which decreases the life of the wig, so I reserve products for very occasional use or product demo:-) XOXO
Thank you Taz. You have helped me so much along my wig journey. You have been an inspiration, and my " you tube friend"! Blessings to you. Stay safe and well.
Fellow viewers: If you want to get to the meat of the video, skip to 6:40. Taz: you're one of my 2 favorite reviewers! Especially love how you STYLE the wigs.
Very helpful! I have a question about how to “style” or change the front of the hair on a wig. I just got my first wig, the Arrow by Ellen Wille. I really love it! The only thing is that the font of the hair seems to really fall forward and cover my face and I’m not sure how to keep it out of my face. I keep trying to brush the front/top up and away but it just falls forward. I did thin it out a little bit after watching one of your other videos. Was just wondering if the best thing to do is use some products on it, or would washing it make a difference?
Washing it may give the hair a bit more "body" so that your manipulation away from the face will hold better.. Products may help, but you may actually need to steam it away from the face if it comes down to nothing else working. Arrow has a long front (14"), so the weight of it may keep it flopping in the face unless you use clips or steam it back:-) Hope this helps! XOXO
Thank you for these tips! I've done the shaking, but the backcombing you did and the finger lifting section by section really made a difference, so I will try that, too!!! Hugs, Shelly
Thank you Taz! These are very helpful tips. I knew about shaking the wig and undoing the zig zag part, but not your other tips. I'm going to do these with my new wig today.
Tax, you are such a great and inspiring person, especially for what we are all going through. I love your videos they are very informative and your such a beautiful person as well. I was also curious of which pieces are A and K if you don’t mind? And thank you for all you videos💜💜
Hi Taz! I love your reviews. Have you discussed what products you use and how you secure your wigs lace front and classic cap? Would love to hear from you on this. Thank you.
I use Jon Renau shampoo and conditioner. But other than that, I am not a fan of products in my hair as it makes me have to wash it more frequently. I enjoy the Estetica Sea Salt Spray occasionally to create some nice texture in a wavy wig. You may like this video for securing wigs ruclips.net/video/Eu4XwLWGdd0/видео.html XOXO
Hey Taz thnx for sharing this. Question... can I do that same fluffing the root fibers on a long or mid long wig? I strictly wear the longer girls✨️✌️😍
Hello! A is Raquel Welch Big Time in SS Biscuit.. I featured it in my Vegas Wigs video if you're interested:-) ruclips.net/video/a6UzY96dtR4/видео.html
This is so true! For instance Ellen Wille Movie on their site looks nothing like it looks coming out of the box and watching your RUclips review convinced me to get it. It’s a gorgeous wig, now discontinued. I’ve got three, the last I ordered came so much curlier than the other two! But I love it since that might allow more time before it starts to lose its glory! You have no idea how often I think about how I wish I had started my wig journey ten years ago.
Love your advice!! Once I started wearing wigs regularly, making it 'my own' was the part I didn't get at first. I was so disappointed that some wigs I got were nothing like the photos and reviews. I would put them away and not give them a chance, til I took your advice. Like a painting, (I'm a portrait artist), some wigs are a work in progress and just need some love and a little tweaking. Kinda like getting a new puppy.
And another thing...I'm concluding that fully hand tied wigs are the overall best way to go. Living in SoCal near the beach, we have those glorious breeze/windy days and I'd like a wig that can take the breezes or wind nicely without wefts showing! Thx Taz. Now I'm going to your wigs in the wind video!
Thank you Debera! F is Raquel Welch Straight Up With A Twist in RL16/88, H is Belle Tress City Roast in Cream Soda Blonde, G is Sweet Talk Luxury in GL14-22SS, and J is Belle Madame Kira Mono SF+ in Blond Grey Root. XOXO
Hi Taz, you’re a true wig wearing inspiration ! I went from depressed to need a wig after Covid and 6 or so months later enjoying the process with confidence. That is through you and your reviews and helpful styling tips. I now wish in my various world travels I had wigs for getting ready every night for dinner etc…by having a wig by choice not need. Boy the ease and time saving and better hair would have been a blessing. We no better we do better, right? My sweet 2.5 yo grandson thinks ladies take their “hats” off in the house. He has a nanny that wears wigs too…so when I’m visiting them he says “ Mimi no hat or runs in my room and says MImi wear this hat. “ poor kid is going to think ladies take their hair off at home, lol. Wouldn’t you know he has amazing beautiful hair that a toddler girl should have…go figure, lol. Anyway, I really must give you credit for my exploration and confidence wearing a wig, and not being afraid to play, cut, thin and style them…it’s made a world of difference. It’s strange needing a at this wig stage considering I was a Breck girl in the early 70’s, back in the day, and was a model for many hair product companies with long curly thick hair…now wigs are necessary. I look at the silver lining as I’m grateful wigs have progressed so far and are so fabulous now. I didn’t feel that way day one and was afraid to try them on…now I would like to explore how to become a reviewer. No one I’ve ever seen looks like you in any wigs with your beauty and confidence…it’s an inspiration of the best kind so thank you. Now to my problems…I don’t know how to solve…what do you wear under yours to properly secure? I ordered the adhesive rollerball, the recommended tape both I just received. I have head bands that ride up the back of my nape, I use Got 2B glue, and sewed in some pressure clips at nape at sides above ear tabs. They still expose my side hair and ride up a bit…don’t come off…just I can feel them ride up and I don’t like it or know if it’s normal for everyone? I even buzzed my hair to 1/2” at the end of October…wow shocking for never having short hair in 66years but very freeing. Any tips would be so greatly appreciated. Your beautiful, lovely and real…thanks again. 💖💖💖
Hi Taz, your videos are so different, so informative, and this one is no different 👌🏻 My wigs never seem to look as natural as yours or Nisha’s do. They do get matted quite quickly too. I’ve noticed, especially on belle tress Caliente, that the left mono part is more zigzaggy which isn’t natural looking. Not sure why they make them like this. It isn’t as bad messing around with full mono wigs. Any tips to make it straight without the weft showing please? What’s the wig with the letter ‘H’ behind you please? 🙏 x
Hi Nicki!! Thanks so much for the comments! When I get a weaved part that is apparent and impossible to straighten, I don't even try..lol. I end up messing it up the best I can so it doesn't look like a "fake" zig zag part..lol. I agree... I cannot see a reason to do parts like that! H is Belle Tress City Roast in Cream Soda Blonde. Hugs! XOXO
TAZSWIGCLOSET okay Taz, Thanks. I’ll try messing it up abit but it’s not as easy with just a left part. Thanks for letting me know which the H wig is 👌🏻 Stay safe ❤️
Hi Taz! I hope you get this comment and can reply! I’m dying to know what the wig and color is of the one labeled “B” over your right shoulder (left side of screen). It looks like how my hair used to be! I love your videos, thank you so much!!!
Taz, I’m confused- when working with a curly wig, won’t all that combining pull half the curl out? Also, if you’re ONLY combing they the roots to fluff, HOW can we get the bottom half of the wig to MATCH that fluffiness without undoing the curl?? Shaking it isn’t often enough to remove that stringy/ clumpiness to it.
I have good experience with these methods on all types of textures.. I comb just the root and finger fluff the other areas as shown.. I lift each layer and "pick & fluff" them individually. If you've worn the wig and its stringy you may need more intervention like gentle brushing or combing those areas:-) Hope this helps! XOXO
Great video. Thanks for the helpful tips, they have really helped. If you wouldn't mind sharing the name & color of the wig style behind you thats labeled 'P'. Thank you!
Do you have videos on home to wash your wigs and how offten do you wash. I get alot of knotting at the nap of the neck. I have heat friendly and human hair and just purchased a blend of human and heat friendly still knots at the nape of tbe neck.
💜💛🧡💚 💖 Taz can you show us what you did to achieve the look on the blonde shade in the beginning of your video? It looks absolutely amazing❣ #thankyou #appreciateyou
My new wig looks aweful after wearing it for two weeks. The ends look ratty. I’m looking here for a video about how to freshen it up without washing it. I made the mistake of spraying the ends lightly with the seasalt spray and it left it sort of like sticky on the ends. Do you have a video about how to freshen a wig up after daily wear? I have the Belletress Caliente. Thank you!
Hi Taz, I really enjoy your videos! Thank you for posting them. Can you please recommend a wig similar to Alessandra by John Renau that has little to no perma? Ya know, the stuff that makes it so full and puffy. I have Alessandra in 12 fs 12 and I love it. I bought Zara petite online but it has way to much perma? IDK what its called. I have to wear this one with a hat😊😊
Hi there! Yes, I do these simple things as often as I think it needs it..lol. I've been known to go to the restroom to shake out my wig and reapply if I am out and about and it think it needs it:-) XOXO
I have alopecia and had lost all my hair so wigs are a must. I just do t like wearing them😢 due to the knotting at the nape any suggestions would be appreciated
Friction is causing the knotting/matting at the nape. Short wigs will not have this issue. You may also want to wear the wigs in an updo to bring it off the neck and shoulders. Be sure to detangle the wig after each wear XOXO
Taz, thank you so much! Nothing like getting a new wig and putting it on and having your heart sink because it looks like a helmet 🤦🏻♀️ Your simple styling tips are a great help in making what I thought was a waste of money into something I can grab every day and put on without any fuss!
Xoxo.
@@sheilakeilty843 I was thinking the same thing! Instead of quilts in our laps, we would have our wigs! 😘😘😘
I love it when I see your photo's of the wig on simply wigs! I'm a plus size girl so I still usually have to go see if I can find a plus size gal wearing the style. But I always look for your review first!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it very much! XOXO
Very helpful. I'm going to shake it up! Thanks!

Hi Taz great presentation. I can tell the difference from the before and after. Awesome job, so helpful. Thank you so much for always taking the time and sharing. Have a wonderful day Taz! 🥰
Thank you for the kind feedback! 🤗🤗🤗
Yeah, you always look so good!! I'll look up the same wig and it looks radically different on other youtubers. These are very simple and easy tips, too!! Thank you!!❤
You are the best Taz, and just a beautiful human being inside and out!💕
Thanks much my friend:-) 🤗😘🥰
This video was perfect Taz! Thank you for showing us how you bring them to life. I always say “customization is the key to realism”!!! You look fantastic!!!❤️❤️💋XoXo
Thank you so much Michael! Even high end custom wig makers will comb and flounce the wigs before the final placement for the client. 🥰💝🤗

THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH TAZ!! This was very helpful and I am totally grateful for you taking the time to do this for us! You are THE BEST!! xx
Thanks so much Sheila!! It really is an honor to be a part of your wig journey! XOXO
Thanks so much Patricia. It's an honor to be a part of your wig journey! Hugs and blessings XOXO

Coole Styling Tips thank you❣️🥰👌🏼
Very helpful!
XOXO
Thanks for the insight, Taz!

Thank you for these tips! I've done the shaking, but the backcombing you did and the finger lifting section by section really made a difference, so I will try that, too!!! Hugs,

Thank you.
Oh also what shampoo and conditioner also.
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET Thanks Taz. You’re the best!
Hey Taz thnx for sharing this. Question... can I do that same fluffing the root fibers on a long or mid long wig? I strictly wear the longer girls✨️✌️😍
Sure! However, it may fall throughout the day as longer styles are heavier and gravity has it's affect on them. You may need to refluff as needed XOXO
@TAZSWIGCLOSET very very cool. Thank u so so much. Appreciate the help✨️✌️😍
Taz this really helped. I hope you do more on styling with curly wigs from box to beautiful and how you clean a curly wig. Thank you so much.

Thank you Taz, this is really great information. Can you kindly tell me what the wig in the background "A" is?
I feel the same! Better late than never, though, right?! XOXO
Thanks Taz! I'm going to go work on my girls now!! Love and blessings 🙏❤
Yay! Have fun with it! XOXO
Great advice and tips Taz! You are so right. Is it possible to do a video sometime about rooted grey/gray colors?
Great ideas!! Thank you! XOXO
I LOVE this Judy! It's exactly right... the wig is just a wig in the box.. until you make it your "hair"! Have a wonderful evening! XOXO
Thanks so much for your input and insights!! Very helpful to others! XOXO

@@TAZSWIGCLOSET thank you Taz I’m on Wig studio now to order thank you Taz❤️
Thank you for sharing this!! XOXO

XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET YES IT DOES. THANK YOU.🙏
