What makes this such a CLASSIC is it's done "live" on a stage, just the guys and the string section ( My Love ) , no phony tape delay and other tricks of the trade. It takes Balls. This is old school and Paul's got the stones to do it !! Better now than when it was on free TV, well done.

I remember that evening in May 1973, setting up a tape recorder beside the T.V and holding the mic to the television speaker for the entire show, of course pausing it for the ad breaks. Sounds like a simple operation, but it was an evening show and my Mam, Dad, and five siblings were all in the front room for the entire time. There's bits where doors are opening and closing, even slammed, and me shouting at them to keep quiet. This was long before VCRs were available. I still have that 45 mins of mayhem too.

I remember my dad, my big brother and me all gathering by the TV to watch this. Great stuff...still. Just beautiful. Great memories here, especially when I realize that my father, my mother and big brother have all passed away now. I know they'd love to watch this again. Even though it made my father sad when Paul's piano blew up. I think he said; "why did they wreck that perfectly good piano for?"

    • @ericallen774
      @ericallen774 4 месяца назад +2

Haha, Yup I did the exact same thing. "shut up you guys, im recording" with the portable tape recorder positioned just below the TV speaker. I was eight years old - it was the only copy of Little Woman Love I had for years.

    ポールのソロ(Wings時代)では『McCartney』から『Back To The Egg』までが
    「Gotta Sing Gotta Dance 」

Just for all the haters. This was a 1973 "family" special made for English TV (picked up by NHK), back in the days when families watched TV together. Hold that thought as you watch "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and elderly people on the street singing Beatles songs. Color TV was still relatively new and Paul threw this together on top of everything else. TV didn't have a lot of slick moves back then. Don't jump on it with your 21st Century standards! At least it was live!

Everyone has "the age of glory". It was a program that was watched at a good timing.
    Surely NHK's "Young Music Show"
At that time, I telephoned the program and said, "I want to record on a radio cassette re-broadcast,
    I remember nostalgic things.
About two years ago when Sony released Betamax.
In those years all was "the age of glory".

      @@brucetowell3432 you're welcome, Bruce.
This broadcast was done in 1973 especially because Paul had a deal with Sir Lew Grade, CEO of ATV ( owner of Beatles songs) who allowed Paul to collect royalties during Paul's lawsuit to disband The Beatles.
Paul and Wings played live several numbers among the first Wings songs ( the Mess, my love, Live and let die...)
and composed for the show a new song in the style of musicals he particulary likes.

@@davidr.5789 yes, Dave, I saw it back then...I had just forgotten about the show's vaudeville type number ...he wrote many great tunes during this time period 1972-1975....I remember learning "My Love" by ear rather quickly during this period...in fact my ear has a little muscle type of memory that when I need to hear an "A"...i just about get it right all the time...believe it's from the Bb Maj 7th chord at the beginning. I actually like the way they "slow down" the tempo on many of the numbers. Or maybe that's the recorded speed and when I used to play my vinyl on my record players, the speed was always a tad fast? Were you able to spring for the Vinyl box set? Hoping "BTTE" and "London Town" get their Archive release soon!! thanks God Bless!

Never really heard much of Wings cept for the radio hits and have seen very little video.Personally I found John and Georges stuff kinda sappy and introspective,Ringos..eh..Novelty. Post Beatles, Paul clearly stands out (to me) as the most versatile entertainer. Some of this I skipped through,But overall pretty cool..Thanks for sharing

Bloke who does the announcement after 'Big Barn Bed' sounds like one of the voice actors from Joe 90, the guy who does the boss of WIN, the guy that Joe and Sam go to to get their missions from and that.
