Enjoyed your video. I was a camp host at Curtis Creek from Oct. - Dec. It's one of my favorite areas. Great camping, hiking and fishing. It's a beautiful area and has so much to offer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The campground was quiet and it was so nice having the river right behind our site where we could always hear it running in the background. And it was fun having the dirt road that ran up to the Blueridge Parkway.
Thanks for the Great video, plan on going spring 2021, You do a amazing job, I live in S.C. and no hills or mountains here, God Bless you for sharing, Overlanding is my New Love and Stress Reliever from my Job. I am a Natural Gas Disaster/Explosion First Responder, and Overlanding in Beautiful N.C . erases all the stresses of the day !!! LOL THANKS!!!!
Dude yeah, if you look carefully you will notice that is a theme throughout all my videos. My brothers maroon XJ is the worst for that. But man are they great trucks... I used to have one myself and they will always hold a dear place in my heart. They are a unique blend of offroad capability with the front solid axle, and overland versatility, with the large area in the back to build out a camp setup.
I recently purchased a 4X4 Nissan Pro4X and I am wanting to do some offroad camping. I like your trailer. Did you build it or is it commercially available? Love your videos.
I haven't done any of the TAT yet... I think the NC portions start out in the mountains just west of Asheville, and then heads south in GA and AL. I don't think they have mapped anything in the Raleigh area yet. But if you find out otherwise let me know! I live here in the triangle, so it would be fun to have more local areas to explore. Thanks for following!
Does anyone know where I can park on Curtis Creek to ride my bike? I want to ride to the top of Mitchell and use Curtis creek road to get to the BRP instead of Hwy 80.
I thought that I would have to do my own recon trip to learn about Curtis Creek Rd from Old Fort to the Blue Ridge Pky. Now, thanks to your video, I don't. Also, did you use a drone for the video at 6:35?
The Curtis Creek Campground charges normal campground rates, but past the campground along the road there are six or seven spots that you can camp at for free. You only need to pay for the sites in the actual campground.
And camping is only allowed within the first 3 miles up from the campground, there are about 7-8 spots to camp at (free, first come first serve). After that, the rest of the road (maybe 10 miles?) is no camping.
Sorry I don't have a map or anything published so I can't drop pins. But I try to provide the names of places and roads in my videos so you can track where I'm going on Google Maps.
Awesome man, thanks for following. I subscribed to your channel, and I'll be checking out your Corova videos. I want to head there this fall when the family is in Corolla. And nice jeep!

You in my back yard. I’m up there everyday. I volunteer for the Forest Service. My favorite place in the mountains
I love Curtis creek ....I've been there literally hundreds of times its where I grew up
Are you still getting out and about? I’m in the foothills and would love to tag along in the NC, Ga, Tenn, and SC trips
Good road. Toe river trail is directly across the top once you reach the parkway which will take you down to hwy 80 and south toe river
You used to be able to do so, but I haven't been up that road in years. ❤
Great video! I’ve lived in Marion all my life 😊
Thanks! It is most encouraging when I receiving positive comments from someone who is local to the area.
Digging your videos. You're hitting all the same roads we've been driving this past year.
Thanks for following!
I hope you went to Curtis Creek Falls.
Curtis Creek was named for my ancestors. Moses Ridge was named for my 5 th great grandfather.

Does it cost anything to camp there off Curtis Creek Rd?

As far as I know no drone stuff allowed on the blue ridge parkway.....
