Hey! Sorry for late answer to very old posts but here we go. The triggers are just there for opening gates or making it easier to strip silence when editing. We don't use the for triggering samples. Same goes for the snare but there we also use the trigg mic acoustically to add crack to the snare sound. Cheers, Peter
Peter is insanely good!!! I can't believe how tight he is, a programmed drum-machine coudn't give you the rythm this guy gives you. He has an extreme "dancing" feeling on vibes and rythmics of a puls, some of the hits and beats touches my soul in an almost shivering way! I know you can't say who the best drummer is, cuz of all different styles, tequniques and tastes.. But if someone asks me who the greatest drummer in the world is I shout without doubt: Peter Wildoer! He does it for me!!!
Most bands of this stature have usually completed Pre-Production before they go to record, most of the time the guitars carry over from Pre-Production to assist the drummer when it comes time to record to a click track because well a click track is annoying and can actually be more of a hinderance. Pre-Recorded guitars also help the drummer stay on time and be in the right spot and if you had the choice wouldn't you rather?. the guitars are then re-recorded to match the drums more closely.

Despite your answer, I have to say the drums sound great.

Tracking the drums to already recorded guitars? that's unusual, to me. Sounds cool.
