When your dad has the coolest job in the world...and he lets you hang out while he's working.
Stay home
my dad was literally in the band😂
That’s awesome and he has merit in bringing a lot of joy to people.
this song makes me so incredibly happy
I can’t help but feel like the crowd just doesn’t appreciate this banger of a jam as much as they should.
Why enjoy yourself and dance during an amazing performance when you could just record it to not watch later?
Well I mean, it's probably cuz there's 20 kids on the stage jumping around trying to dance. Kinda changes the entire vibe lol
@@danm2084 but still! I’d be singing a lot with him ! NEVER HAD TO KNOCK ON WOOD
It says a lot about these guys that they turned their hit song into a celebration of family. So many artists grow old and resent their “hits”.
this song is one of the best song of all time
Man like 20 years later and this song still gives me goosebumps. So sick
That little boy in all plaid suit is adorable!
for real right what a suit
His voice has smoothed out a bit over the years but you can still hear that gravel gargling voice he has going trying to get out, its brilliant 👏😀
Artists often perform live in a lower key than when they record in a studio, because it's so hard to hit the high notes without any retakes. These guys are doing the same key, and he's just going an octave down at times, and not growling as much, and it works.
It came back when he did the chorus
@@jcpederson55126 & the lyrics are clearer ;)
Hardcore still lives in his soul. He use to be in a straight edge hardcore band
Chances are is voice has been damaged over years of screaming, and went to a vocal coach to learn to sing properly. Kinda like what happened to axl rose.
I'm 39 years old, and this past weekend, I made a reference to the dancing guy in front of a bunch of kids in their early-mid 20's... not a single one of them knew who the heck I was talking about. 😕 I work on the tech team for a band, and they were joking about letting one of the lighting guys (who admittedly can't sing or play music) be in the band, and he said his part could be to just bounce around on the side of the stage. I said, "What, like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones? 😀" They all just stopped and looked at me like I had 3 eyes. He said, "The who?" I said, "You don't know who they are?" The lead guitar girl asked, "The Mighty what?" I said, "The Mighty Mighty Bosstones...??" She said, "I have no idea." And all the 20-something's concurred. And I felt really, really old for a while.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm 25 and enjoy the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. My best friend's in a ska band too and they're all between the ages of 17 and 25.
@@AlmostaFlipinSkater 17 year old here and I'm not in his/her ska band - however, I have my own ska band with people between 14 and 18 [well, soon 19]. Also, I love the Bosstones a lot; they're the first ska band I got into and the only one I consistently listen to every dy.
Did you introduce them to the band at the time?
@@ryangossett8211 I told them to Google "The Impression That I Get," and only one of them did, and her response was just, "Um... OK... yeah."
That is one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a long time!! It's just kids having fun, I love the band and have always been a fan, but this video proves it, this band is simply one of the greats!!
youre right
Good to still see Ben Carr dancing his heart out!
For me this song will always be like a warm blanket in a cold day.
Why does this make my heart so happy?
That was the 90’s atmosphere
Because the saddest ska song is still happy!
I luv this song. I have had this as my morning alarm ringtone for 5 years. It is a great song to wake up to. 👏👏👍
I dance the same way they do every time I hear this
"The Dancer" has still got it!
#BringBackSkaMusic lol
Leave it trust me,it's better there artists have more freedom that way.
a fourth wave lol
Make Ska Great Agian
Ska is alive and well, my dude. KEEP ON SKANKING!!!
SKA IS LIFE!!!!
I love these dudes! Their tunes put a smile on my face instantaneously
The smile on the lead singer's face is the best thing in the world
My man killed it on sax
yeah he did
As a dad who has gotten his seven-year-old daughter into SKA I approve of this video
this has been my fav song since the 90s still is happy to see them still rockin bosstones 4 life.
Thanks Bosstones! Ignore the haters comments. I appreciate the kids on stage, and I'm sure they won't forget the chance to be up there!
Produce: We booked one of the biggest bands from the 90s.
Office People: Great, people love the 90s, who get.
Producer: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Office People:...
Guy in the back: Hell yeah.
Nah. They're music is used in so many things, people know them. Hell, they're used in the intro to Adam Corolla's podcast.
Haha i love that the bands dancer dances just like his dad hahaha. Brilliant!
90's was the best times ❤
I'll never get sick of realizing they're like the only band to have a dancer as an full member- and it's amazing. *ok I see your comments..and I will rephrase..the only band I know of that has a full time dancer.
Try happy Mondays with Bez.
Dancing Tony for Nirvana. Bez with Happy Mondays too.
Stacia with hawkwind in the 70's??
@robr5786 I'm a youngin' and it's been pointed put several bands are known for this. Still rad..they only did it so they could sneak him unto shows when he was underage, love that
He is also the Tour Manager..😄😄
I'd love to hear his *brushing of the teeth/throat clearing ritual* each morning.
NEVER GIVE KIDS UNDER 8 RED BULL
IT WILL END LIKE THIS
If giving kids Redbull actually ended in ska-punk, I would never grow old.
Will always love this band and ska.
This is amazing all there kids skanking away, the house Ska built
Love the fact that this band has my heart as a punk, also from Boston, and can we just mention the fact that Dickie with Sunglasses and a beard makes him look like Jack Nicholson when he did “The Departed” 😅 all jokes guys. But fr wish this band was still around and I’d have a chance to catch them live. Too good to miss ❤
Jack Nicholson looks pretty good these days....🤣😂😅
That "I" is the most powerful part of the song
No. Well. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I love this song 😍😍
Brings me back to my childhood.
The Bosstones will be foverever missed
Dude, to watch the original video and then this live sp many years later is just rad. They have the same energy and you can tell that they really enjoy it.
Classic!!
This song is apart of my childhood and I’m so glad to say that!
I love this so much!!!!
Im instantly reminded of the Digimon movie
that was a less than jake song mate, all my friends are metalheads
Same!!!!
@@harmonheater4377 both songs were in the movie
Why do I keep finding out my current favorite songs were in a Digimon movie? It explains the nostalgia for something I never knew I had heard before lol.
@@harmonheater4377 This song was playing when the missile lands in the river, then it cuts to Tai and Izzy barfing over the balcony. The LTJ song played when Matt and TK were trying to find a PC in their grandma's hometown.
I love this show because everyone's children was on stage, it is awesome!
So awesome!
Daughter steals the show.
I love this classic 🤗
Feel. Good. Music. and just Happiness We need more of this stuff these days...
Always loved that song so kool to see them bring there kids on stage with them
LEGENDS
Classic song!
always fun, always cool
jaja esos chiquillos!
Nice of Jimmy to sing the song himself
One of the sickest bass lines ever written.
Singing a bit harsh but one of my favorite records.
CLASSIC!! Greatest fu!k!ng band ever. Sooooo many albums and positive vibes.
This is incredible
Fathers Day Soundtrack! Great song.
What a joyful thing
This song is my jam.
I love it
Shocking from the horns, keep up with the beat!!
They still have the “dancing guy” ... nice
And his kid dancing just like him
He’s also their tour manager I believe! At least that’s what I think I read in Guitar World magazine like 20 years ago. Lol
@@justinbutler3465 Yes The Dancing Guy is their Manager.
I love this song i remember listening to it in 2005 all the time
That patent Dickey Barrett scream.
This song will always make me happy. 😊
Yo so wholesome!
So good listen this song this days.
This video proves how awesome ska music is; in fact, I'm actually trying to get a ska band started at school. Sure, it won't be a new Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and definitely not even at the level of the Skatalites, but it's gonna be quite an experience.
Go for it!! There needs to be more Ska bands in this world!!
@@ericthayer2409 Thanks so much! I was able to make it work out, but school got in the way, so we weren't able to do as much. I (along with many other members) recently left the band over the summer because we were going to start college. However, the band's still holding together, and I couldn't be prouder of them!
@@theevildrummingsithlord1492 never stop playing music, in any capacity. Remember, when everything else seems to be a burden (I hope it never does for ya) music is ALWAYS YOURS whether you're making it, or listening to it. Good luck with college!!!
@@ericjohn8466 Wow, this is inspiring for sure! Thank you so much for the advice and well wishes for college! I haven't stopped making music, even though it isn't ska. Hope everything goes well for you!
The Skatalites rule!
Woah. Clicked on this video randomly and t brought me back to the first Digimon movie
Haha they got the dancing guy still too
Goddamn I’m old. This was big when I was in high school
Love you guys
Who knew Ska would still be alive in 2017?
Seems like life support at most.
They were great a decade or so ago but this performance lacked any sort umph.
Ska is very much alive, always has been since 1964 but just not always on the charts as has been the case since My Boy Lollipop. This pop-ska stuff had its day in the 90s but there are plenty of real ska and rocksteady bands out there keeping it alive. (Dicky sounds like a dad at a graduation party here however)
This performance isn't very flattering. Truthfully, they put on great live show these days, this just wasn't one of them.
ME!!!!
TheAnticapitor seems the ska bands of the 80s are putting these to shame then
i loving watching "dancing".... the kid with a ben.... .... por gabor tomenlo por el.lado buenooo... por que yo.tambien...ponía tge mitghy bosstones in my radio y bailaba asiii..tan felizzzz..... now im a 25 years old.... gretttings from BOLIVIA...
This is so cool! I own several Mighty Mighty Bosstones albums.
This band puts me in happy mood
Such a good song! And you sound great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no, his voice!
He sounds like he can't stop burping
At least he can still do the "IIIIIII" before the rest of the chorus
clueless people commenting
Be hard doing this song over and over...
yeah and he totally messed up @1:58 ...
#teachkidsaboutska i high key love this
Man they even got Nate Albert for this one!
Flew me right back to my freshman year
Dickey turned 60 this past Saturday.
I've played rock and roll guitar my entire life since I was about 10 then just turn 62 but I got to tell you Ska band looks like a lot of fun It might not have the screamen guitars but they definitely got the energy thanks for having them Jimmy, these guys are cool
Epic band, epic song
Love mightyss
I never understand people who go to concerts to not dance. Those kids put the crowd to shame.
Thank you! I would have been skanking the hell out of this song!
Because there was no energy and adults don't dance to the same thing 10 year old kids are dancing to. This was fun for them I'm sure...but below average for the audience and what they hoped and expected.
@@mraaronhd dude same I would be skanking so hard ngl
The lyrics in this song are uniquely amazing. I never picked on em when I found this tune as a kid. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a song about this topic before. Also, wtf is jack nicholson from 1975 doing in a ska band?
happy kind of music
legend
Everyone having fun. HOPE they are working on some new tunes
Everybody standing there enjoying the music, meanwhile I'd be looking around for some light ska mosh/dance pit or something
Yup! Same! I would have been skanking to this song!
Wow, someone must have sprayed Xanax on the audience! Where’s the skanking?
Years back around 2017, drowning pool played free gig in Tempe,az, and let the kids from the audience come up on stage, was Kool, I'd tried but I was too old lol
Ben and Ellis Carr....Beautiful Father and Son Relationship...and awesome dancing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those kids can dance better than most ska dancers
Song is 20 years old...
It's a classic tune, it doesn't get old!
The Mighty Mighty Dadtones
oh man that crowd
It's great these guys let kids have fun with it and get involved too for such a serious adult song!
Ska lives on!!!!!!! They still have it. Not prefect, but its still as magical as before (imo).
