This song sounds like the perfect ending theme for the whole Sonic franchise. It's a piece that envokes that feeling of looking back at the many adventures we've had, the many ups and downs, highs and lows, all of it encapsulated in this song. I remember when I first finished watching the Sonic Shorts, and once this song played at the end, I felt emotional, like I truly finished watching a magical series, the same way I feel about the Sonic series as a whole. It's given me the most amazing experiences ever, and I'll never forget it. This song truly feels like a tribute to the whole series, giving it the respect it deserves. Sonic has been in a rough patch lately, but with Frontiers out, I have hope that Sonic can finally have a chance at being one of the greatest, just like how he used to be.
Despite the wall of text I totally agree with you I'm pretty sure the sonic series isn't going to end anytime soon maybe it will someday but even then this entire series has been the most longest and wildest rollercoaster I've ever been on TL;DR sonic is cool and be happy that he is still around unlike some characters similar to him
This music was the best choice for the end credits of the last sonic shorts volume! Heck it was the first video I saw on sonic paradox’s channel and I was somewhere in my 2nd year of middle school at that time.
Strangely, the ending credits sequence started off with me pitching an idea to BoozermaN, the one who assembled and animated that sequence. My idea had been to use this music and have Sonic running through different zones. Instead, BoozermaN had the bright idea of using various scenes from all the Sonic Shorts volumes, with just a hint of the intentionally-bad Sonic Shits. I also created a shorted version of this track just for the ending of Sonic Shorts 8. Talk about some good memories working in Sonic Paradox. :) Thanks a lot for the comment! As bad as this ending may be (in terms of sadness), I always liked the mellow and sorrowful tone behind this piece. Sonic does feel miserable for the consequences of Tails' no-longer well-being. But the song tries to tell us that we shouldn't worry or be forced to beat ourselves up over it. Because in spirit, Tails will still be with us every step of the way.

I thought I'd let anyone know, Sonic Paradox made a Volume 9 Sonic Shorts after several years. I thought those videos were so funny when I randomly found them as a kid and now 22 the new ones are some awesome nostalgia reliving those videos again 🥲 this song was always one of my favorites used in their end credits.
I dunno if I had a hacked version or what, but my Sonic in the Game Gear bad ending seemed to be crying. Not blood or anything, just regular salty water tears. Also, instead of going on the Game Over screen, Tails' constellation just started glitching worse than Vinny's corruptions mixed with cartridge tilting.
I have a huge love for this song, so much so that I have had it as a ringtone on my phone for a long time, it's amazing how music can generate so many feelings in people. Thanks for this, the years go by and I always come back here. Many beautiful memories come back to me.
Sheesh it's been so long since I first watched Sonic Paradox... time sure passes by! This song definitely has a place in my heart because it just reminds me of all the all skits and sonic shorts back then. This was actually the good ending in the MS dont really know why they change it tho since the one for the good ending in the gamegear is the sad ending on the MS and I prefer this one.
At the end of the credits in both the bad ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Mastersystem and Sonic Shorts: Volume 8, Sonic looks up at the sky to see the stars showing an image of Tails (Sonic 2 for the Mastersystem)/ Sonic Shorts logo with this exact music playing in the background, though Sonic Shorts had a piano redux of this theme.
I think the good ending fits Tails better. This doesn’t really fit with Tails’s character much, besides it’s meant to symbolize the pair’s separation, so that wouldn’t really make much sense. You can view it however you want though, that’s just my interpretation!

So, I may be god knows how many years late, but anyways, this song hits me hard in so many ways First off, this has been my go to song whenever I feel down, Sonic and Tails are two characters I can really empathise with, Tails' Shy characteristics from being bullied, Sonic's carefree attitude and happy go lucky behaviour are two off the personality traits I possess, and this some just reminds me of them both, from the bad ending in Sonic 2 for the Game Gear (I played the PS2 Gems collection version), to the old Sonic.EXE Nightmare Beginning average endings, as an NU tester, I genuinely hope Jaiz uses this song in NB23 for the average endings again. Secondly, I want to thank you for making this masterpiece, as much as this song goes with with the common theory of Tails dying, and with Tails being my second favourite character (behind Silver), this song still manages to bring a smile to my face, because of all the nostalgic reasons, the two that I listed earlier and Sonic Paradox will always be with me.
